I'm not saying having your 3D platformer be exclusive to a mobile subscription service is a fantastic idea or anything, but it annoys me when people write off Sonic Dream Team for that reason. Given how long Sega Hardlight has stuck to making mobile games, and with how often they've provided 2000's fanservice with things like Mephiles in Runners or Excalibur Sonic in Dash, I think this is basically Sega givng them a chance at making their own Sonic game to see if they should start working on the main games. I think that's also why the format is so similar to SA2 (three playstyles, six characters), because of that 2000's sonic love and because they wanna stick to a formula that, in the eyes of most fans, is proven to work pretty well.

I love that the Scott Pilgrim anime opening has the stereotypical "two characters falling in sky holding hands" scene, but makes it work in the style and tone of Scott Pilgrim. Also I started listening to Necry Talkie like a week before the opening dropped so that was cool

So I was in a show recently, the high school edition of Clue, which is mostly based on the movie. I played Mr. Green. It was really fun! But that's not why I mention it here.

At the end, spoiler for an old-ass movie, Mr. Green is revealed to be an undercover FBI agent, Larry Goodman. And after he shoots the bad guy, he signals for the cops waiting outside to come in to arrest the other guests.

In the play, the line is "Officers!" and before I said the line the first time, I had an idea that I was obligated to act on for the bit (even though no one else would understand it). While I said the line, I made a very particular hand motion.
So that is how there is a LowTierGod reference that no one got in a 50's-era play. You six or seven or twelve or however many profile post viewers/posters will be the only ones to ever know this.

Is it wrong to say I like ads? Not for the content, but for the fact that we never pay attention to them. They are one of the few parts of life, in such a fast-moving world, where we're able to just slow down and think. Especially if it's something like a YouTube sponsership or mid-roll ads on a streaming service, it allows us time to reflect on whatever art we're viewing. I think that's pretty cool.

YouTube pre-vid ads are a bit annoying though, idk why that's different for me it just is.

I remeber seeing all that talk in early 2018 or whenever about people wanting a new F-Zero game, but one thing that Nintendo Life mentioned is that it would be called "F-Zero S-X" to follow the naming convention, and that's not the most flattering name. But like, the obvious thing to call it would be F-Zero NX, playing off of the Switch's codename that made it sound super futuristic and high-tech, which fits well with F-Zero.

Watched the first 1/3 or so of the live action Little Mermaid.

Pretty awful. The animals don't play instruments, Flounder no longer has an actual character design but is just a normal-ass fish, they ruined the rock-splash scene, Sebastian sounds like they used the first take of all of his lines, and almost everything outside of the songs is a shot-for-shot remake of the first movie. Nothing added whatsoever, apart from one scene that does a decent job at adding to Eric's lore.

Eric also has an I Want song, which is super boring because the lyrics are just him describing what he is physically doing at that present moment, as well as using extremely uninspired descriptors for his feelings ("I just cannot get over you" wow so creative). Also at one point in the song he describes Ariel's voice as being like "a siren that guides me". Do the writers not know what a siren is? I feel like if Eric saw Ariel as a siren, he would probably want to stay really far away from her at all costs.

Biggest upsides are the vibrant colors, a majority of the actors (Flounder, Ariel, Scuttle and Ursula), and the hair physics that were probably half of the production budget.

I have to wonder what it would be like if this was someone's first exposure to the Little Mermaid. They'd probably still like it a lot, since Little Mermaid in and of itself is a fantastic story, but man, I really hope that's not the case for too many people.

Generally though, in my experience, laptops after being damaged tend to fade in and out of working order depending on how much they feel like ticking you off on that particular day. So uh, here's hoping it sticks around long enough for me to get a job!
