Online tournaments are okay too. Those are often free, and there's plenty to join.

Im kinda new to smashboards and another thing I absolutely cannot do is play villager in lag. Its annoying when your opponent reacts to an attack better because of a lagspike :/

I also went to one this november on the 5th and placed 3rd out of like 30 or so, but I can't find the bracket link (along with some other ones) so I'm not putting them in.
Ultimately all of my losses in this tournament have been to Jakamu ;__;

Oh cool thread. So I was in my first tournament 2 weeks ago and my friend and I won 1st in doubles. I don't have all the info you want, but I'll share my results none the less.

1. usernames: JMJB (Villager), SPIRIT (Charizard)

2. Results: 1st

3. Videos: there IS 1 reply that was saved on the tournament's Wii U system, I'll try to get it uploaded. the melee guys got all the streaming stuff tho =/

4. Date: Oct 24th

5. Link to results thread: I'm on the bracket page but I only see singles, doubles was "round robin", which was us playing everybody else at the tournament. all of our matches were wins 2:0 except against the second place winners, that match was 2:1.

one really interesting thing to take note of, is the person I lost to in singles, and the person my partner lost to in singles were on a team together, you'd think that'd be an impossible match up for us in doubles, but we managed to beat them as a team 2:1, they took second in doubles, and 1st and 2nd in singles respectively. that should say something about Villager in doubles!

We're usually in top 8 most of the time, if not 1st, 2nd or 3rd placing. Partner's a Bowser Jr main who loves abusing Villager's Pocket with the Cannonball.
I'm pretty bad at doubles as a partner tho. XP

I didn't get a chance to thank the regulars at that venue, but I want to. They gave me huge support before going into and in between the games with Capt Awesum. Without them, that set would have turned out differently. So again, if any of you from there are reading, thanks. It really meant a lot.

I've been going to locals lately and going solo villager (Unless its little mac. I dont know that matchup whatsoever with villager) and I havent won yet however im placing in top 4 constantly. The bracket was recorded on paper not online so I cant link it, I do know that there were like 90ish people there
