What if certain characters had 16 alts?

Back in Sm4sh, 8 alts were introduced for each character because of the Wii U version introducing 8-Player Smash. Out of every playable character, Little Mac was the only character with 16 alts, half of which were alts using his wireframe appearance. Yeah, not even Wario or Robin had 16 alts even though they seemed like a no-brainer (especially considering Wario had no less than 12 alts in Brawl). In Ultimate, however, Little Lac had half his alts taken away and now each character has 8 alts max.

If certain characters had 16 alts (not even all of them, just some), which characters would you give which alts? Personally, I’m gonna go basic and say give Little Mac back his 16 alts from Sm4sh.

Wario had twelve costumes in Brawl (much more than the average, since eight alts wasn’t a standard for the series back then), so the easy thing to do would be bringing back those with four new alts. I’d probably pick a Game Boy and Virtual Boy-inspired palette for his two plumber alts.

I mean you couldve thrown in ST Link with his normal tunic!
(I dunno would be neat to have normal toon link with the lokomo sword!

Because his normal tunic in Spirit Tracks is the exact same as in Wind Waker, so I threw in Engineer Link for the sake of acknowledging Spirit Tracks (you could at least change to the Lokomo Sword when you select Engineer Link).

I didn’t want to go overkill because something like this would be a lot of work, hence why I only wanted certain characters to have 16 alts; I at least consider that much an improvement over the wet joker that is Little Mac getting 16 alts in Sm4sh, but then Not characters like Robin and especially poor Wario, and the Ultimate reducing every character to 8 alts and nothing else.

probably wouldn't get any but recolors would do just fine. Honestly, I think 16 colors for a character's base costume should be the minimum. Additional costumes should have 8 minimum to cover 8-player Smash at least.

Similarly, in cases where characters are alts, just give them 8 as well.

With the size of the roster, modeling more new costumes, or again new characters as alts, is understandably unlikely as their efforts were focused elsewhere. Bumping up the number of recolors was absolutely doable though.

Then, since you’d have four spaces left over, add a Yoob color, Yarn Yoshi, Strikers Yoshi, and (barring any requirement to bring back Crafted Yoshi for some reason) Kangaroo Yoshi.
