i don't know if it could be translated into an actual mode, but my bro and i play baseball in melee. i play as luigi and he plays as marth. we go to mushroom kingdom 2. i stand on the far left, he stands on the far right. i charge up my side b, he charges up his b. i go flying at him, and he hits me to send me flying. he has to jump onto the middle platform, the left platform, then then the middle platform, then back to the right. that counts as a run. if i hit him before he completes the run, he's out.

I don't see why people see a problem with modes being implemented because they have been in other games. You can't deny something is good just because of where it came from.

While I expect Smash to have some new crazy modes straight from the mind of Sakurai, I also wouldn't be surprised to see modes like the ones mentioned throughout this topic, and I think they could add to the casual game play. It seems like something Nintendo would push, since the Wii is so focused on a true casual audience.

How about a tag mode... one player is selected at random in the beginning of the game as being "it." They then have to attack an opponent, which will pass the "it" to them. Whoever is "it" when time runs out is the loser, the less ranked by time spent as being "it."
this could be a tourney style mode too, 4 person free for all, at the end, whe ever was it last loses, then the remaining 3 play again, last to be it loses, then the final 2 play and the last person to be it loses, leaving one remaining person, the winner!

Sounds fun to me!

Don't forget that in the game book for melee it had descriptions of gametypes not included that you could play without the games assistance;

"King of the Rock; On the kong jungle.... fight for control of the rock, player in control when time runs out wins"
-similar to king of the hill but in brawl a time for control mode could be implemented and it could use different platforms on a lot of different stages, possibly even changing hills

"Temple Race; Time Mode ... Hyrule Temple....See who can complete the most laps"

Obviously they wanted melee to be a sandbox for making your own modes, I think in brawl they might actually implement these and make them real modes
nice find!

I think an online team battle mode would be awesome. You and a friend can make a team and play against other teams that would be randomly selected. (Yes, like Arenas in WoW lol)
they should to 2v2 online like they did in strikers, one person, plus a guest, so 2 people at each house battling in a 2v2 match!

idk i think people have thought about this but idk. Crew battle mode it just like does all the stocks for you so you dont have to kill ur self and etc. lol im 2 lazy to go in more depth but i just thought it would be another neat feature.

and for king of the hill there should be a respawn time limit other wise it would be very hard to aquire points. say like at least 3-5 seconds or somthing.

And for the Tag mode scuba said. have it be a gooey bomb stuck on some 1 and then you have to run into them. But it would explode after a min and then its a instant death so like last 1 to loose all there stocks looses. it would pwn

**Best All Around Brawler **

Every stock or death, depending on whether your playing stock or time, restarts you with a random character. You could turn repeat characters on or off on or off, and you could play Free for alls, or teams.

I would love to play 5 stock matches in this mode. it would give people a reason to be good with every character.

I still think a mode similar to Gladiator Mode from Timesplitters 2 would be amazing. The basic rules are this: a random person is designated the Gladiator at the beginning of the match, and is marked by some kind of glow. The gladiator is the only player that gets points for KOs. Anyone who KOs the gladiator becomes the gladiator. Play to a certain number of points.

I liked that mode in Timesplitters and it would work very well in Brawl. They should definatly add a couple good modes like this for it's mutiplayer.

Countdown: 22 Minutes unitl the biggest dissapointment in DOJO UPDATE HISTORY

Team survival:

Each player picks 4 characters. You start off with a random character, and every time you lose a stock, your next stock is a new character. And I guess you couldn't pick two of the same character. Confusing if you did it four man, but it's been done in plenty of other fighting games.

Galaxy Brawl(Like the Mario game)

When you run, you run along the stage, like if you had magnetic boots on. When you become air born, you fall downwards, but can double jump back.

Hot Potato

The name speaks for itself. Like if there was only one instant death sticky bomb...

Doomsday

They NEED to have a mode like the SSD bomb dropping thing. BTW, we all do know about that right? Because I didn't. I've been playing melee since day one, and just last week did I learn this. I was playing Sudden Death becausse me and my friend wanted to see who would die first in a side Kirby death throw, so we were sitting in sudden death. No items. Then, ou can imagine my surprise wwhen a friggen bomb dropps on my head! I was like H4X! This wold be kool.

Ya i just learned about the whole bomb thing a month or two ago

anyways, I like the idea of a race modes, however a flat level wouldnt be fair considereing a certain blu guy is like God speed, and characters like Bowser are not

There were a lot of multi modes in a PC FPS a long time ago called "Rise of the Triad".

My favorite: Deluder (A play on the word elude)

Targets fly around. Whoever breaks the most in the time wins. KOs have no effect on score, but may help you get to a Target otherwise smashed by another... The targets would fly around in the same manner that the Smash Balls fly around in.
A person who knows his history. I loved that game.
