OK, so I'm very aware that Sonic isn't popular in Japan, it's something I've probably brought up too much if anything, but I was not aware that it was to the extent where a major game developer, under hire by Sega, wouldn't know who Dr. Eggman is.

I never really gave Bub and Bob in Smash that much consideration beyond "I like this game, it'd be fun to have in Smash", but now I think about it, those bubbles could be an awesome command grab/projectile combination - I could imagine them as going in an arc rather than staying in place, but still trapping foes in it - essentially being the ultimate combo tool, cancelling out DI and forcing a set knockback regardless of weight or damage. Should be blockable though.
It's no NASB thread summon attack, but I'll absolutely remember "Why aren't you being nuanced about this topic? Anyway, Bubsy has no redeeming qualities" for a long time.
I'm reading some of the Bubsy discorse from the Next Smash thread - at a safe distance - and I think these people really don't understand Bubsy as a concept. People are acting like the diegetic crux of the character is "Sonic but annoying/wacky" when he's really a lot more of a Daffy Duck/Donald Duck-style character.

I think if I was in charge of PSASBR 2, I'd make it a lifebar based game - still a platform fighter with the standard mobility options and moveset layouts, but all the stages are walled up (with pits perhaps being part of a crossover hazard or two) and a lot bigger than the average Smash stage, even for the stages designed with competitive play in mind - it'd have a meter a bit like NASB 2, but every move's upgraded form takes a different amount of meter and there are - like PSASBR 1 - 3 supers

I'm starting to suspect the SmashBoards user base is a significantly higher percentage neurotypical than I first thought.
While I do defend use of AI art in recreational or otherwise-non-corporately-produced/budgeted content, I do think it's really weird and a little concerning that all the generators don't have citations/sources listed for the source images, even though they could pretty easily do that AFAIK.

Honestly, I think "4th parties" are a good idea for Smash in one very specific context (and also a context I generally think is a bad idea): a Nintendo crossover that also has strictly-Nintendo-adjacent third parties like Banjo and Mega Man. If a Nintendo crossover is incomplete without Mega Man, it's also incomplete without James Bond, Scrooge McDuck, and the Ninja Turtles

Honestly, I think Smash 64's Poke Balls were the best take on summon items in the series - I'm not 100% sure if it was an intentional design decision or just an N64 processing thing, but I like how they all (sans Clefairy) have only one attack, since that makes them a lot more fun to play around than ATs and certain Poke Balls basically just being 9th players. Admittedly though, if ATs had this design mentality, they'd need to make them throwable, a lot of Poke Balls just don't work if you throw them at nothing (Melee Porygon2)

I think that when people make Mario Kart rosters, they often fall into the trap of adding multiple characters who, to someone unfamiliar with the Mario Extended Universe, feel redundant. Like, people complain about having Peach and Peachette on the same roster, but to the average Mario Kart player, having both Tiptup and Koopa Troopa or Mad Scienstein and Dr. Crygor together would feel just as redundant.
