does anybody know if people under 16( so we don't get annihilated, i'm 14) have their own tournaments so we could face each other on our own skill level and transition to bigger tournaments easier?I just thought it would be cool to have one

yea man like although i know and can utilize some advanced techniques (wave dashing, dash dancing,l canceling,shffl-ing,and teching) i still need more practice and cpus aren't gonna cut it but then the advanced players would shred me to pieces, thats where under 16 comes in, for young people who are either trying to perfect techniques or learn them, and it would give us a future glimpse of what our great smashers could look like

Wizzrobe is an excellent smasher and is still relatively young. I think he was only fifteen when he won Zenith in 2013, so don't sell yourself short because of your age! Anything can happen!

Looks like we're the future of smash, and I don't mind practicing with older players. It's definitely easier to be with people our age though (16)

I don't really see the reason for it. If you're 16 and you're not good, it's not because of your age. Age doesn't really make a difference (at least, not at that point...maybe if you're like 12 or under)

I actually agree with this, I'm sure there are like 7 y/o asians who are better than us
Plus my brother is 7 as a Marth and he can give a lot of people trouble, maybe not exactly win, but ya
also he is a MK in brawl

Judging by your response, it doesn't sound like you read my post.
Besides, as mentioned before Wizzrobe is pretty young and he's really good at PM. Nairo was only 15 when he was the highest placing player from North America at Apex 2012 (he got 3rd). And Nairo was really good for years before that, which includes when he was 14 like you are now.

If you're not good, it's not directly because of your age. You're either not trying hard enough or you're not practicing properly.

My peak at Smash was probably when I was 14 or 15, and then I went on hiatus for a while and I suck again.

Like infinitev115 said, age is no excuse.

Here's a link to a page on the [awesome] guy V115 was talking about.

http://www.ssbwiki.com/Nairo

This man (teen) won a national at 17 years old, even beating "older" pros like Mew2King along the way. And he was part of a nearly unstoppable team for two+ years (haven't lost a tournament except for a single time since age 15 or so [where they took second], and I don't think that's changed sine Apex 2014).

In Minnesota, there's a 14-year old on Melee power rankings. And I was voted for by at least one person to be on the Brawl PR [I don't have the spot I don't think], and the top guy on our Brawl PR is I believe only 18 years old now. Admittedly our scene is not the biggest, but he does very well against almost everyone in state except sometimes the number 2 guy on our PR (a guy who has an amazing Melee Kirby and is also a fairly strong Brawl Kirby) and sometimes me [I chalk that up to him sandbagging and lying about it or else my character not being (hardish) countered by MK/an MK ditto, which he seems to enjoy].

I would just recommend going to any tournaments you can and asking skilled players (older or younger) for advice/help, and seeing if you can play smash with them on a regular basis. Some might be jerks, but there are plenty of nice people willing to help others improve and also people who are looking for people to smash with regularly. if you do this you're bound to improve and not worry about your age.

Age doesn't matter honestly (I'm 14 as well). Just look at Wizzy he beat Mew2King and Hungry Box with no sweat.

How old was mango when he won pound 3? 15 or 16? And he took out Forward, Cort, PC Chris, ChuDat, and Mew2King (top players at the time). I'm a young smasher too, but Scotland might be a bit far away for anything like this
