^Ah, no wonder.

I'm pretty sure this isn't possible, but is it possible at all to bring back melee tether recovery, or no? Not with Olimar and the like, but Link, Lucas, Samus, etc.
yeah i would support that. would really help samus and link especially and would be a nice mindgame/depth to their gameplay

It's not cause they are hardcoded to snap ledges. We would have to program that all the stage sides are ledges which would probably lead to characters grabbing on the walls of stages randomly.

surely then it would grab the closest stage then, which could work as generally the closest point is as the crow flies. would be a nice feature though

I may be wrong, but, wouldn't being able to grab any part of the side of a stage totally **** up walljumping/clinging? ???

You should at least be able to cancel the tether and go into a jump like in Melee. That was always nice. The way it is, you really can't do anything out of a tether but get pulled over to the ledge.

Just realized this. The new sss is messing up the pics on the replays. Can this be fixed? Cause if not the sss really isn't worth it.
Yeah, this is a little annoying. Unfortunately B+ replays are all mostly hosed anyway because of the changing codes though, so I don't think its worth fussing over too much until all the gameplay changes are done.

Noticed this too.

I've also noticed a problem that sometimes happens with Ganon's side-b. If used in the air and it hits somebody, occassionally, the opponent ends up behind Ganon. I never had this happen to me in vBrawl but I didn't play all that much with him then.

Aaaaand sometimes, while using a recovery move with straight horizontal movement on the main platform of the Delfino Island stage, such as Fox's side-b, they will completely go through the edge and fall to their death. Also not sure if this was in vBrawl, but it kinda sucks.
The Ganon thing is known. The thing with space animal side-b's going through Delfino happened tons in vBrawl. It makes it a pretty nice Falco counterpick, since it pretty much always has platforms or uneven ground and Falco can't really recover ever. It happens when the character is just slightly too low to snap the edge. You just have to get used to it and aim a bit higher whenever you can.

The dude needs his own tier. Weegee tier, because he's that good.

Can you please just add the Wifi room as a stage on the Melee page, and put the SSS back to normal? There's really no point in it, and you have to relearn where all the stages are. It looks cluttered, too.

We have one which is much prettier and usable courtesy of maestro

I want deadlands, but the best thing to do would be give each a different SSS slot, that would be the best way to do it.

I think WWR should only have sandbag though, if not it's impossible to ban the stage when striking.

Okay, this is I want:

Luigi's Mansion: choice between deadlands and slowed down mansion (different SSS is a good idea)

WWR-only sandbag (It's just waaay to boring without the guy, and he adds some actual strategy into the mix)

I like the idea of a separate SSS window, it would easily resolve any arguments in this department. Someone's gonna have to make a list of all the stages, though, or I'm gonna lose track! :laugh:

I like the sandbag too. It looks odd, but it gives the stage a hint of character. But what do you mean with the striking thing? You could use a list to stage strike and not the in-game screen.

I love the Falco/Fox falling through stages like that. Ganondorf can do the same thing with his Side-B, and Ganoncide through the stage, which is epic. No way should that be prevented.

I support two different stages. I honestly would leave it at just Deadlands, but at least by splitting the decision you can generally be on everybody's side.

By the way, the SSS tutorial is coming along well. You will not believe some of the stuff that code can do.

Now use my CSS and we're all set!

EDIT: i think they made the right choice when bringing back the mansion and sandbag. Perhaps an even slower Mansion would be better.

It should look really odd when the mansion breaks down.
Is 1 minute and 40 seconds a good time? How long does it usually take to take the whole mansion down?
It breaks just as quickly as before pretty much. Then stays down for 1.5 minutes.


However, when it respawns, it comes back REALLY slowly that it looks so awkward. Its awesome though.

how does the slower respawn effect gameplay? do the boxes for the platforms only start working at the END of the animation, or sometime in between? same question for the pillars (having your projectile stopped mid respawn would be annoying).

shanus, I could write a code that quickens the stage speed when it is respawning.

Its hard to describe, like you can jump on it while its respawning slowly, its actually really neat.
