Watching the Z-A trailer a few more times I’m starting to come around on it more. There’s a lot of potential in the ideas here, though I’ll need to see more to know if they executed them well.

Not that I felt outright negatively, but I think the relatively samey artstyle and odd starter lineup threw me off initially.

They didn't reveal a lot and that what kinda gets me about it. But I see potential.

Looking like SV was a given, I would imagine they reused assets a lot. I do wonder how large Lumiose is this tine around, looks pretty expansive

Usually when I start a new game, I pick the Water Starter everytime. My exception was in Platinum (Turtwig cause BDSP I took Piplup) and a randomizer because there were none.

Spoiler: The Rundown

-POKEMON CONCIERGE LET'S GOOOOO
-They really just unleashed Darkrai and Cresselia in Sleep and made it a minor announcement. Like bro they're like the literal gods of dreaming and nightmares surely that's got to have some greater connotations in marketing.
-Alcremie in UNITE is insanely hype. Really curious to see how it plays.
-TCG Pocket keeps making banger idea after banger idea. Unfortunately I spent all my hourglasses already. I wasn't expecting a new expansion to come so soon aaaaaaaaa
-Pokémon Champions is exactly what I've been wanting for years. Unironically more hyped for this than Z-A rn because a game where I can just play Pokemon battles on the fly with my own mons stored in HOME and using gimmicks and mons without regard for Dexit will be so hype
-Z-A is literally just "And the crowd goes mild!" The real-time battle system is interesting, I like seeing AZ living his best life, and the graphical upgrade from SV is nice, but honestly we didn't really learn that much. Like, we know it's certainly a game, but the story hasn't had many reveals, there were no new Pokémon-related concepts, and the gameplay and graphics seem to be a pretty samey mishmash of usual stuff. There's no real striking feature out of this bar the new battling mode, which was shown so briefly that much can't really be said on it.

That being said I did spot some stuff in the trailer that made me hype (THEY FINALLY FIXED PIDGEY'S COLORS LET'S GOOOOO) and I'm honestly cautiously optimistic about this game, but I feel they really didn't make as strong of an impression as they could have with the trailer. On the flip side, though, Team Chikorita all the way. The haters will hate but I will support the silly goober to the end.

Nah man, Cyndaquil was already in Arceus.

I think they’re trying to complete the trios. So the Johto, Unova, and Alola starters all have new forms. Wouldn’t be surprised if the next Legebds game has Snivy, Litten, and Popplio.

Highly doubt that. Cyndaquil was a starter in Legends Arceus, it would be weird for it to be a starter again not even five years later. Besides, compared to how many people play Pokemon, only a miniscule amount has seen the teraleak.

Pretty much all Persona endgame antagonists are either human or are born from humans and can only be stopped by people. Not being human, Igor isn't in a position to directly interfere or tell the main characters what to do.

Real question is; is it a mega or regional? I’m leaning regional, because if I remember no other megas got massive updates to their movepools to accommodate a new type. Which doesn’t make this impossible, but less likely. Unless they get regionals and megas. That would be pretty hype.

I honestly have no idea. The gen 5 fanboy in me is leaning towards Tepig, but it's Tepig so I dunno. I think it'll depend on what they evolve into, be it regional forms or new Megas.

I was a big fan of totodile being the water starter, but I also chose Oshowatt in Arceus. I’m also shiny hunting totodile still on crystal VC. So as much as I would like it, I’ll probably switch it up.

I will probably go with Tepig because Emboar deserves redemption. So I hope they make it good.

-Speaking of locations, it does seem like we're locked to the city, at least for the most part. As long as it's fun to explore it should be fine, but I'm interested to see how they play around with it.

I could see parts of the city being able to simulate different environments/habitats for the city.

We see a shot in zone one where it looks like one of the avenues from XY but abandoned. So I wonder if they left parts of the old city on their own for wild pokemon to live and expanded it. Luminose also boarders several routes, so if they expand it, we could get the climates from those routes in the game as well. Like the swampy area where goomy was for example. Maybe they expanded and sectioned off parts of those routes to keep pokemon in their natural habitats.

Also I think we need to talk about the Copperajah in the room with Pokemon Champions.

It's a mobile game. Probably live service too. Which has its advantages, but like...How is the monetization going to work?

Is it going to be Free-to-Play? Subscription based? I hope it's something you just buy once but seeing it playable on a phone gives me doubts.

Free to make your own teams, but you Can’t transfer Pokémon without switch online or a separate subscription would be my guess. Or maybe you need online to use it.

This could low key happen but it says we are visiting the city. So we don’t actually live there, which begs the question of why. I guess technically let’s say the players mom really is their mother, maybe we live in vanville town and not the city.

Calling it now, the secretary is evil, and working with Lysandre who does survive in XY.

Final story area takes us back to Lysandre labs which is now bigger than ever. Lysandre has had members of Flare infiltrate Quasar and they plan to rebuild the ultimate weapon. Which is now located in their base under prism tower. That’s why Zygarde is watching the tower. AZ teams up with the player to stop the weapon once and for all and atone for the mistakes he made in creating it. The A legendary will either be the weapon itself or lured out of hiding by the weapon being rebuilt.

Then coming along Warner Bros. will join onto the train and we'll get live-action films of The Iron Giant and Quest for Camelot, Universal following with a live-action The Land Before Time!

Live-action every animated film until none is left! Disney is especially gonna live-action every animated film they made! Live-action Frozen probably less than ten years from now!

Nothing but lifeless soulless carbon copies of the animated originals.

• We suffered an entire year of radio silence and STILL no real release date for Z-A?
• Odd starter choices but MY BABY CHIKORITA!
• Ever since Dexit and Home, I always said that there should be a Stadium-like game that uses Home and now it's a real thing!
• Eternal Flower Floette! But will if finally be catchable?
• Interesting new battle system
• Shame no new Mons or forms were shown at all
