dash grab through kirby utilts or something
yo ruoka did that to me a 9 months and i told boom about it
ruoka goes in right after the first utilt

just dash attack kirby's utilt, it clanks and then you are in a pretty good spot
not if your at 0
if you are high % and an utlit wont combo u, then go for it

One of my favorite (simple) falcon combos is:
sh nair/fair > dash grab > f-throw > pivot jump > bair > bair > reverse uair

I'm not sure which characters this combos on but I've used it multiple times on dk, link, mario, fox, and pika.

I'm not sure if this counts but I performed this against my friend's link:
bair > plat drop bair > dash grab > f-throw > u-air > (maybe a second u-air) > low angled reverse uair > turn around falcon kick

I'm not sure if the falcon kick combo-d but it looked awesome

Edit: the low angled reverse u-air has to be done really close to the platform in order to z-cancel, turn around, and falcon kick

anything that ends with reverse uair is happiness
The way it is described is actually a normal uair tipper

There is a different thing which I call a reverse uair in order to have consistent terminology: you are facing the player, do the up air, and the tipper hitbox sends them the same direction you were originally facing. kind of like how a falcon reverse bair sends them in front of you.

Ahh, ok. I like that terminology better. I'll start saying u-air tipper.

Tips vs Pikachu and Kirby as Falcon

Also they banned Hyrule Castle now? Why if I may ask? That use to be the most neutral stage. What happened?

vs pika:

if pika short hops, approach with fair > grab > combo OR upsmash

if pika jumps high, up air for days

if pika is on the ground, back air is the best aerial to use but dash dance grab is a better option

try to get the grab and combo from there

vs kirby:

unless you're 100% sure it will hit, do not approach with dash grab

bait kirby into the air and **** with up smash or aerials

falcon owns kirby in the arial AS LONG as you don't have high damage

play a patient game if you have high damage bc kirby will win every trade

if kirby is spamming up tilt first hit fair will sometimes work

falcon kick will almost always get through up tilt but is risky

use dash attack when kirby is at like >50

in general:

use your pressure to scare pika/kirby

if you can bait them into the air or an awkward position you'll take the stock

don't mess up combos or edgegaurds

use platforms to your advantage

why hyrule is banned:

a good player using a good character will not get hit if he doesn't want to

I somehow pulled this off against Link:
dair > ledge/edge cancel > reverse hitbox ledge attack

I didn't know I was going to get the reverse hitbox lol

For all your Falcon needs.
I was playing ssb 64 on my emulator trying to unlock him. I read from multiple sources you finish the 1p game in under 20 minutes any character any difficulty. I did that twice on two different difficulties as two different characters and he didn't unlock. How am I supposed to get him

IIRC it's 15 minutes not 20, including moments in between games.

Yo, I'm sure this kind of information is buried somewhere in this thread but I'm going to ask at the end anyways.
I'm struggling in coming up with inventive ways to combo the floatier characters in the game. Specifically Jigglypuff/Samus/Loogie.

So far the main things I've been going for are combinations of bairs and reverse-uairs into death or an edge guarding situation off of platforms or grabs. My primary spacing tool has been mixing up dash pivots/dancing into aerials or grabs. Any thoughts on the matchups/what I could be doing better?
I don't particularly struggle in the match ups but they could definitely use work.

FF nairs, nairs, FF fairs, fairs, dair tech chase stuff (we melee now). Try to end each combo to where you're in a better position than they are.

this is probably the simplest way to deal with floaties. If I'm not going to kill or get a decent edgeguarding opportunity, I'll almost always end my guaranteed combo with a dair and then try to follow it up, preferably with another dair as that will lead to pretty much whatever you want.

An important thing with dair tech chases is to make sure that when you do it you aren't too high up in the air. If you do this, they will definitely have time to get away or even counter you, and you might get put in a really bad position (like directly above a kirby and you have no jumps left). So try to plan ahead as best you can, and if you need to stop an uair combo a few uairs early so you have more time to react to a tech chase, that's definitely okay and even preferred in some instances.

I'm 16 years late to the party, but here I am. XD So, any pro tips for a beginning Falcon?
Welcome to the party!

Here's a few ideas off of the top of my head:
- practice short hop -> fair/nair -> grab (there is no SHFFL)
--- this combos easily into Falcon's aerials
- get good at pivoting
--- learn to pivot off of platforms, pivot -> grab, and pivots to continue combos
- practice ledge stalling and ledge hop aerials
--- ledge hop bair/dair edgeguards are key
- u-smash is a good combo starter
- learn how to get the soft hitbox on nair to continue combos
--- also the second hit of fair is a good combo tool

Differences from other games:
- gentleman (jab 3 times) isn't too useful in this game
- up-b is a good combo finisher in this game
- you can't retain invincibility when you let go of the ledge so be careful
- no need to jump cancel grabs
- l-cancelling nullifies lag completely so get used to dashing afterwards to follow up
- use walls to continue falcon combos because there is no wall teching
- his nair is a sex kick so.. that's different
- falcon kick doesn't restore your second jump, beware

P.S. There's probably a lot more to learn but these are some tips for people switching from another version.
Also, this isn't a succinct guide to Falcon so... ask for more info :)

Thanks for the info! I've gotten off some great combos with f throw > fair/uair > other stuff. Loving Falcon so far.
I've played 64 casually longer than any other Smash game, but going back and unlocking Falcon made me want to get better with him.

I forgot to mention that Falcon's dash dance is great.

Reverse ledge dash is also good
- dash towards the ledge, quickly return the analog stick to neutral, and upon reaching the ledge, dash in the opposite direction

- it's a good mix up when you also use dash offstage -> double jump bair back onstage

What is everyone's opinion on playing Falcon on Congo? I know it lacks ledge DI which is super useful for recovering (which is important as Falcon) but it also has smaller blast zones so your combos can kill easier (like a double hit fair > uair > upb on pika that wouldn't kill on DL would kill on Congo)
