How old are the snakes? Is the rat a Hooded Rat? I used to have 4 of those.
My snakes are 5, 7, 3, and 2 years old.
And my rat's a black hooded rat, but she has a couple tumors, so she's probably not going to live any longer than a month.:(

I'm very, very sorry about that. I had several rats die of disease--the last one I had because of tumors. His last few months were pretty bad - he was grossly overweight, but bit anyone who tried to touch him. The one before him was my favorite, but he had stuff in his lungs and needed euthanasia.

I hope you find another good one. Breeded rats, especially hooded rats, are awesome.

Yeah, I've had 5 other rats and 4 of them died from tumors and 1 died from respiratory diseases.
It's sad how rats make such great pets, but they only live for a few years.

A freaking turtle that I hate. It was cool at the time, but now I hate cleaning up the cage so I let it stink up my room. A big part of me wants it to die, but I dont have the guts to flush it.

I have a cat named Steve. He's a renegade.

He's one of those cats where you can set it in a bucket of apple sauce, shave it with a rusty spoon, and it would just sit there and purr.

I've had 6 rats over my life, but only 5 at a time. Four died on cancer, one of urinary infection, and the other I accidentally killed. It stuck it's head in between a door and the frame, and I shut it without seeing her.

Ah well. I have rabbits (don't get rabbits) and dogs.

None of your business.
I have a rabid sewer rat named "Chuckles". He's so cute!

That's completely untrue. I have a dog named Mickey, because the year I got him was the first year I went to Disney World.

Wait a minute, I'm confused. Are you saying that you find sexual pleasure in hating me, or you find sexual pleasure when you look at cats?

Either way, you have some strange sort of fetish. :(

We've gone through seven dogs, five cats, a goldfish, three hamsters and a parakeet. Two beagles froze to death, four dogs were taken to the humane society, one ran away, all but two cats died, don't know what happened to the other two, the goldfish went belly-up, one hamster choked to death on something, the other two just died, don't know how, and the parakeet had a heart attack I think.

My favorite was a golden hamster named Houdini (sp?). That thing got out of it's cage no matter what. It was in a glass aquarium with no top, but the sides were fairly high. It would always manage to get out at one corner because there was a wheel there, so I put a heavy trapper keeper in that corner, but it would manage to hold itself up in that corner and chew through the outside binding of the trapper keeper and then push it out of the way with its teeth.

It also had a few near death experiences. Like once it was on the floor and I was playing with it, and there was a metal fold out chair against the wall. Well the chair fell somehow, and landed right on top of the hamster. By some miracle, the hamster was unharmed, because ya know how the back of the chair curves? Well he was crouched under there. Anywhere else and he could've been killed.

Another time I had let it out to run around my room with the door closed, and I went to use the bathroom. When I came back, the hamster was nowhere to be found. I looked in the corner, and I noticed the cover to the vent was sitting on the floor (this vent was a straight drop into the abyss), and I could see two tiny hamster feet. The thing was holding itself up by only it's hindfeet, hanging, staring into darkness about to be lost forever in our ventilation system.. so I nearly had a heart attack and scooped it up.

edit: wow this post is way too long.
