What's the Sonic Board's stance regarding Sonic's game?

I actually didn't have anything against Shadow the Hedgehog, it wasn't tragically bad by any means, just really really average

I think the subject of speed being Sonic's game is fairly complex. Sonic does indeed tell us that speed is his game but how much of his game is actually dedicated to his speed alone? Are we to instantly believe that his statement is the whole truth or merely a creation made up on the spot from his euphoria of winning a match? Is his judgement perhaps clouded, or maybe are there factors he has not taken into consideration that affect his game? I don't think anyone can be completely certain that speed is most definitly his game until furthur testing is done
