After Smash enthusiast Nicholas "Ministry" McGuire suffered a cardiac arrest while competing at BEAST 7 in Sweden last February, he incurred exorbitant medical costs. Because his health care and Swedish work visa expired prior to the event, he is expected to pay $200,000 upon exiting the hospital.

Sentenced to Smash's income will be allocated towards helping Ministry.Several community-run initiatives to help Ministry have been started, such as the Swedish local event 'Sentenced to Smash' donating its earnings to Ministry's official GoFundMe. Soon, two of Super Smash Bros. Melee's most prominent players will also be joining the fray.

On March 13 and 15, Super Smash Bros. Melee world champion Adam "Armada" Lindgren and fellow veteran Jason "Mew2King" Zimmerman will stream on the former's Twitch channel for Ministry's benefit. The stream will be Melee-focused, featuring high-level practice between the two pros, fluff challenges and a full roster iron-man. Beginning at 3PM Eastern Time on both days, all stream donations will go towards alleviating Ministry's financial burdens.
"We all need help sometimes," said Armada. "Together, we can help Ministry get a better life."
