  • Riddle (What am I?): I have words, but never answer when you ask. I demand the answer. It is someone else's task. When I am before you, you do not know. Once you do, to another I go.
    Riddle (What am I?):

My backs are stiff for stability,
Unless the wish is that I bend.
    My eager fans and enemies,
Both can't wait to see me end.
Lo, I hide myself under covers.
    Entertaining,
    Share the minds of others.

Now, some trees do yet grow bare,
    Off go their leaves,
    Making for the ground.
Only, mine will stay in place,
    Resounding knowledge,
    Engaging the crowd.
Don't mind the extra notifications I may have given you, I accidentally unfollowed and then refollowed you haha.
Riddle: How can I remain in place... or win it all by keeping pace? No change in distance from the start... No stress, no strain, no pounding heart. Otherwise, making haste with speed... to cross the finish in first place indeed.

Try again. The riddle is asking for HOW I can do something in the question, and the statements support it. Perhaps it is my fault that it is not so clear. I am not sure of a way around that, but the answer will be about how, and not what.
Riddle: I can be lost forever, yet always be with you. The first time you gathered, I was not the same. I can leave you perplexed as to what was true. When I am not here and you need me, it's shame.
Your analogy comparing what I do with Bethoven was a bit silly, but I still like it.

I should test the emojis for this device at some point. Many times, the appearance is not quite ideal.
A thought came. What should be the next attack effect to be developed, and what should be modified about the existing ones? I was thinking about how there are enough characters with the 'darkness' effect on attacks, but it does nothing if I am correct. How could that change?
    Linkmain-maybe
    Linkmain-maybe
Darkness should have an effect that stays on the afflicted for about 5 seconds. During those 5 seconds, any more darkness attacks that hit deal 1.3x the knockback but the damage is 0.6x. This way darkness would be more effective for kills, but worse for combos.

Light should have the afflicted person keep the effect for 5 seconds as well. Subsequent light attacks deal 0.8x knockback but 1.2x the damage. This way it is more useful for combos than kills.

If both effects are combined, then the effects are removed immedialley but you deal 1.5x the damage and 1.3x the knockback. This would make the combination a tricky thing to pull off, but with great reward.

Btw, when I mean light effects I mean the magic effect, as there is no official light effect and magic plays a very similar role.
Open Puzzle (There may be multiple possible solutions, but be prepared for some time to pass, and be imaginative and observant): Follow the clues and solve the puzzle... your own way. Try if you dare!

No. The answer: If you 'take' (as in carry or lead) two '...steps' forward and two (as if two had legs) steps backward, you will be in front of two.
Riddle: As long as you have not worn me, you are 'me.' The film with a house guest will star me. When you visit, I am here. Where is thanks giving? I am near.

    Life?

    Doc Monocle
It is not life. I would give the answer 2-3/5 stars, but it would make the task of rating much easier if you gave reasons with each answer.
Riddle: Run in me, and you will run out of me.
    xzx
    xzx
How was my answer 1/5 anyway? I thought it was quite clever actually: if you run into bills (piece of paper that tells you how much you must pay) then you will run out of bills (the paper slips that are money).

Since nobody has guessed correctly you should just tell us the correct answer.
    Doc Monocle
    Doc Monocle
I did not mean "run into." I meant "run in." However, by the former interpretation and your reasoning, it is clever, and given the misunderstanding, I would rate that 4/5 stars. I was thinking of a Mobius strip. Running in a Mobius strip, you will eventually run to the outside of it.

Ah okay, fair enough. I totally missed that lol.
you should answer in the Dragonball Game because 3 people should be enough!

Riddle: I have seen countless battles and doubtless, vict'ry I win, through thick and thin. Mightily I tense for the struggle, and hence, I am ready to go, head weightier to than fro.

Ill explain now. In battles people die, and when a person dies death wins. The death toll would be more after the battle then before. You could say death is tensed up, waiting to claim lives.

Mmm... That I would say is good for 3-4/5 stars-- a decent answer. Stay tuned, for I am considering making a general puzzle thread.

P.S. In case you missed it, I already revealed the answer to be 'catapult.'
I'm currently trying to make these Backyard Sports threads relevant, and that's why I keep making new ones and periodically updating the old ones.

I would gladly campaign for it if it helps. That is no guarantee, but I am willing to attempt to attract attention to it. It is challenging to act accordingly, but think of any forum/thread as an ecosystem, with topics as the producers and posts as the consumers. There must always be something interesting and relevant to talk about, but if you provide too much, people will feed on it like a wild fire and run the thread out of resources until someone else revives it. it is an art and science I have yet to exploit well, but that is the observation.

It's a character from Super Mario RPG. He's a puppet with a gun and people want him in Smash.

While it's true some others may be good people as well that may have feelings and might get too pushy over you not agreeing with their opinions, there are others who not only disagree with you but also don't give a **** about your feelings and try to harass or make fun of you in anyway. While not everyone is like this, a lot of people are. We live in a cruel world.

Yes, we do. The hope is that by showing patience that is unearned, then even if you do not inspire your aggressors, you may be a positive influence on those who ARE paying attention.

BonafideFella BonafideFella , the truth is that there really is a place for the word "stupid," but it is a deep topic, and the way I see it, we mortals are not fit to use it. I just feel the compulsion to remind people of that, and I knew it would gain me enemies, but... I think you understand.
    I miss the riddles.
    Doc Monocle
    Doc Monocle
Mmm... I was hoping you would and hoping you would not say that! It is very hard to come up with original riddles that are not cracked in thirty seconds. I am still thinking, but even the cleverest riddles are susceptible to a disappointingly quick solution. I shall find something, but it could be a while.
It recently occurred to me that Brawl may have been easier to play compared to other titles due to the optional nunchaku layout, as multiple inputs could be made simultaneously and nearly effortlessly, whereas the Gamecub controllers had stiff buttons, and were less ergonomic.
Irony: One thing that is funny is the lottery ticket. With the high-end ones especially, you are more likely to die on your way to purchase a ticket than you are to win. My response to the Gambler's Fallacy, which is characterized by the declaration, "I just know I am going to get it one of these days!" is thus, "You may be right, friend!"

If you look at statistics, you find that a staggering amount of casino profits are from problem gamblers, and they're intentionally set up to target the addicts.

Commercialism is opportunistic, yes, and I shall always say yes, but remember that having so many deep, outspoken thoughts about systemic evils stated out loud will eventually cause trouble if you do not tread lightly.

I just looked at the plot synopsis and DLC packs, but I am the wrong person to show this to. Like I said, I I am not very familizr with Zelda's games, and I have only played the original. Thus, I would not understand anything mentioned outside of those elements present in 'The Legend of Zelda'.
