MINIGAMES (IDEAS)

Sports Games

Shell Shockby Darkmega
A simple yet fun dodging game. The only items required are Shells, boxes, and perhaps bob-ombs. And also a stage which has two walls and a jump in the center.
| |
| |
| ____ |
|__/ \__|
(something like that.)
No platforms or anything, just normal bricks, with the bottom being ice other than the ramps which can't be. The aim? get a group of friends and start throwing shells around. Eventually you'll find the place filling up with lots of koopa death and everyone will start bounces around like mad. Winner is the survivor. You can pick up the shells and toss them, but there are no straight out meleeing others out of the area. you can however use attacks to deflect shells and roller boxes onto other people.

Waddle Dee SoccorBy Ganaloth7395
Description/Original Quote:
Waddle Dee Soccer
Players: 3 - Anonymous, anonymous, King Dedede
Stage: Okay, read carefully:
Row 1: 12th space from the left, normal block
Row 2: same here
Row 3: 6th-8th spaces from the left, normal blocks. then 12th space from the left, normal block
Rows 6-8: on the very left and the very right, put those structures that look like this at smallest size:
------------
````|
````|
````|
------------
Ignore the `s.
Row 10: Normal blocks in spaces 4-15.
Rules: King Dedede stands on the small platform. He uses Waddle Dee Toss (side+B) facing the wall (he can use it as much as he wants, but can't use it to get rid of a Waddle Dee/Waddle Doo). Waddle Dee/Waddle Doo falls down. Then, players must knock them in the goal (self explanatory). If he throws a capsule or gordo don't worry; the wall takes care of them.
Waddle Dee: 1 point
Waddle Doo: 3 points
2 Waddle Dees and/or Waddle Doos: Multiply the normal amounts by 2. Ex: One of each is 8 points.
It's actually quite fun ^.^
Smash Hockey!
Original Quote/ Description
Stage: Large, in the Desert Ruins style backdrop. Lay a bunch of Ice blocks in a straight pattern. The goals are a structure in the desert ruins that, well, looks like a big, square goal.
Players: Players can be either Ice Climbers or King Dedede. You can have both players be the same characters.
Play: Ice climbers are trying to shoot ice blocks into the opposite goal, and King Dedede tries to throw Waddle Dees. Each one has their own advantages.
Ice Climbers: shoot two ice blocks that keep going until they melt. You also get two players. Excellent traction on ice.
King Dedede: Waddle dees last longer and are tougher to destroy than ice blocks. Can also suck up enemy "pucks".
Football (American) by BloodMagnumX
Original Quote "Hey, why not a game like American football? Have a Mr. Saturn or other object, and set up a level with lines running across the bottom like yard lines. There could be up to two players on each team, and there could even be a field goal at each end. Points would be scored just like in football, with touchdowns and field goals. It would be interesting to see what characters players would use. If Samus still has her dash attack, that's pretty much a football tackle..."
Description-There is a Mr. Saturn, who acts as the ball. There could be 4 players (2 on each team.) A decent sized knockback or an attack that knocks the player holding the ball down. There can be pass plays and running plays. There can be interceptions
Tennis
by BloodMagnumX
Original Quote/DescriptionBasically, two or four players get on opposite sides of a solid "net" and hit a ball back and forth. Standard tennis rules and scoring apply. Sounds simple, right? Well with all of the attacks the Brawl charaters have, it really isn't... Ness and Lucas could use their PK attacks to bounce the ball around, Samus could use bombs to keep the ball off from the floor, the space animals could use their reflectors, R.O.B. could fly around, the list goes on... Mr. Saturn, although he would be great, would be difficult to use, as players might accidentally catch him. But there's a solution: items. Things like beam swords or home-run bats could be used in place of ground attacks. This would open up even more ways to play this minigame.
Golf by fransisco
Original quoteI have an idea for a minigame. Its like golf but wth i the smash touch. You make a course with several obstacles like pits(it means holes right??), columns(??), spikes moving plataforms, etc. The goal is to send the ball(most likely a football ball, anyone has a better idea?) to the end of the course. But you canno walk while holding the item. So you have to hit it with your moves or a lasser sword or a bat. And you have to hurry up because the item will desappear. When it does you start from the last spot u hit it.
Description (Yet to come)
Hoopla by BloodMagnumX
Original quote/ descriptions"A game similar to basketball, where there is one ball, but many goals. Up to four players can play, and teams can be formed. Each wall of the court has two goals, and there is a floating goal in the middle. A system of conveyor belts, drop blocks, and slanted blocks keep the balls feeding in from the top, while regulating where they go and how often they fall. Points are scored based on the baskets, as there is a top goal and a bottom goal on each wall. Scoring in the top goal gets you two points, while scoring in the bottom goals or the one in the middle nets you one point. Things like wall jumping and other moves that get you higher in the air would be important to score big points. " DIAGRAM- http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh27/PunkJunkie0/HooplaStage.png
Hockeyby Django_EXE
Original quoteThis isnt much of an idea, but hockey could be made by using an ice stage, but otherwise like soccer
Description- Similar to soccer, 2-4 players on the ice. The stage is covered in ice. Peaople could use eam swords as hockey sticks. A soccerball is the puck.
Dodegballby (Forget his name)
Original quote/Descrition There can be 2-4 players (2 per team). There are many bomb ombs in the middle. At the "GO" both teams can rush for the bomb ombs and throw them at each other. The last team standing wins.
Dodgeball! (ALTERNATIVE) by Akiak
Original quote/DescritioonStage must be flat, with a wall on each side but with a big gap between the two walls. The characters MUST have projectiles. Basically one character on one side shoots a projectile against the other trying to hit him. The victim must try to dodge them.
After 5 shots, see how much damage was taken by the victim. If it is higher than a certain percentage, then the shooter wins. Otherwise the victim wins.
Dodegball (2nd ALTERNATIVE)
Original quote"Anyway, have you seen Dodgeball, the movie with bem Stiller?? I was thinking about the sudden death they play at the near end and i think a good stage. It would be a mid size stage with a spike for floor and no ceiling. Only with 2 blocks one in each side. The idea is to play in this with knockback set on 50-100% and with any if these chars:Falco, Wolf, Ness, Fox, Lucas, Samus,Pit and the other projectiles launchers i cant think of right now. I guess you get the idea by now but if you dont i explain: One character starts on the left block, the other in right. Then you have to use you projectiles to make the other guy fall.And since the knockback is high he will lose a life.Of course you can use any rule you want for exampl 0%,10%,200% knockback.U can even use Yoshi and make a laser gun spawns in his place.e"
Description There are two blocks. 1 person per block. Each person must have a serious knockback range attack. The players are at a high percentage. They must try to knock each other off.
Baseball! (kinda)
by Akiak
Original quote"Stage is very big and flat with a big wall on one side. You can add obstacles in the middle but maintaining the flatness. P1 throws a Mr. saturn to P2 as strong as possible. P2 has a baseball bat and must hit the Mr Saturn and shoot him as far as possible.After the shot, P2 runs to where P1 is and they race to who gets the Mr. Saturn first!"
Description There are two players. One is holding a bar and is the "Batter", the other holds a saturn and is the "Pitcher". The Pitcher throws the saturn and the batter will hit it as hard as he/she can. Then if the saturn if still on-screen then the two players get an even distance from the saturn and race to it.
ALTERNATIVE When the saturn is knocked out the batter must run to the opposite side of the stage and back to his plate, while the pitcher tries to get the sautrn and come back to the batters plate.
Basketball by Django_EXE
Original quote "It's like soccer, but the goal is in the air (two blocks with a space in between), and points are 2 from half-court or less, and 3 from farther (this seems like a fair distance, but I don't have brawl yet, so you can adjust this if this doesn't work)"
DescriptionNearly identical to soccer. 2-4 players. Uses the soccer ball. Two "hoops (two blocks with a gap in the middle). Hitting the ball into the hoop gives a point to the respective team. EDIT: Would be much easier using Mr. Saturn as the ball.
Basketball 2by Kuronekokun
Description/ Original quote Long post warning!
Here's my version of Smash Bros. Basketball after getting a few ideas from this thread. (added my own as well).
You start out on top, which is kind of like a rest / bench area, and ride the conveyor belt to the court. (The conveyor belts also serves the purpose of delivering soccer balls to the playing field.)The court itself is one flat line (no ice or anything... the ice blocks below and such are all for aesthetic value; although I have been thinking about making Ice / falling blocks / spike / etc. courts as well.)Anyway, the idea is to hit the soccer ball items into the other team's basket.
You can bound soccer balls off the back walls, but if they fall in the space behind the basket, it's out of play. (you have to wait for a new soccer ball).
You have to keep track of the score yourself, as the balls disappear after a while.
Even if a soccer ball spawns in one of the baskets, it doesn't count as a point.
Items on few or normal is recommended... High gets a bit chaotic at times :p
There are a few camera issues when you play in standard Vs. mode, though, so I've been trying to come up with a fix. (the issue is that you can't see the whole court, so even if you take a shot towards the basket, there's no way to see if it went in or not.)
Here are two options that kind of work:
http://aycu17.webshots.com/image/45936/2001962249884422086_rs.jpg :
(1 vs 1 matches only)
Go into training mode, spawn three CPUs, place two of them in the out-of-play area behind the baskets on opposite ends. This will keep the camera pretty much spot-on the entire court while you play.
Pros: Great view (compared to others :p)
Cons: You have to spawn your own soccer balls / only two people can be active at a time.
I only tested it with one item, but it seems 300% would be a pretty good fix for the camera issues if you don't mind being tossed around constantly. (If you master Ukemi (teching), you could probably have pretty decent matches).
Camera
Standard - hard to see where ball goes.
Fixed - See everything, pretty small.
Training* - Best view, for 1 vs 1 only, spawn your own items.
300% - Players fly around often, making it easier to see than Standard.
Items
Mr. Saturn - soft, disappear quickly, hard to get in goal.
Soccer Ball - Nice angle, packs a punch, chaotic matches.
Home run Bat + Sand bag** - Nice angle, slower matches.
Unila (Spiked ball) - Easy to score, becomes a hazard if you miss.
Design Description
Conveyor belts across the top with an opening in the middle for items to fall through to the court. Hit/throw items into opponent's goal basket. Use any item combination you want, I've tested 4 setups so far.
Notes
* - How to use training mode camera: place a CPU character behind the goals on opposite ends.
** - Home run bat + Sand bag: use bats to hit sand bags into the goal.
a) Use whatever rules you want, don't have to play by mine. (hitting characters allowed, etc.)
b) If you have 4 controllers, you can use the training mode camera for standard and have 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 tag matches.
Custom Target Smash
by Ho-oh
Original Quote/ Description:
You know target smash? You can make your own, the targets are a little different than in the normal target smash(and it can only be three), but it works.
First, make a stage like you want your target smash to be, place a ice block on the square under where the targets shall be(the place the targets am should be empty). Now, save your stage and go to a special brawl/training (choose stamina if its special brawl), then you need 4 controllers(if you do it on training and have one GC controller, then you just need one), make 4 players, make player 1 have 150 stamina on special brawl(make him be the character you control on training if you do it on training), the 3 others will have 1 stamina/999% and be a very small character. Then, choose the stage you made.Place the small characters on the ice blocks(just change the port of the GC controller and move the small characters many times if you do it on training with one GC controller), and go to where you should start with the character you use.Now, count to three and destroy the targets(the small characters am the targets) as fast as possible.
Shell Tennisby Akiak
Original Quote/ Description:Theres a flat platform and theres a wall in the middle with a gap at the bottom to make the shell pass through. Also make it so that they cant jump and dodge the shell that way.
So make some sort of low cieling.
At the beginning of the match spawn a shell and make one character pick it up.
He throws it against his foe. The foe must use an attack to send it back the other direction.
When a player gets hit by the shell its one point for the other. But I would use the % for remembering points.
Egg Catcher
Original quote/ Description
Rules:
Settings: 300%, items on high (smoke balls / bomb-ombs / other?)
I have 4 players in mind, but maybe less would work as well. (2 kirby players + 2 Item tossers)
Kirby players (Right side) - Attacks allowed: neutral B (Kirby suck) / Shield. (maybe jumping or movement as well...)
Eating an item = +1 point
Eating a bomb = -1 point
Getting blown up / knocked out = Game over until the next round starts.
(You must be either shielding to deflect bombs or Kirby sucking to catch items at all times.)
Item tossers (Left side) - Attacks allowed: item toss (weak / strong).
your job is to work together with your team mate and toss items towards the Kirby players at a manageable pace.
Design: something like this v
Bomb Rain by Demon Kirby
Original Quote/Description
Items: Bomb-ombs, Smart Bombs, and Motion-Sensor Bombs, and exploding crates, all on high.
Stage: an almost boxed-in stage with conveyor belts for the top of the box, with a small hole in the center. The middle of the base of the box must be one block further down than the rest, so the bombs collect in it (or explode in it). The drop must be long eough so that most Bomb-ombs explode while airborne or shortly after landing.
Mode: stamina
Damage Ratio (that's still in, correct?): 0.5
The Goal: to KO your opponent with explosians, but at a risk. You can either attempt to throw your opponent into the hole if there's an active or falling Bob-omb, or go in and grab an explosive and throw it at your foe or plant it on the stage.
Alternative Play:
Damage Ratio: 2.0
Stage: same as before, except with one, small, block sized hole on each side.
Mode: stock
The Goal: to knock the opponent out of the stage through the small holes.
Prisoners by Ekul
Original Quote/DescriptionThis game is utilizing the Unbreakable Box concept, where you have three walls with no escape with at least one fall down block at the top. In fact, there should only be one fall down for this match. Anyway, the purpose of this match is to get someone stuck in your prison, then escape before seals itself. This would require some terrain in the middle, and two prisons on either side. Similar to this is the variant, escape from prison.
There is one labrinth prison and one platform in an upper corner. The goal is to land on it without getting killed by the other player. The other player either has to kill, or prevent the other player from reaching his goal.
EDIT: Both cases could have time limits or multiple players. The first one would be free for all or teams, the other would be either all team up on the escapee, or 2v2. If time runs out on the second one, the winner is the people who are trying to prevent the prisoner from leaving.
King of The Hill by Trae
Original quoteOne raised platform, two others where people spawn. Ummm... All fighting has to be done on the raised platform, etc.
Description There are three platforms. 2 are on a lower level then the third, you must try and stay at the top for as long as you can.
Team Capture the Flag
Original quote/ Description "
I got one! Capture the flag. Basically, you have a stage with 3 floors, 2v2, and you have several beam swords on each side of the stage, ontop of special towers on each floor. You have to hurt your opponent to have them out. Once you're hit, you stop moving, and go to where your opponent's flag (beamsword is), and they must wait there until 1 minute in jail, and then they must run back to their side of the field in order to become active in the game again. Basically, you grab the beamsword (I think we should have beam swords on very high, and make it to where you can only get beam swords spawning in the three towers. You must grab one, and get it on your side of the field to win, or score a point (IF you're playing points).However, once you grab the beam sword, you can't drop it. Also, in order to get tagged, you must be hit by a physical attack on the opponent's side of the field, unless you are on "the towers" where you get the flag (beamsword), where if you're hit by anything by a opponent, you go to jail (or rather, stay in jail). Team attack should be on, since it contains strategy (but you can't get out from being hit by your teammate), you could hit your partner back to your side with the flag, to the "towers" where the flag is kept, etc.
I think it'd be awsome. You could play as Meta Knight, Charizard, and/or Pit to fly over, in, around, through, or under the stage as a strategy. And you cannot physically hurt characters "in jail". However, the game is one stock, and if you get KO'd, your done, so playing a heavy slow character like Bowser or Donkey Kong could be a good strategy that way."
TOUCHDOWN!
by Akiak
Original quote/description"Two players start at the top on a platform as high as possible. On "Go!" they must fall to the bottom before the other and land on a moving platform at the bottom of the stage. First to "touchdown" wins."
Capture the Flag by hippochinfat
Original quote "It's sort of like capture the flag.
It's gonna be a big stage with "bases" on both sides. You can do it with 2 players but it works best with 4. There's a big gap beetween the 2 bases and each base has an entrance from the top with a ladder going down the top. There are spikes at the bottom of the gap. Each base has some sort of item in it and you have to take the item and bring it back to your base. You'll have to have your item in your base as well to actually get a point!"
Description- There will be two forts, there will be a gap between them. Within the both forts will be an item. The objective is to get into the enmy's base and retrieve the item, and bring it to you base to score a point.
Saturn Hog(Full Name!) by tirkaro
Orginal quote-"In this game, you have to make a stage of any size, with 2 narrow "buckets" on each side. Then, make a 5-minute time match with only Mr. Saturns on, on very high. Each game is only 4 minutes. What you have to do is get as many Mr. Saturns into your bucket until 4 minutes are up. Then use the other minute to count your Mr. Saturns. Whoever had the most saturns in their bucket wins.
diagram- http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/8301/diagrm3gc5.png "
DescriptionThere are 2 "buckets" with walls on both sides. The buckets are on separate sides of the stage. The match is 5 minutes.Mr. Saturn is the only item on. 4 Minutes are spent getting as many saturns in your bucket as you can. 1 min is for counting them. Most saturns wins.
The Groggy Ring!(unofficial name)by tirkaro
Description / original quote- "There must be 4 players, and must be played on a very large stage. You can add many hazards, twists, and turns, but it must be generally horizontal. The stage also must be entirely sealed so that nobody can die.there are two teams. One teammate must be the "ballman." The ballman basically acts as a living ball. And there's the "Offense," who must bring the other team's ballman into thier goal. Here's the diagram- http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/3696/diagrm1np1.png
Racing Games
Gardening Race by Leethoof
Original Quote
A two (possibly four if your good a stage-making) player game where one is Mario and the other is Squirtle. You play on a symetrical stage (divided in the middle with a wall) with a bunch of green springs representing plants in hard to reach/ faraway places. When one of you says go, you both try and water all the plants on your side (with FLUDD/ water spray) as fast as you can. First one done wins.
The Great Walljump Raceby Flamingo
Original Quote:
Make a 2-line perpendicular stage like...
... _....._
.... |.....|
___|__|____
And both use TLs, Sheiks, Squirtles, Lucarios etc, and whoever wall-jumps to the top the fastest wins! (No attacking allowed of course.... Or should there be attacking!? :p
Also this is completely optional but all players could start on the same side, and without attack on, they can toadstool each other, and with it on, they can duke it out to see who gets to the top first!
(Ignore the '.''s the model wouldn't appear properly if I didn't use them.)
Description: There are 2 sets of Walls, with a platform at the top, both competitors must jump up first to win, or alternatively they can only be on one set of walls, and fight each other rot the top.
Race to the GoalBy DJ Kat
Original Quote/Description
Characters must make their way to the goal box, while avoiding dangerous obstacles, while staying on the predetermined path. It's a race not only against time, competing for the high score, but for your life! The rules are simple: Stay on the path, 1-2 players, no fighting, no items, fixed camera mode, and 1 HP stamina mode.
Although each stage was originally designed for Mario, many characters can complete them in record time; However, Olimar, Ivysuar, Ike, Ganondorf, and Snake have been known to fail at these challenges quite often, but there are times where they overcome the impossible. This mini-game will test not only your reaction and mobility with your characters, but your knowledge of the game's mechanics and test your sanity!
Trap Castleby Akiak
Original Quote/Description:
2-4 players
Stamina mode you start with 1-10 %
You have a large flat platform on the bottom. You can add obstacles but keeping it horizontal.
On top are lots of big platforms made of falling blocks and lots of normal and moving platforms.
Player 1 is on the left side of the bottom platform and must get to the other side
All the other players are on the top and can use all kinds of items and falling blocks to stop Player 1 from getting there. If he makes hit he wins. Otherwise they win.
Temple of Doom by wodan46
Original Quote/DescriptionStage is enclosed and of middling size, with fairly high degree of elaborate paths and traps
The game is stamina mode, and players start with 20 hp
Items: Very High, Food and Bobombs only
Essentially, players run around the maze grabbing food to increase their HP beyond negligible levels, while the Bobombs are a nasty stage hazard.To win, you must be the only person alive, and must do so before 3 minutes passes.
Tower Challenge (new name pending)by BloodMagnumX
Original quote/Description
"Up to three can play. The game must be set to an infinite time match (Time=none). One "dummy" player (Kirby or another light-weight is best) is placed at the end of a tiered tower. Players must race down through the tower, avoiding obstacles and attacks from other players. Then they must drag, launch, and otherwise get the dummy up the tower. Once back at the top, the player with the dummy with throw or hit it out of the tower, scoring a point. Now, here's the catch. Players can easily steal the dummy, and they can even hit it on the way down to convert it to their side, so a good bit of fighting will happen. This really makes any character a viable one to use, since each character has its strengths and weaknesses. For example, D.K. can pick the dummy up and carry it, but then he's wide open to attack, and moves slowly. Characters with good aerials would do better just hanging around up top and trying to steal a point. It's a game of skill, and a variety of levels can be made for it."
Tour De Brawl by Brawler 1432 (me)
Original quote (no original quote)
Definition- All players start on the ground level of a big sized stage. They must climb ladders, run up ramps, ect to get to the top. There will be obstacles on the way up (blocks in the way,moving platforms in the way, paths going nowhere) The players can attack each other. There are no items. There is only one life per person. The finish is a small closed-in box (exept for the top) covered sometimes by moving platforms, where a hammer is.[/SIZE][/I][/U][/B]
Ninja Warrior by RAAR
Description/ original quote-"Players start on the wall jump then run past the falling blocks They traverse the crazy moving platforms over the spike pit. Then they run over to the ladder hop were more falling blocks slow you down then the final obstacle. The Spiky triple wall teck. They only have 60 seconds to complete this course and be crownd NINJA WARRIOR! What your talking about sound more like a multi player race. This is of course only one example of a ninja warrior stage and someone could possibly make another one even more challenging.
ALTERNATIVE The player is out if their percentage reaches 1 or higher.
Fighting Games
Kings and Fightersby Darkmega
Original Quote/Description
Best played with a full group, or two with a pair of due CPs with low AI. The aim? Have it on stamina, one player is set to the king. AKA, he has about 50 HP. The others are set to fighters. 200 or more HP. Simply, kill the other teams king, before they kill yours. or defeat their fighter in which case the king surrenders. A separate version is where the fighter has to either kill or CAPTURE the king to their base. The king would primarily be a surpreme character such as Ike, or ganon etc. Fighters would primarily be light people. Projectile spamming rules can be implemented so that you don't get people just flinging projectiles to pwn the king instead.
Hazard Zoneby Darkmega
Original Quote/Description
This is my favourite type of stage. XD. this game involves making a stage consisting primarily of falling platforms... you get the drill now right? brawl over these floating falling platforms and try to knock each other off. Another version includes trying to box people inside where the there is just an massive mound of fall blocks stacked ontop of each other and the aim being to try to get each other trapped inside and mass once they respawn. I like to call that version "avalanche".
The True Falcon Punch Game by Darkmega
Original Quote/Description
This is an epic game called the true falcon punch game. Simply put, you vs captain falcon in a normal brawl, like you normally would, but with a twist. If he manages to hit you with a falcon punch it's a one hit game over. (just suicide it afterwards). The aim is to beat him as many times as possible without getting falcon punched. In a competitive style, this is best played with a friend and the first to get falcon punched loses. You can even have a friend be captain falcon for extra brokeness.... makes an epic youtube vid if you can record and edit it as put by my friend DelusionalZ here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2F0L73BY5A
and like i always say, the more falcons the merrier... if someone could make a PSA to fuel this somehow to make the falcon punch remove all you lives it one shot that would be cool. then you wouldn't have to suicide all the time once you got hit.
The Capsule (and box) Gameby Darkmega
This one makes a nice party game. sort of a style of russian roulette or something. just set it to 300% on 2.0 attack power and play. But don't attack each other.... you're probably thinking wtf? but here's the rules. Set your items to:
Item containers
Bob-ombs
Deku nut
mines and sticky mines
Smart bombs
Pitfalls
Freezy
Star
Warpstar
Food and other healing items
Smashball
After that, while playing, if any random items appear throw them off. you're only worried about boxes etc. Take it in turns to grab a capsule or box and toss it at the ground. as we all know sometimes these *******s explode so you get the point now. If they don't explode they'd give you items. Here's what each item does to you.
Bob-omb: Get this and you have to blow yourself up with it... get 4...well...x4 suicide... -.-
Deku-nut: This is an explosive for someone else. Just chuck it in someones face. if you've got multiple players, they're allow to spot dodge it if they can, but one on one, you gotta get hit. Only reason multiplayer is alright is so that skilled players can dodge out of it if people gang up on them. This goes for all other items which attack the other players btw, just so I don't have to mention that again.
Mines: Toss it out but note that, if anyone goes to toss something at you...they get exploded instead. the only way to remove the buff is to get someone hit by it. :p so someones gonna take the fall eventually to remove this attack "shield".
Stickymines: Toss it at someone, but they can pass it on. There's no dodging out of this one regardless, but that's the reason there's the return to sender option.
Smart bomb: this is for everyone else but you. Get one of these nasty dudes and you can toss it at everyone else and get out of the way. if it's a dud however, you gotta die yourself. :p
Pitfalls: these allow you to toss it at someone, or set it as an anti-trap like the mine. Getting hit results in the thrower getting a free normal shot on you.
Freezy: another one for the other person. Just toss it in their face and hope it hit's em.
Star: This gives you total invulnerablity to one round of bad ****. so if you get this then a party balloon full of bob-ombs count yourself lucky. But it runs out after your next turn.
Warpstar: always my personal favorite. the finder has to pick the closest edge and do a warpstar suicide if possible from their current distance. :p
Food and healing: pick it up and get healed. you got let off the hook so to speak.
Smashball: pick this up and all unlucky players have to get final smashed by you. if it's a transformation, one kill only, if you kill twice you gotta suicide to equal it out.
Best played with a set of about 15 or more lives.
Crate Surfing
Make a stage with many slanted surfaces and a flat surface at the top of at least one of the slants, basically a "track", preferably with a ceiling big enough for you to be standing on a crate. Enclosed walls at the bottom area of the stage are preferable, unless you want to ramp off of the edge!
Next, go into Training Mode with as many other players as you want. Spawn a Rolling Crate at the top of the track, or at the flat part, stand on it, and use an attack (varies between characters; uncharged dsmash or dtilt often works) so your crate begins to roll with you on top of it. Direction that you roll in may vary depending on what attack you use and where you were standing, so it may take some practice to get it right, along with track adjustments to make the crate roll longer.
Put items like bumpers, Bomb-ombs, etc. (or players, for teh lulz when they go flying, preferably at 999% xD) in your way if you like, to make obstacles or a "brake".
Gourmet Race by Jimneymebob
Original Quote The design is based off the part with all the dips after the 3rd set if blocks on Gourmet Race course 1. It is a large stage, and the stage is at the bottom of the screen.It will be a Stamina flower fixed camera brawl, and each player will play as Kirby (or another kirby character). Items except food will be turned off, and placed on high.The aim of the game is to be the last one standing by collecting the most food. You can play with or without attacking the other players, but without is better.
Metal Gear Solid by B12C13
Original QuotePlayer 1 will be Snake, and Players 2, 3, and 4 will be R.O.B.s. The goal is to get to the exit point without being spotted. If Snake is spotted, all R.O.B.s will attack until Snake finds a hiding spot and hides for at least 10 seconds. The match will be in Stamina Mode, with Snake's health at 100HP and the R.O.B.s at 200HP.
Description Player 1 is Snake, 2,3,and 4 are ROBs, Snake must sneak by the ROBs, and try to get to the end of the stage. If he is spotted he must hide in a hidden area for 10 secinds, the stages can vary upomn what you want for difficulty.
PRISON BOX!By sniperfire
Original QuoteThe goal of the game is to stay alive the longest. The Mode is 1 stock no teams items are high.
The custom stage should be a closed box in the middle with one block size opening.In the opening, put a donut block.
This makes it so when the characters go in, they cant come out.4 players required.Only 3 people allowed in the box at a time and someone must be in the box at all times.
After someone gets eliminated, only 2 people allowed in box.
After another gets eliminated, then there is a 1vs1 on the out side of box.
Strategies: if 2 or 3 players are fighting in the box with high damage, run over the donut block and create an opening for someone to shoot out of and get eliminated.
Bowser's Castle by Kindrom
Original quote
This game uses Mario and Bowser in Training mode. First create a stage that works like this picture:
I made the stage with a little two-block hole on the left side. On the right side, there is a tree stump on which the hammer/axe goes and then two blocks below, a section of blocks 2 units wide and thick. The bridge is slightly shortened and made of the blocks that fall after stepping on them.
The way to play this is to go to Training Mode, and set the Player to Bowser, and the CPU to Mario/Luigi. Go to this stage, and have Bowser go right next to the tree stump and spawn one Golden Hammer so that the hammer is on the tree stump. Walk off the bridge and set Mario's % to 999 or a lower handicap if the Bowser player is good. The damage ratio needs to be set to 2.0. Or at least it helps.
Mario is given three or five tries to kill Bowser. Of course, it is expected for you to go past Bowser and use the Golden Hammer, which Bowser is forbidden to use. All techniques are allowed. It's quite an interesting game, especially since the game isn't necessarily over when Mario grabs the hammer. It doesn't have much depth, but it gives me a good dose of nostalgia.
Shooters ShootoutBy Finding Waldo
Original Quote/Description
I created a custom map entirely for a game that I call "Shooter's Shootout". This game can either be played 1v1 or 2v2.
First, the only weapons allowed are cracker launchers. Put them on High for a better chance of them appearing.
Next, set the damage ratio to 2.0 and play Super Sudden Death.
If I could see the pictures for my Custom Stages, I would send a link to the stage, but I can only see snapshots with my current programs, so I cannot do so.
Anyway, the stage is symmetrical, with a medium-sized side-to-side elevator at the top. One player from each team stands on the platform, and the contenders take one shot at a time to attempt to kill the other player.
Every person must pick the same character for fairness.
To decide who attacks first, pick a spot about equidistant from both players and shoot. Closest attacks first.
Attacking players can shoot any way they wish in their attempt to kill their enemies.
Defenders may move and jump so long as they do not fall off the platform. Any enemy that falls off the platform must forfeit a stock.
The last team standing obviously wins.
There are many variations, such as no jumping, or Meta Knight, or Falco, since different characters are different sizes and have different jumping abilities. My friends and I had great fun with this game. I hope you will too.
Pokemon BattleBy Akiak
Original Quote/Description:Standard Brawl 1 vs 1
Only Pokeballs on very high
Stamina mode
Basically you have a flat stage and theres a wall in the middle.
Theres a hole in the middle wall. There are also 2 walls oon each side to prevent falling off.
There is one player on each side and they must throw Pokeballs through the hole against the other player. Last man standing wins.
Players:2-4
GameMode:Stamina
Items: Guns only Very High (ray gun super, scope, craker launcher, bob-ombs, gooey bombs, Fire Flower,ect)
Recomened charicters (optional): Snake, Samus, Fox, Falco, Link, Toon Link, Pit)
The stage you make As large as possible within a closed box to avoid KOS. There should be vertical bloks stiking out of the ground that can be used as cover make shure that you utilize as mutch space as possible. Its really hard to be specific about what the stage should have;ill leave that up to you.
Basically what this does is it turns smash bros into a running and gunning shootem up. (thanks to the new move and shoot mechanic). Just keep shooting eachother untill your damage reaches zero. Pretty good two or three years down the line when raking up damage and getting kos starts getting stale again. Use of non projectile,gun, or reflecting attaks is highly discouraged.
Survival of the Fittest
by wodan 46
The game is stamina mode with 200 HP to start, but flower mode is also on, so you are constantly losing health. Items are set to food only, at very high. Last one standing wins. Stage large and complex, conveyor belts will ceiling off half the stage, and thus generate a few clumps of high food density areas.
This one is fun because even if you ate all the food, your HP would still probably go down, you can only postpone your death and hasten others.
Opinion
Yeah, it is rather unoriginal, but the only thing I didn't like about Stamina was that you still could be KO'd off stage, so this sort of fixes it. Since you can tech off the walls, it reminds me of Street Fighter."
Description It is a closed in area with 2 players. It is a stamina mode
I think I might make a stage based off this game in one of the early episodes of Avatar: the Last Airbender. I forgot what it was called, but IIRC, there were several tall thin platforms to jump amongst and players had to knock a ball into goals on either side. Of course, in the show, they had to bend air to do it.
With the physics of the soccer ball and a bunch of gaps to fall in, this might be hard, lol.
Here's mine: the groggy ring from the davy back fight arc in One Piece!
Here's how it works:
There must be 4 players, and must be played on a very large stage. You can add many hazards, twists, and turns, but it must be generally horizontal. The stage also must be entirely sealed so that nobody can die.
there are two teams. One teammate must be the "ballman." The ballman basically acts as a living ball. And there's the "Offense," who must bring the other team's ballman into thier goal. Here's the diagram-
the first one with 3 points wins.
Okay here's my idea. It's sort of like capture the flag. Okay, it's the exact same thing except you can attack the other team anywhere on the map.
It's gonna be a big stage with "bases" on both sides. You can do it with 2 players but it works best with 4. There's a big gap beetween the 2 bases and each base has an entrance from the top with a ladder going down the top. There are spikes at the bottom of the gap. Each base has some sort of item in it and you have to take the item and bring it back to your base. You'll have to have your item in your base as well to actually get a point!
People could get really creative with this and do some crazy stuff!!
Heh. If this thread gets big enough, we could start up the smashboards olympic games in the future. :p
also,
-Saturn hog!
In this game, you have to make a stage of any size, with 2 narrow "buckets" on each side. Then, make a 5-minute time match with only Mr. Saturns on, on very high. Each game is only 4 minutes. What you have to do is get as many Mr. Saturns into your bucket until 4 minutes are up. Then use the other minute to count your Mr. Saturns. Whoever had the most saturns in their bucket wins.
diagram-
Okay I made this in paint does this help?
Players start on the wall jump then run past the falling blocks They traverse the crazy moving platforms over the sike pit. Then they run over to the ladder hop were more falling blocks slow you down then the final objstacle. The Spiky triple wall teck. They only have 60 seconds to complete this course and be crownd NINJA WORRIOR! What your talking about sound more like a multi player race. This is ofcourse only one example of a ninja worrior stage and someone could possibly make another one even more challanging.
Shiek should have no problem with this.
Hey, why not a game like American football? Have a Mr. Saturn or other object, and set up a level with lines running across the bottom like yard lines. There could be up to two players on each team, and there could even be a field goal at each end. Points would be scored just like in football, with touchdowns and field goals. It would be interesting to see what characters players would use. If Samus still has her dash attack, that's pretty much a football tackle...
Unfortunately I heard that you can't set spawn points- they are automatically set on top of the level, so a completely enclosed stage isn't possible (they wouldn't be able to get in).
You could modify it to have one hole in the ceiling that all players can walk and fall into though. Or perhaps a more complex labyrinthine entrance so that no one can get smashed out of the level completely.
Ugh... It's an amazing addition to the game but they made Stage Builder so limited!
You could make one of the blocks in the ceiling a falling block, so it would disappear for a few seconds and everyone could get in. This all depends on if you can get smashed through the bottom of a falling block like you can a platform (Can you?).
Actually Im pretty sure you cann indeed configure spawn points, I've seen videos of totally inclosed stages.
you can have spikes or a falling block at the top and it'll work.
Dodgeball!
Stage must be flat, with a wall on each side but with a big gap between the two walls. The characters MUST have projectiles. Basically one character on one side shoots a projectile against the other trying to hit him. The victim must try to dodge them.
After 5 shots, see how much damage was taken by the victim. If it is higher than a certain percentage, then the shooter wins. Otherwise the victim wins.
TOUCHDOWN!
Two players start at the top on a platform as high as possible. On "Go!" they must fall to the bottom before the other and land on a moving platform at the bottom of the stage. First to "touchdown" wins.
Baseball! (kinda)
Stage is very big and flat with a big wall on one side. You can add obstacles in the middle but maintaining the flatness. P1 throws a Mr. saturn to P2 as strong as possible. P2 has a baseball bat and must hit the Mr Saturn and shoot him as far as possible.
After the shot, P2 runs to where P1 is and they race to who gets the Mr. Saturn first!
Um, I don't know. I'm not a big American football fan, I just though it might be a good idea. If I knew how you get a down, I would give an idea, but I don't...
Nice ideas Akiak,
@ BloodMagnum, I am amazed you specify "American" when your living in Georgia. :urg:
Anyways you get a "down" when someone is "tackled" meaning the person with the ball is flat on the ground... Did you not even watch the Pats nearly get a perfect season?
I like those ideas. Unfortunatley I found a dodgeball minigame similar to yours. I was just about to post it too. I can however put the two has seperate styles, or have yours as an alternative, how does that sound? As for the other ones, they're fine, and I can post em as seperate games :)
Like I said before you can just put special blocks as first down markers, it would be the best way.
Ninja Warrior would sound more fun if there were obstacles in it, and if you take 1% damage, you lose.
Ballman can technically be played in melee, first one to KO somebody's teammate wins.
ANNONCMENT- Please go to the opening post for the info about the games, I clarify things the original creater might have missed or said wrong. That is why on most Ides there is a original quote and a description to be more clear about how to play it, there is sometimes an alternative part to, to make an alternative part of the game to make it more fun.
I work a lot on the opening post to get every idea I can on there, and some I get from other forums or you tube so they might not appear in posts anyway.
Just please don't complain about people being unclear without reading the opening post.
Wow, this topic is awesome.
Question: in training mode, if you spawn an item, does it eventually disappear or will it stay forever?
