Brawl Specific Tourney rules question

With the recent fear of spammers, and projectile campers, I had a question that might interest Ness and Lucas players. Now, I know in Melee, if you had more percent and your opponent wasn't coming to hit you, you were in some ways obliged to make the move, because of the time factor. This is the concept that fundamentally drives spammers. They put damage on you and you are forced to go in for the attack since you have percent and they dont.

Now, if Ness or Lucas are absorbing first thing in the game, and a wolf or laser spammer hits you and you absorb, who is technically in the lead? I was interested to the answer of this question in Melee. In my opinion, it should go to the Ness/Lucas, since the Campers are being lame, and they (N/L) are technically at negative percents.

Also, I still do not see why people dont think short hopping and air dodging is a feasible approach to campers (setting X or Y as your shield/grab to do it quickly).

lol, "technically in negative percents", that's pushing it. If you absorb at 0% it is not counted as having a lead as far as I know, but seriously, would that ever happen? I can't see any tourney matches ending up with no damage dealt at all.

Wolf would be in the lead.

I'm a Lucario main, and when Lucas/Ness tries to absorb it (and they're at 0%), I just keep screwing around until they mess up and I hit them with an Aura Sphere, then I charge it up all the way (for use later one), then proceed to attack.

What the hell...?!

Epic failure. No really, that's just lame. Camping is now one of the most predominant styles of play in Smash because of Brawl's new engine. Get used to it! You can't police people. How much camping is too much camping?

And what the hell does Lucas and Ness randomly absorbing a few energy-based attacks have to do with ruling in favour of them winning despite being behind in %s?

Shorthop airdodge leaves you open, especially if you do it often. Because there is absolutely no way to land immediately during the airdodge if you SH unless you airdodge towards the end of the SH, leaving you open for a bit. If you SH and don't land, then that leaves you open for a bit as well.

And nobody who's any good is going to repeatedly fall for it.

Yuna, even though the wording is confusing I don't think he means that the Ness/Lucas player would be behind in %'s.

If I'm understanding correctly, a situation like that could occur as a match times out with both characters at 0% and an equal number of stocks, most likely the last stock. Being that there is no such thing as negative percentages in Smash however (the absorbing wouldn't heal in this case, it would just negate the damage) it would be treated as a tie game which would have to be broken either during Sudden Death or another match.

Then it will go into Sudden Death or a Tie Breaker 1 Stock rematch.
