Sad news. I wonder how Mr. Sakurai feels?
They both worked together to create Smash Bros.

Mr. Iwata was cool. Sadly, he can no longer bring the news directly to us...

Masahiro Sakurai said:
The president of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata has passed away. He was my former employer, but even when my situation and location changed, he was always the most understanding [of me and my work]. A hard worker and a virtuous man, he always supplied me with quick, fair guidance. I believe that he was the greatest leader I could have imagined. May you rest in peace.

You know, considering how harsh I've seen many people be towards Sakurai for the littlest things or being extremely negative simply because a character they wanted didn't get in.....this actually really strikes me in the feels. Sakurai repeatedly stressed that he was in painful conditions with his arm while working on Sm4sh, but he never stopped.

To have an employer who truly understood him and his situation so well must've felt really nice.

Not this time, sorry.

He'll be missed, from all of us.
