Best 2v2 Team?

I was wondering, based on what everyone has seen so far, what looks like a promising combination of characters for a 2v2 team. A small explanation or any comments about team battles in general would be great. Thanks.

Metaknight + someone with finishers is a pretty effective team since he can juggle enemies pretty crazy to set them up. I use Ike but against better players they might work around it.
I also like the whole Melee + Artillery set up where you have someone like Marth go into the fray putting pressure and hopefully double hitting enemies while Zelda lights it up with her crazy B-side flak cannon. This usually makes people go after her while your meleer can get in some good hits chasing them.

Snake + Anyone can work as he's versatile, and he can do C4 Switch on people.

Well i have a 2v2 team on gamebattles, we suck though since my friend broke his thumb and has to play with index finger, but i play as Meta Knight and he plays as Ike, basicly i hurt them and he finish's them.

Metaknight isn't the only fast damage-wracking character. I'd use Pit instead, he can go on the defensive and has an awesome recovery.

Pit, or metaknight, and a dedede user. Think of it this way, dedede can chain and provide the kos while the pit or meta will damage, not to mention that both can do mad edge guarding.

Close combat spammer/heavy character + Snake. I suggest Dedede, to tank, while Snake provides ranged DPS. Or Bowser to tank, and Snake to provide ranged support.

I think that

Pit+Wario
Pit+Lucario
Toon Link+Wolf
Metaknight+Snake
Pikachu+Metaknight
Lucas+Pit
Lucas+Olimar
Dedede+Falco
Dedede+Toon Link
Link+Ike
Ike+Marth
Ike+Diddy

These are pretty good so far.

Why is it i feel everyone is describing a 2v1 match? You're not gonna be able to get math in the fray while Zelda launches side-B. In 2v2, generally speaking, both characters are always paired off fighting each other. Even if you could do what you have described Zelda's side-b is not that hard to dodge and, while annoying, will not amount to enough help to keep Marth from being slaughtered in his 2v1 match up.'
The most important thing about teams is the ability not to hit eachother, making Samus/Marth not always the best partner, and the ability to make the best of your oppertunities/stop your opponents from making the best. In other words the ability to make the most of the 2v1 time as one person is launched off the side and being able to distract your opponents when your teamate is being chain grabbed/ off the ledge. This is less important by far in Brawl as combos are few and recovery is generally uberfied, but someone with a nice fast spike to knockout an enemy chasing an ally off the ledge would be nice.

lucas and diddy seemed pretty good because i can pk fire spam them and diddy throws his bananas so they can't get close to us. its a pretty good defensive strategy

I would assume two fast characters with a moderate recovery, projectiles, and aerials would do well together. For instance:

Wolf-R.O.B.

This way they can each pair off with a member of the other team, but if one of them is in trouble they can quickly help them, whether it be with a projectile or melee attack. Just my two cents.

ike and sonic.
Mainly since Sonic is extremely annoying and would be distracting enough for Ike to finish enemies off. His speed is grants him better ability to fiht since he won't be stuck fighting another person and could help his ally every now and then.

My experience (may it help for my school's 2v2 tourny) is that Pit + Wolf or Lucas is a very good team as they both hold their own but can combine as DPS (yes i used WoW lingo) and finisher.

Besides Mirror Shield is awesome to hide behind with PK freeze.

The best is obviously Lucario and Mr. G&W. Why? The freaking bucket attack of doom!
