Worst Song Ever?

Stamping your library books.
My friends and I have been debating what the worst song ever recorded was, and I realised that there isn't a worst song thread on SWF. (If there is, it's ancient.) So I'll make one.

Right now, my vote goes to Hooty Sapperticker. If you've never heard it before (you probably haven't), click here. Most of the song is just some guy saying "HOOTY HOOTY HOOOOOTY" over and over again. It's annoying, shallow as a puddle on a hot day, and uninspired.

What do you people think is the worst song?

My vote would have to go to either Disturbia or Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).

****, I don't know why the **** these songs are so popular.

Of course, this is my opinion.

EDIT: Well, this is only as far as recent songs go. I haven't really heard many songs that I didn't like, let alone ones that were from a while back. Maybe I'll update this later.

I came here to post the fact that I completely disagree with this thread.

Why?

Because while obvious that "in your opinion" is implied, it is not mentioned. Therefore I can only assume "Worst song ever" should be considered a fact. Which, there isn't really such a thing unless you are looking at a statistic (EG: The worst selling song of all time (which would be thousands of unsold songs) etc.

Well, it's just a place for people to express their opinions on what song they like least. I do see what you mean, and I respect your thoughts here, but it's not like we're forcing our opinions down anybody's throats yet.

"My Pal Foot Foot" by the Shaggs is the best and worst song ever put to tape.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yN9UT2zF8c8
WHAT THE ****!!!! I just copied the url to a picture of their album to post. Biggest ninja EVER!

My mind is seriously blown away. Right now. Well, I guess I should hop on the Shaggs wagon anyways:

I own this on CD and "It's Halloween!" is infinitely fun to blare on the holiday. Annoys the hell out of everyone including yourself and your dog. The Shaggs are the worst group ever. The cringing sounds of their guitar work, galactically offbeat drums, and unmatched voices are burned into my mind.

"Blister in the Sun" by....well I don't know or care who it's by. It's an a guy with an annoying whiny and screechy voice saying something that doesn't make sense for 3 minutes with someone who has no clue how to play a guitar randomly strumming garbage in the background. This "song" serves no purpose other than to make me wish I was deaf.

Most mainstream music considered popular today by tweens and teens. The **** does it mean to have a poker face? Does it matter that she has donk? Why do i care about what youve done?

It doesnt seem to matter to these artists about the message, just how memorizable the beat or the lyrics are.:dizzy:

i have a thing against hip hop nowadays. They can't sing, and they rely on the DJ's work, the beat and melody created by the mixer. It was an opinion by the way.

Haha, I actually liked Hollaback Girl a few years back, heh.

The song I probably dislike the most would be Brittany Spears - Womanizer.

The entire discography of Mindless Self-Indulgence falls under the category of "worst song ever," as does anything having anything to do with Corey Taylor.

You're joking right? Besides being one of the Cage's most important compostions, I'd much rather listen to that than this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gO3mGPXeSE

To bad it failed completly in its purpose. Let's here what John cage said

They missed the point. There’s no such thing as silence. What they thought was silence, because they didn’t know how to listen, was full of accidental sounds. You could hear the wind stirring outside during the first movement. During the second, raindrops began patterning the roof, and during the third the people themselves made all kinds of interesting sounds as they talked or walked out.
I believe this is the absolute worst thing any artist can say. Laying the blame on the audience for their ignorance is not the answer for the composer’s inability to communicate an idea. It is not that the audience didn’t know how to listen, but rather that Cage didn’t know how to tell so that the audience would listen. Maybe this is the best way that the idea of “listen to your surroundings” can be conveyed, but if that is the best we can do, the late explanation does not help his case.

This is an issue of misdirected attention on the part of the cultural institution. The audience arrives expecting to hear traditional European art music, but instead gets a guy with a time piece opening and closing the piano lid intermittently. No one is going to “get it” the first time around because they haven’t been told what to look for. In reflection, but only in the context of reflection, does 4:33 become a master stroke.

As your broseph from another mom, I can't let you!

Yes, it is a pretty safe statement to say that BEP is hot garbage (in a bad way). But, you were still probably in diapers when Behind the Front & Bridging the Gap happened. Their turning point occured sometime after this...when...you know...;)

No one mentioned that abomination of a music artist? I'm not even going to link any of her songs; everything and anything she makes is nails-to-chalkboard to my ears. I can never understand why people sing her ****, most recent example being "Paparazzi." Horrible.

So glad the underground exist.
