Yes, this is Brawl related. And Melee related, but it has more relevance here.
First of all, I'd like to state that I'm an amateur. That is, I don't play for money; I play for fun. So, I'm far from the best player out there. Ken could probably beat me blindfolded with his hands tied behind his back.
I know that the tournament standard is "3 stock, no items, Final Destination." or something like that. I'm fine with that. But I know someone online who rarely ever plays anything else, or if he does, it's something like Final Destination.
Now... Again, I can understand the tournament standard. I'm not protesting that (except maybe turning off smash ball, but I'll be silent about that because I know I'm probably wrong). What I am protesting, though, is that sometimes it seems like professionals don't play to play anymore; they're always training.
Do professionals ever let loose, set the stock to 5-8, turn all items up on high, and select a random stage? Just for kicks, not for training? I mean, sure, the tournament standard seems alright, but it also seems like it'd get old after awhile if you were playing for fun, inbetween tournaments.
I'm just wondering. Thanks for reading this.
