Step 1:
Dash attack is actually very quick, and a decent punish. The problem isnt dash attacking, but dash attacking on shield, especially when the opponent is camping on the ledge.
Step 2:
What are you even trying to say here? You shouldnt try to challenge projectiles (just shield them, no point risking damage). Mac is better at punishing your opponent for over-extending themselves than baiting out moves. What you should have said was "space yourself correctly and use mac's low-cooldown moves like down tilt and jab to apply pressure and catch your opponent trying to punish you." Mac controls space with his quick moves, and if your opponent tries to wiggle their way in, they get hit.
Step 3:
This is actually correct. Dtilt is mac's go to move. You can combo into just about anything.
Step 4:
This is nonsense. This kind of advice wont help anyone get better. "dash around for no reason." No, there IS a reason for it. Dashing around "for no reason" lets mac stay mobile without sacrificing access to his ground moves. But the way you word it seems to suggest that people just be random instead in hopes of throwing players off, instead of having a gameplan.
Step 5:
There are better punishes. If you're too close, fsmash will cause you to punch right past them and miss completely. Ftilt, sweetspotted upsmash, UpB, sideB, etc. This isnt really even advice. Nobody playing mac is going to overlook fsmash; his isnt even the strongest in the game. A better tip would be to make use of his super-armored moves.
Step 6:
Is this a joke? KO punch as a recovery option? As your only hope of recovering? Are you high?
Why would you throw away an almost guaranteed stock lead for some very minor horizontal distance and weeks worth of endlag that will likely render your attempt at recovering meaningless?
And bonus points for being too lazy to describe what an effing WALL JUMP is.
Step 7:
Oh no, dont talk about kill setups or nothing. Just say "use the moves that hit really, really hard" and call it a day.
Conclusion:
Really? 7 steps? 7 (really bad) steps is all it takes to be able to play little mac "for the most part?" Not even effing close. All this will do is create more For Glory Macs, spamming smash attacks and dashing back and forth "for no reason."
Why is it people who clearly have no idea how to play a character take the time write up so-called "how to" guides? It's even worse when it's information thats been regurgitated after having learned it from somewhere else.
"Dont dash attack! Alpharad said so!" Yeah, listen to what alpharad says, not any of the actual little mac mains who know the character inside and out. Alpha made those "how to play 101" videos, he clearly knows a lot about smash.
Ridiculous.
