It's an archetype. Tall, dark, brooding man with a wide-brimmed hat. Among those who believe in Shadow People, he is called "The Hat Man". To me, he has been an alter ego with a proper name. I've identified with and as him for 8 years now. He exists within the collective conscious of man. Through my artwork, I am researching who he is. As most seem to portray, he appears to be an observer, a guide, a messenger of sorts, and sometimes death. Whether he is part of a 'people' who bear similar appearances is unknown, but I suspect he's been around for a long time, taking many forms through the ages.
