I remember seeing a joke modded Super Mario 64 video stating that the player had 3 million Stars to collect.

I propose that this should be the new standard for how many collectibles and missions should be in video games.

Except odyssey has just way too many collectibles that they all start feeling meaningless, speaking as someone who actually did try to 100% that game.

Im in the same boat with you. It doubled the amount you were already getting in the base game, it should really only be half of that maximum. Maybe a third for optimization.

Say there’s 8 worlds with 25 collectibles. I wouldn’t mind getting 8-10 more per world if they were worthwhile.

Mega Man X Corrupted may or may not actually have Axl in it now. I thought the OC girl they added was gonna be the replacement for him. But if Axl was one of the characters they were working on, I can see why it's taking so long to make. Cause they restarted before, added two new Armors for Mega Man X, Most of his armors from MMX1-MMX6, A whole new set of MMX Weapons, and I think a couple of old ones? Zero, who has most of his old moves and new moves. 8 new Mavericks, old Mavericks (Storm Eagle is one of those bosses who has his MHX moveset with extra moves) and the like.

Admittedly, I was skeptical cause of the scope creep, but if it does stick the landing, I think it'll be a Hall of Fame fan-game. But again that's a BIG IF.

There's also the MMX8 Demake, which was much more contained in scope, and THAT got mods with Axl and Zero not too long after it dropped. Some people were on the creator of the fan-project's ass cause he strictly made Mega Man X playable, but again, I thought showing restraint was cool, cause most fan projects do A LOT, but never release. So I respect it for that.

I remember reading a few comments of people claiming they've found that coin before.

I wouldn't be surprised if a decent number of people did. The real surprise to me (at least in hindsight) was that it was obscure enough that no one really documented it until then.

Nah, by the next time the next Smash is in its hype cycle, a lot of the flaws that AI currently has will have been worked out by then.

My guesses for the Switch 2:

-Mario 3D platformer announced with a trailer
-it's announced that a new Smash Bros. game will be on the Switch 2, though there won't be a trailer or gameplay
-Mario Paint 2 as a launch window title (doubting this one, but I might as well throw it out there)
-enhanced versions of Switch games like Bayonetta 3 and Xenoblade Chronicles X
-Halo: The Master Chief Collection to close off the Direct

Admittedly, a 3D Mario game and Smash seem like safe bets.

Alright here's my Direct Bingo:

Most of this is straght forward, but some explanations:

I think its too early for Splatoon 4, but they probably wouldn't stop Nintendo. I think multiple games will get upgrades. We have seen evidence of this with Xenoblade, Paper Mario, BOTW and probably more.

I think given its the anniversary, we could see a Galaxy follow up. A full open world take alongside the mouse controls being important to gameplay. Sort of like the pointer controls in Galaxy. Would also explain why we don't have Galaxy 2 yet. Could just as easily be a whole new game, but I do think it will be Open World.

Other than that, this list is pretty self explanatory.
