It's always disappointing when a video game sequel doesn't have something the previous game had, but it's even worse when a Smash game doesn't have a character the previous game had. The fans would be at least 10 times angrier.
Mario Party 1 is overall good, but there's a lot of baloney in it too. Besides the rotating control stick minigames that can hurt your hand. There's also the incredibly broken Mushroom spaces that can make you lose your next turn. The incredibly unreasonable 100 Star goal to unlock the Eternal Star board. The random red Dice Block that makes you lose whatever number of coins you roll. The Miss fanfare playing when one player loses a minigame, thus telling us that the other players winning is a bad thing. And some minigames have very little substance, even by the standards of a minigame. Fortunately Mario Party 2 gave most of these minigames more substance and fixed all the other problems with the first game too.
Mario & Luigi: Brothership is a good game on its own, but it does not live up to the previous games. The stakes feel extremely low for the first couple hours, there's a ton of filler objectives in the main story, and there's no unique gameplay gimmick. Each of the previous games had one.
Why does no one comment on my posts or even give them likes? Is it because I never like or comment on your posts?

I previously wondered that before in my case, but I am guessing it could be for more than one reason, such as people being busy, skipping or forgetting to reply or like, etc.

I have felt annoyance when that sort of thing happens to me as well. But the reality is that sometimes people just don’t have anything to say about the topics you want to talk about. Be it because they’re not interested in the discussion or because they literally can’t think of anything to add, it’s just reality that this not only can happen, but can happen often.

It kinda sucks sometimes when it does, especially if the discussion you’re trying to start is one you’re really hoping to get some engagement on, trust me I get it. But we can’t force anyone to comment on our stuff so the best we can do is just roll the dice and hope we get some good discussion when we post something. And if we don’t, we just gotta accept it.
In Mario Kart DS, player characters become ghosts when they're eliminated in Balloon Battle. But ghosts can hurt opponents and sneak up on them without being seen, so...why would you not want to be eliminated?
I'm glad ARMS has a free demo. Once you've played it, you've basically played the full version. That is how devoid of substance ARMS is. What little substance it does have is good though.
Smash Bros is great because it features all kinds of gaming legends like Link, Pikachu, Sonic, Mega Man, PAC-MANN, Steve and many others.

Including, that one character who wears overalls, a hat and gloves, he says let's a go and his name has 5 letters, it's everyone's favorite mustached hero,

    Luigi!
Disney no longer needs to make good movies in order to stay on top. Nowadays it seems like they'll only make good stuff whenever they absolutely need to if the company is failing too much and needs to make a new masterpiece to get back on top. 2023 was a bad year for them, but Inside Out 2's high level of quality and its box office success really helped the company.
In Fire Emblem Fates, the Nohrian units are written better than the Hoshidan ones and are also way more interesting than them. And Conquest's plot has a lot more depth than the Birthright and Revelation's plots. It's as if Conquest was originally supposed to be the only route, but they decided to add two more routes later in development.
Star Fox has become far less important than it used to be, and Falco and Wolf are just Fox clones, so Fox could be the only Star Fox rep in Smash 6. Just because an IP used to be important doesn't mean it always will be. It has to fight to maintain its importance.
I don't see the point of not putting Mother 3 on the English version of GBA NSO. They wouldn't even have to translate it in English since they put the 3 Stafy games on it and didn't translate them. And you can change the region on you Switch so you can play the Japanese version of GBA NSO.
Why is 4 player co-op fun in side scrolling beat'em ups, but not in New Super Mario Bros.? Is it because there's more interesting things to collect in NSMB and people will fight over the camera more often?

Long story short; it boils down to the relationship between character movement and skill. In side-scrolling beat-em-ups, everyone playing at once is usually progressing at roughly the same speed regardless of their skill level, because movement is pretty much a secondary function to combat (and there's also other stuff like when the stage stops to throw a ton of enemies at you, too), so it's easier to keep the camera on you and actually see what you're doing; helped by your characters being bigger.

Platformers, on the other hand, tend to reward movement very specifically; and that means that a skill gap between players just makes things significantly less convenient for everyone involved, either because one player's trailing behind and the camera can't view both, or because one player's darting off forwards. Plus, again; smaller character sizes, further away camera.
Thinking about it, Min Min is a great character for beginner players. She's easier to understand since 7 of her inputs are for one attack and she's also high tier.

I'd argue she's kind of not, for that same reason. A simpler character like say, Mario, would have a toolkit that suggests to beginner players that different inputs have different functions beyond just "press the attack button to attack". It's a good way to softly introduce the idea of recognising that each move has its own function, rather than just presuming you can throw anything out and it'll probably work. Min Min doesn't really teach that as well, because 7 of her inputs are for one attack and she's also high tier.
Today is Smash 4's 10th anniversary. Why is no one celebrating?
There is a consistent problem with every Mario & Luigi game. Once you learn a more powerful Bros. Move, there's no longer a need to use the ones you learned earlier in the game. You'll just be spamming your most powerful attack the whole time. But if you use the other attacks, it will take longer to beat the bosses and enemies. Brothership should have fixed this problem somehow.

That's how a majority of RPG's end up tbh

Yeah, that's just an inherent problem of nearly every RPG ever. It's not just Mario & Luigi.

The first two Paper Mario games are a notable exception but the key to how they figured it out is to have incredibly low stats throughout the entire game for both your party and those enemies. Enemies will rarely have a defense above 0 so attacks that worked early on still will against a majority of endgame foes. If anything, they'll be even better if you upgrade your party members or change your badge setup.

I'm not sure how I would feel if an existing RPG series would shift to classic Paper Mario's approach...
Switch 2 cartridges should be able to carry more content than Switch 1 cartridges can, so why wouldn't Smash 6 be able to have more content than Ultimate?
Who else likes to watch the final boss and ending of a game on YouTube before getting to that part in the game? I don't want to wait until the end to see the final boss. But I also don't want to know the context behind the fight until I get to that part though.
What is the gameplay gimmick of Mario & Luigi: Brothership supposed to be? Each of the other Mario & Luigi sequels had gimmicks that add to the core gameplay and change the way the game is played. In PiT, you control the adult Bros and the baby Bros, in BIS, you occasionally play as Bowser while Mario and Luigi help his body work better. In DT, Mario and Luigi explore two different worlds and they have different abilities in each world. In Paper Jam, you control Mario, Luigi and Paper Mario. In Brothership, uhh...Luigi has ideas on how to beat bosses and solve puzzles. Wow! So innovative!

The main overworld gimmicks are that you can briefly deploy Luigi to automatically do certain things independently from Mario (breaking blocks, collecting items, ect.) and that you direct your ship around the ocean to find more islands to progress the game. You can return to islands you’ve completed to do sidequests and the ship will keep sailing.

The main combat gimmick is Plugs, which are various buffs you can apply to yourself without spending your turn, but each one only has a limited number of uses before it goes on cooldown. You can use several at once.

Edit: Admittedly, these aren’t quite as obviously marketed as previous games‘ gimmicks. But, I understand if they wanted to keep it relatively simple for players new to the series.

The gimmick is that Nintendo gets to [again] rebrand the same thing as something different and make $$$$ off it.
Apparently in EarthBound, you can save your progress after you use the Phase Distorter to travel to the past. Even though you're stuck there until you beat Giygas, so why would you want to save at that point? A lot of final areas in RPGs remove the ability to save your progress, that way you can go back and prepare more if you don't think you're ready for the final battle.
For a game developed by a different studio, we gotta appreciate Mario & Luigi: Brothership for staying true to the spirit of the first 4 games. It introduces a lot of weird new characters. Like all the new characters look like Mario & Luigi characters.
Name a final boss battle more perfect than the one Bowser's Inside Story has. The music and atmosphere are perfect for a finale, the tension and stakes are high and it requires Mario, Luigi and Bowser to all work together.
There's not much need for Corrin besides his unique side special, so don't we just cut him and then give Mii Swordfighter a custom special that's functionally the same as Corrin's side special? Plus fans would probably rejoice and celebrate if Corrin was to finally be cut.
Are there any high school or college students on this site who grew up playing Smash 4 and value its newcomers just as much as older fans value the characters who were in 64, Melee and Brawl?
What do you think of my 60 character Smash 6 roster?
Wonder why the Velma Halloween episode got cancelled. Yes, everyone hates Velma, but tons of people still would have watched the episode solely because it's part of the Scooby Doo IP, thus making Warner Bros. plenty of money.
Super Mario Sunshine deserves more respect. It gave us 5 characters that would go on to appear in a lot more games. These characters are Bowser Jr., Petey Piranha, Toadsworth, Gooper Blooper and the Piantas. What other Mario game saw the debuts of 5 series staple characters?
