There was some old thread about it when most people were a lot worse with jigglypuff. Now, most of the regulars are "pro" jiggz. What is your opinion on the best doubles partners for jiggz.

I think MK is a great partner for jiggz.
1) Its just MK
2) Great ground game and can give air support when needed
3) Jiggz doesn't have to worry about saving them.
4) Great killing power which jiggz lacks often.

G&W
1)Incredible smashs, offers the killing power that jiggz lacks often in doubles.
2) The character is small, so the range of the attacks (which are god like) have a low chance of hitting jigglypuff if the puff is being careful, which they definitely should be. These are reasons why Snake for example would be a bad partner(STOP BLOWING **** UP SNAKE!)
3) Down throw to rest combos. Absolute ****. I've done them before, and its completely broken. G&W down throw, they roll into you to escape G&W and you surprise them with a rest. If you miss G&W is there to save you with a bair(Knocks away the other people as well) This idea originally came with snake, but snakes gay on doubles with jiggz. Mega gay.
4) G&W is a great top tier character which is often needed to balance of team with a low tier character like jiggz.

Olimar
You can't just pick a random olimar and expect to be good with them. It takes massive team practice to pull this one off.
1) Olimar is just a ridiculous character on the stage, his weakness being that he has a terrible recovery. If you work with your partner perfectly in sync, you should be able to pull of massive crap.
2) I have an entire game plan that works with olimar but of course, I don't know any olimars that are worthy to team with me. Team combos, saves, etc.

Heres how I describe it to people. Have you ever watched pokemon? Have you ever seen when pidgeot and pikachu team up? Pikachu is a huge power house (olimar) and she rides on pidgeot(jiggz) so they can fight in the air (the stage). Pikachu knows that her thunder moves completly **** up pidgeot so she makes sure she jumps off pidgeot before she attacks. Olimar shouldn't just slam the C-stick wildly like they may in singles. They have to be very careful. As soon as an olimar gets knocked off the stage a jigglypuff has to rush off the stage to make sure they get back on upairs aren't deadly low from the stage ceiling, and often puts the olimar to spike anybody who was looking to gimp them.

Rob.
I don't know about this one, I've seen things about rest spam and robs neutral b being a huge asset to this. That way you can rest them and rob can wake you across the stage, through opponents, to wake you up. It seems risky and Rob doesn't have great quality's to support jiggz.

Please add! I think jigglypuff is great on teams.
Any good rest combos? I know a few, I'll speak about them later.

I still like the old Timmy/Tommy team of Kirbz and Jiggz. My ex roommate and I used to bust that out all the time and wreck with it. If you're off the edge, you aren't coming back.

Kirbz holds -> rest -> jab wake up. And Kirbz can kill with his Fsmash. Sick team, too bad they're too light.

Or he'll steal my Rollout and we'll have epic double rollout combinations that are unavoidable.

Yeah but kirbys rollout doesn't have full power. It doesn't pass through shields. Strange but I'm glad.

I like Donkey Kong and Jigglypuff. His forward "throw" allows Jigglypuff to rest the opponent for a while, and DK really compliments Jiggs.

Edit: And I'm a Smash Lord woot.

We've been through this Glick, the answer is obviously the ICs. On a side note, I'm learning Olimar ;).

I never have anything to add to this boards, but Ness's Pk Fire + Constant use of Sing = Hilarious moments.

I nominate G&W for best Jiggs partner. Wind from up-air = super-floaty Jiggs.

I just now realize what you meant when you told me to dthrow during our doubles games, haha. Like you said, D-throw to rest would be INSANELY hard to escape; Jiggs can await the roll on one side, and G&W can immediately go for the up-smash tech chase to the other side.

lol jiggz for teams? only if team killing is off, because about the only thing he is good for on doubles is to hold your opponent and rest them. Well, i did 2 stock Guvan's R.O.B. in a quick doubles tourney as jiggz. last men standing FTW!!! Although i DID camp a little in the pit in hyrule temple and tec all his smash attacks lol. such un unballanced stage . BDA clan's "team smexi" FTW!!!! (M-cancel + Cimpy = double falcon ****)

lmfaoo jiggly and kirby is terrible lmfaoo do u know how fast youre gonna die, including the fact that u barley have any power 2 attack with besides kirby / gimping people.

if anything if youre teaming with another light character (like jiggly and kirby 4 ex.)youll usually die 2 soon. i would say g&w is alright, due 2 his kill moves. besides that i would like teaming with some1 huge 4 support as well as the big dudes usually got the power 2 kill

Can't kill well? Let's examine this for a moment.

A) Kirby can kill with his Fsmash. Well.
B) You can Rest safely because if you miss he can have a jab or UpB coming to wake you up.
C) He can hold the opponent in grab attack until Rest or short charged Rollout

Kill issues solved.

You may die early because it's harder to keep optimum spacing in a doubles environment, but the fact about how easy it is to gimp people with this team makes up for it. You can 0-gimp people like Marth off the level, and actually prevent ROBs and Metaknights from coming back. This is a surprisingly effective team, and you're a literal wall of pain. Like, a Jiggs floating above a Kirbz is pretty much unapproachable. It may not be the best combo, but it's far from terrible. In fact, it's pretty **** good.

Jigglypuff is a fantastic teams character. She has tons of aerial control, can save teammates with pound, has a nice grab and long d-throw, can rest out of tons of stuff, and doesn't afraid of anything.

Other good teams characters include:

Wario is a beast. He can link thinks into Bite all the time, spam f-smash, and has a great d-throw to combo things out of. He lives forever to boot.

Ganondorf is really fun in teams, much better than in singles, but that doesn't say much. He can take advantage of opportunities better than any other character, and his choke is one of the best team moves in the game since it is so easy to do things out of.

Olimar is a good choice for Jiggs in particular. I disagree with Glick's OP on this one... it's a really easy team to pick up assuming they know how to play Olimar.

If your teammate is a powerhouse, feel free to use fair for damage building rather than KOs. If you are teamed with Pit, Wolf, Sonic, or someone like that, obviously save bairs. Remember, you have two people to go after, so you have more flexibility in controlling your stale moves list.

Based on your teammate's playstyle and character, and the opponents, you need to make decisions on whether you will stay close or try to leave him alone with a particular enemy. You have the freedom as Jigglypuff to do either pretty well.

Rollout is good in teams, assuming you have the slightest amount of teamwork. People are less observant in doubles...

I play doubles with my friend, who mains Sonic. He'll lay down the spring, which I'll use for even more aerials.

Jiggz and diddy are pretty good. He rarely trips you and you can pick his bananas up easily.

I would say Meta knight or Sonic make a good team with Jiggs.

I'm still a believer of Jiggs/Olimar as one of the most mutually beneficial matchups in the game. Jiggs has the aerial speed and ability (pound) to easily help Olimar return to the stage with any reasonable amount of advance notice. Their positioning generally complement each other, and avoiding Olimar's grabs at KO-able percents makes one susceptible to getting hit by a Jigglypuff fair.

Having the best grabs in the game on a team with rest is always nice too.

a smart jiggs with a wary teammate can easily pull off long range rollout KOs on the unsuspecting. full power rollout kills so low that it's a great tactic, especially when theres 2 targets. also, when they are forced to avoid rollout, it leaves them open for teammate attacks.

Quoted for truth.

Is that a Jigglypuff icon I see?! :bee:
