Let's go out drinking to celebrate hyung. Also I tied with Raz at G3, heh.
People don't realize how hard it's going to be to pull off the movie like it's presented in the trailer. The trailer frequently made use of cuts, transitions, and action scenes in order to make the movie seem light hearted. However, imagine the trailer without Bohemian Rhapsody being played in the background. Or the trailer scenes as actual 2-3 minute sequences being played out. The promotional material is so well done that I think people aren't realizing that it's going to be very hard to pull off the body of the film like it's presented in the trailer.I will enjoy Suicide Squad, but I'm not all that impressed by what we're seeing. Which is too bad, because they made a truly inspired choice for writer/director in David Ayer, and the idea of Batman briefly appearing as an antagonist is kind of brilliant. But so many things about it are... bleh. At least Amanda Waller is actually middle aged. Getting so annoyed with all the attractive 25 year olds they keep casting her as for no good reason ugh it doesn't make sennnnnnsssssse
I think they're actually trying to use it to set up justice league, not solo franchises. They saw how well avengers did and they want in.Batman vs Superman slowly and paintstakingly convinced me it would be a real movie. But then they added Wonder Woman. And now apparently Aquaman is in it. And Doomsday. And... so on.
It has clearly eroded from "batman vs superman" and into "let's throw a bunch of **** in here to setup our solo franchises we're not confident will do well without pre-hype"
...well, then you're just wrong?I think they're actually trying to use it to set up justice league, not solo franchises. They saw how well avengers did and they want in.
You nailed my biggest issue with Batman vs Superman....well, then you're just wrong?
I mean, they absolutely are setting up Justice League, and it's absolutely all related to seeing how well Avengers did, but they are also setting up their solo franchises. Green Lantern was a bombastic turd, and they're not taking that risk again when even that relatively palatable and recognizable IP failed. So, what a surprise. They launch a new Superman franchise, and even that didn't do as well as they wanted it to even if it was still a money maker. So, enter Batman vs Superman. And then enter Wonder Woman and all these other characters crowding the **** out of this movie and making it clearly Justice League Zero.
Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Flash movies are all coming out in the next few years. DC is basically doing a reverse Marvel, by having draw characters like Batman and Superman prop less known or (in pop culture, not so much comic fandom) laughable characters like Aquaman or Wonder Woman. These movies are expensive to make, you can only make so many Green Lanterns.
Like, come on. Justice League doesn't need setup, though you could hardly do worse than a movie called ****ing Batman vs Superman. In the end though, that's a movie that sells itself. What they want is to sell everything else.
You know when superman pulls off batmans mask and smiles evily.Wait, Bizarro is in BvS? Are you sure? I never heard that. They've lost their god damn cookies if they're seriously doing bizarro and doomsday in the same ****ing movie
EDIT: I really enjoy Man of Steel. I think people that say it doesn't feel like superman kinda don't know what the hell they're talkin about. But it has a lot of bigtime flaws. Still, I'd have probably slobbered with appreciative love for the movie back in 2013 if I'd known how the DCCU was (apparently) going to end up. Like a fool I was bothering to assume that they were going to keep at least trying to live up to the pedigree set by Nolan's Batflicks.
Doing legal paperwork. Is there anything that doesn't cause mass hysteria in the south?

Hysteria describes unmanageable emotional excesses. The stereotypical Southerner has unmanageable joy when he sees a gun.Guns. !
