I remember when playing melee, I'd sometimes pick up the invisibility cloak and die through sheer stupidity. While i realize there's no way around this, I thought, in Wi-Fi it could be different. Basically, if i'm on wi-fi and I pick up the invisibility cloak, I think it should be that I could see myself as if nothing happened. On the other person's screen they wouldn't be able to see. It would be easy to implement and I think a good Idea.

The cloaking device only gave me problems when I was at medium/high percentages and got hit fairly hard. I sometimes had trouble figuring out where I was and often died because I couldn't find myself before I had fallen too far to save myself.

I don't really think that it would work as well on wifi as you are saying, because part of the device is the fact it also takes knowledge of your character and strategy to use it properly. If you were completely visible on your screen, but invisible to everyone else and couldn't take damage... kind of overpowered?

I don't really see a point in it besides a little variety. I can see myself as easily as I can see my opponents when they use it.

Though thats a good idea for over Wi-Fi.

i say that if you are playing on wi-fi, you have items off (unless you would like the smash ball, that is only good item) or at all times, items off

i hate the cloaking device, it's only good for computer players and they're awful anyway. Next time you want a bit of a challenge in melee, cloaking devices on high and a team of 3 against you

I think the point of the cloak was to hinder yourself as much as your opponents. The thing about the cloak was that, not only does it grant pretty good invisibility, but it also gives you immunity to damage. Once you use it enough, you can pretty much see anything cloaked, be it yourself or opponents. That may be tough on an old TV, though, but still, Cloak doesn't seem that hard to use. And, as I said, the invisibility isn't even the best part, the invulnerability is.

Edit: This may be just me, though, as far as seeing it goes. I'm well known for being the only one of my friends who can distinguish a poison shroom from a mega mushroom on sight. I may just have above average eyes.

I'm just praying that the cloaking device is still a loose reference to Perfect Dark. Joanna for Brawl ftw.
It's from the Metal Gear franchise, I'm sure of it. Even the Cloaking device looks like the one Otacon gives you in the first game. That may apply to the Motion Sensor Bomb as well. Why do I think it's MGS? Because Snake was supposed to be in Melee apparently.

Btw, PDZ sucked compared to the original.

Clocking device: You SHOULD take damage if your opponent can't see you online. You just see an outline or an alpha'd down version of yourself.
You should still be able to hear your enemy, and see things like smoke puffs (for WDers XD).
It would be awesome.

yeah see, I never picked it up for the purpose of getting cloaked, its pretty easy to keep track of where you are, especially, if you keep a name posted over your head. I picked it up for the no damage.

It should stay the same, in my opinion.
