Am I the only one who has turned FS off?

The only time I turn them off is when I turn all items off (I tend to alternate between no items, just the items I like on low, and all items on medium, depending on my mood and the situation). They're just too darn fun to turn off when I'm using items. Its a blast using them to obliterate opponents when I get them, and a challenge to evade and defeat them when my opponents get them, not to mention the whole pre-FS battle for the smash ball is an enjoyable little scramble.

Well Olimar is just a matter of staying up in the air long enough to avoid the ship landing.
This acually reminds me of one time where my friend once tried to stay at the top of the stage to avoid damage from the monster attacks, but accidentally ended up star-KOing himself... Fun times.

Personally, I keep them on. Part of the fun is fighting over the Smash Ball when playing with my friends, although they don't appear nearly as often as we'd like to (although Dragoon pieces seem to appear a lot... I'll have to look into that one comment someone made in this topic where they said the ball can't appear if any dragoon pieces are on the field, as that would explain why they appear so rarily in our matches...).

I turn them on when I feel like playing a 'just for fun' match. If I'm playing competitively or for practice, they're off.

Btw, people playing competitively can be fun. It's more of a match of skill, and some people find it far more exhilarating than items everywhere.

I actually really like final smashes. In a game where defensive options are heavily weighted, it's nice to see everyone gun for the same target at once and try to foil each other as best they can. I usually play with them on high (and more stock to offset the rapid KOs that follow). And no, not all final smashes are equal, and neither are all the characters' ability to get/avoid them. But playing with a team match with friendly fire on and final smashes allowed is by far and away my favorite smash experience.

On the other hand, other items (except maybe the dragoon and team healer) usually get the axe.

It depends for me.I put them on when I'm looking for something different.I usually only do it in 4 way FFA because it's a mad dash for it.The items I can't stand are the Dagoon items:urg:

I hate Smash Balls, because

1)Not everyone's final smash can KO in one hit

2)Not everyone can get multiple KOs

3)Not everyone's final smash are transformations. What's wrong with this? Look at the Space Animals FS compared to Ike and the Links? When Fox gets one he just taps B ASAP and he gets multiple KOs, while with Link you would have to skillfully catch your opponent in the final smash and you may get one KO if you don't miss it .

4)They appear waaaaaaaaaaay to much.

5)Pity Final Smashes. Soooooooo annoying. You have a sorry computer losing (not by much by the way) and its like every time he respawns he gets a PFS. Come on now what's the fun in Dodging a CPU's final smash all match long (and the CPUs only targets human players anyway)

and

6)I just flat out hate items lol. But I specifically hate Smash Balls and Assist Trophies

My problem with smash balls was that some characters had way better FS's than others! I thought it made the game even more unbalanced!

I'm a competitive player at heart so this naturlly bugged me. I only play with them on when I'm playing friends who like them. Strangely enough, many of them now hate them for the same reasons I do, and would rather play without any items at all.

Gotta love influencing your friends :p

I usually play with all items off, but when I'm playing with other people who aren't as competetive I turn them on (except usually the hammers and refill heart).

I hate being forced to play as Zero Suit Samus, so I tend to keep it off except for free for alls.

yes i keep smash balls off most of the time, i only turn them on when i want to screw around or show my friends what each player does. They are not competetive at all, i play falco and i know that my final smash is totally unfair
