I just wanted to say having matches with random people and winning doesn't prove a character is good. It just proves YOU are good. High level tournies are where you can prove a character's worth.

Though Mario doesn't suck. He is just the most basic character.

Oh, I never meant that Mario sucks.
He PWNS all the other lv. 9 cpus.
Plus, he can't be laserlocked.
I have trouble against him.
And his smashes are rather annoying for Falco.
Not so much Marth, Ike, Ness, and Fox.

I played one in team battle today.
He got me with an oddly timed dsmash.
I wanted a rematch, but I quit because I didn't have a space animal, an earthbounder, or a Fire Emblem character with me.
I HAVE to have one of them to form a good team, else I usually do all of the work.

from SSB64 it would have to be either Ness or Kirby because they were insanely buffed up, but in Melee it's Bowser as well as in Brawl, as for the newcomers i'd say Snake and Sonic since Snake is buffed as hell, and Sonic well.. he's fast

What about Mewtwo's Soul Breaker glitch in Melee? XD That'd be absolutely broken if it...well...ya know...could actually be used in competitive play? XD

Also try and state which game the character you chose is from, eg. PCHU said Samus has been great, in which game? 64 Samus sucked, for a game that really focused on combo's Samus had next to none. Melee Samus had huge potential with one of the best recoveries in the game (if done right), Super Wavedashing, and the NTSC version had the extending grapple. Brawl Samus once again sucks, I'm not sure if bomb jumps are as still as effective as they used to be but her projectiles, which were a large part of her Melee metagame, had been nerfed badly. Also I think her priority on her dash attack and sex kick were also nerfed

I can safely say DK is one of the better characters in Brawl now.

N64 Falcon was a beast, and was arguably in his best form in that game. Don't get me wrong, Melee Falcon combos into the knee are nice, but N64 Falcon had similiarly dangerous combos, and he had the fastest Falcon Punch delivery. <-- Unless you people with the knowledge of frames can prove me wrong about that.

Most people seem to agree N64 Pika/Kirbs, Melee Fox/Falco and Brawl Meta Knight.

I believe that there are better Brawl characters that Meta Knight. Ok, he does have super-speedy-crazy ninja skillz, but he just isn't... killer enough.
