So the guy who runs the BIO series has asked me if I would like to host a Melee tourney there also. It's a really nice venue, and we would have our own room that holds 70-80 people.
That's right, Melee has its own room so you don't have to mingle your elitist ***** with Barlw kids. - EDIT: We're all in the same room now =/
Tourney info:
Schedule:
We don't have all night to run this tournament like we do at other places, so I need you guys to show up by 11AM.
I will assess a $2 late fee for anyone that arrives past noon and wants to be in the bracket!
Teams will start at 12:30
Singles signups will END AT 2PM - another $2 late fee will apply here.
Singles pools will start at 3PM
We get kicked out at 10PM
Fees:
Venue fee: $5 - $2 off for full setup, $1 for console or TV by itself.
Entry fee: $5 singles, $10 per team ($5 per team member)
$2 late fee for not entering doubles by noon or singles by 2. So if you're in Dajuan's car bring extra cash.
Parking/transportation info:
Here is a map of the area. The venue is at 450 Powell, which is between Post and Sutter.
BART: There is a BART station only a few blocks from the venue, the Powell Street Station. After getting out of the station, just head North 4 blocks on Powell.
Parking: Here is a list of parking places from the official Union Square site:
http://www.unionsquareshop.com/parking.html
As you can see, you're going to spend close to $30 for parking, so you'll want to carpool or just take BART.
I found a couple that -might- be cheaper (no guarantees, just going off of reviews on yelp, etc) but a few blocks more away. Nothing more than a 5 min walk though.
California Parking at 400 Taylor St
Propark at 520 Mason St
The closest on is the Union Square Garage on Post Street, but it's $32 for the day.
