Yea, that's why I didn't take him to delfino haha. I know Ike is good there, and I've seen him do some great stuff there before. I was considering frigate and lylat, but we went so even in the first match on smashville that I though I could maybe win the second there. I'll try frigate next time, I like that stage a lot anyways. Haha. I also considered rainbow cruise, but I wasn't sure so I didn't go there.

lol don't get nervous <_<" Everyone is as good as you for the most part, though you probably don't realize it. Though you could do what I used to do. Only check the dedede boards and have no idea who is considered good and what not elsewhere and just in your own region since thats pretty hard to avoid. Like I've been playing competitively since 08 but when I went to MLG I had no idea who Malcolm or fatal were. Didn't really get bogged down since I didn't know who they were to begin with. No1 saw that **** coming lol.

i dont think playing the blind eye is a good idea, its good to study other big time players and see what makes them tick. I mean, they're good players for a reason right?

ike aether camps the ledges like a little beeyotch, full jump fair can hit you on the outside platforms from the main platform, and it auto cancles so you cant punish it.
you cant gimp ike there since he has water to save him, but his dair and jab down tilt are way more effective there since in situations where you would normally be able to momentum cancel and survive, you just rise up into the current, and that either kills you or sets u up to get ***** by ike more while youre in the water
ikes, f tilt, f smash, fair, bair and even jab combo can all kill at unreasonable percents if they hit you from the out side platforms. and the layout of the stage makes it very easy to manuver around and navigate the stage with quick draw.

you can gay him pretty hard at certain spots, you have a few walls, and walk offs at certain sections. Just make sure you watch for Dtilt as you ascend up with platforms or the carpets during that section.

most of the MW has japes as legal TC, i was CP to it by a TL in bracket at a local. Most other places outside of MW have it banned tho, same with norfair

And I just get so nervous. My hands are always shaking after a set whether I win or not lol

this is normal trust me. Whenever I play an intense set, my hands will be shaking....even when the match is over my hands will still be shaking. When I beat halzys snake, my hands were shaking in match and once the match was done, just ask for "some time to think" as a john to try to control your nerves down when your back in the char. list, that's what I do at least since they'll still be shaking unless I can get some time to control em. (I thought I was the only one with this problem, I'm glad to hear that other people deal with this crap <_<)

While I do realize that going into a match blind is not the best ideal mindset, it probably works for certain people. I know I do a **** load better when I don't put someone on this **** pedestal that doesn't exist. For others, they'd probably prefer to know their playstyle thru vids. w/e works for you, thats just how I go about things. Though at this point after MLG the temptation to know whos who was too great and now I know everyone for the most part. But I'm gonna try to cut back on PR lists and such. In the long run, your supposed to try your hardest against everyone, not just the people that are considered good.

if music works, go for it. I've tried that though, I can't hear the crucial brawl hits and stuns and what not which tends to make me play worse. Plus I tend to play towards the beat of the music so I get distracted a bit and lose focus. But if it works for you go for it.

This actually happened to me 3 weeks ago or so against ryo I regret delfino and lost the set. Lost the 1st match which shoudlve been mine due to clockout, and delfino suicided. I'm practicing the mu more but I keep hearing from mampam that I'm playing the mu wrong or something which I still have a hard time figuring it out.

You have to be REALLY REALLY patient against Ike. I disagree with the popular opinion that you don't need any matchup experience to beat Ike. Ike is one of the most gimmicky characters in the game and if you don't know each and every one of his gimmicks, he can make that matchup look pretty **** sizable.

ike doesnt have a projectile, and has 2 recoveries that arent exactly good, but having been to their social n watched them talk. They're all very well organized and often talk about match ups and different strats. Some of those being dash attack follow ups out of throws, walk off aerials, canceling QD with platforms or other things.

In my experience it comes down to being patient. Although this concept is applied to really a vast majority of DDDs mus.

Matchup inexperience for one. That's the biggest issue. My first time ever playing an Ike in tournament, and it just so happens to be perhaps the best one in the nation. Playing San the first time around, he gets you with these random walkoff spikes. Of course now, I know to watch out for these. If you recover low, he's gonna take a risk and try and spike you. If you see it coming, dodge, and swallowcide him. That's how I took a match from him in tourney.

Fair looks laggy, but it has them there IASA frames, so he can jab out of it quicker than you think. If you rush in after a spaced Fair, even if you power shield it, he'll still be able to Jab afterwards. If you block the Jab, chances are he's gonna cancel it. I have never EVER seen San miss Jab3, or even have it blocked.

And speaking of Jab Cancels, watch out for Jab2 > Utilt. I have no idea which way is the safest way to DI, because he has an answer for pretty much anything.

you can punish fair on shield, but only if you have a quick move that you can use out of shield and you dont have to run forward to use it, since the fair pushes you back a fair amount. if you power shield it in range you can grab it, otherwise its best to just go for the fair.

you should watch atomsks matches with san for tips. as atomsk is i believer 3 and 0 in sets with san at the moment.

i don't blame any ddds for losing to ike the first time tbh, especially reeeally good ones. i've played a few ikes but never the big two, so i'm a little concerned myself, but i think i'll be okay...my crewmate plays ike pretty **** well so i feel like i have a few ideas

after that first loss though...you're under the microscope!

also i forgot to say, shoutout to tusm for apparently improving hardcore; we never talk as much as we should at tournaments for some reason but he and the entire PA scene have been improving rapidly, so good stuff to them.
