I picked melee back up the other weekend for a tournament. I was doing very well but I know theres alot of things I should be doing better. Ive been pretty busy reppin brawl link so i rarely play melee but I still love the game. It's a really weird transition for me so I kinda lost insight on alot of the melee character matchups. If you guys know anything that could help my melee game than please feel free to let me know.

You seem to approach them with FJ Pulling out the bomb. in your second vid i saw you do that a bunch of times and you pretty much got punished. Boomrang or bomb to fair, nair, dair ***** both peach and dk.
the only thing i didnt see you do is Up B oos. =(
well you might of done it but, i might of missed it.
but yeah projectile combos and Up B oos more =D

Not really washed up. You seemed to be playing too aggressively, but that was probably because of the Brawl -> Melee transition and wanting to move fast/approach. It was solid, just really aggressive. I constantly expected the DK to upB you whenever a nair touched his shield.

edit: It was really solid otherwise.

He speaks truth, You have an over all solid link and a good understanding of spacing, but as skler already said, to aggressive.

Thanks for the advice, I was constantly wondering why the hell was I fj pulling bombs across the stage and I can see where I still had the brawl mentality. Ill remember to cut back on the aggressive play and wait for my openings. Thanks

Yea, slow down, that aggression will get you ****ed by top tier. In the last match, on the last stock once you started spamming some more you ended up pulling ahead, but then you abandoned it for some reason. You kinda overused the upb, i know he was in kill range but maybe wait for an out of shield opening or pogo. In terms of frames, the pogo is the less punishable option for killing. Also, bair to double jump nair is IMO almost a better option than bair to bair. Big thing, you should work on your DI, that peach fthrow was definitely survivable and easy to see coming and you shoulda tried to DI out of those DK juggles a bit more, link can surive to 180 and up on final D with best DI (****ing aniki making us all look bad)
