I don't feel bad for him at all. He's blinded by the idea of being a hero.

If you notice the backgrounds, the filmmakers use gold whenever there's a heroic moment. Likewise Tai Lung's eyes are gold because he THINKS he's The Dragon Warrior.

Deep, deep stuff. I freaking love it.

I'm pretty sure Tai Lung won't be in the sequel, but I do know the directors didn't show what happened to him on purpose. There's a chance we may see him in the future, whether it's a sequel or TV special.
