Final Destination sucks, just like banning items and stages.

Final Destination is a terrible stage. It gives a total advantage to anyone that has a ranged attack(just to prove everyone that says its neutral wrong), is an incredibly boring stage, has too small of a fighting area, and is only for the failures at the game that make excuses to have no items and play only there because they really suck at all aspects of the game except the c-stick and can't deal with the strategy it takes to avoid/use stage hazards or items. Battlefield is only better for the fact that you don't have a complete and total advantage with ranged attacks.

This is only my opinion(and that of MANY others). It would be nice to have some civilized responses instead of a bunch of whiners that fail at the game to come and flame me.

1. Opinion.
2. Explain how.
3. Opinion.
4. It's not that small.
5. Another opinion.

You aren't going to get a bunch of civilized responses with opinions and an unnecessary hostile attitude.

If you don't like it, stay the **** off of the map. We're not forcing you to play there.

If you want civilized response, please just post in a polite manner and with reasoning. You have given no reasoning, insulted competitive smashers, and spouted mindless nonsense. Don't expect kindness.

Your counters are terrible. Please tell me what to explain.
Also, its called a rant, have you never seen one before?
I'm just stating this because of my annoyance at the barrage of people that refuse to play nothing but final destination with no items. Considering most of the people I've played that like these rules, I'd say that my opinions are pretty accurate.

This is also EXACTLY what kind of response I expected to get: a bunch of whining from the "competitive" and "professional" group because I'm simply posting the truth. Well, at least you're not trying to abbreviate everything or the like.

They aren't whining, and you need to calm down. You give criticism, you need to take criticism. What they are asking you to explain is how exactly ranged attacks have an advantage. From what I can see, that isn't true. Like Lupo said, it isn't that small. Also, the only times people do FD no-items is in stereotypes, that video on youtube, and in competitive play. As far as I can tell, you don't play professional, so you have no obligation to play by those rules. I am not a competitive or professional player, but it is fun to play a game of pure one-on-one skill on FD. Also, your grammar sucks. "refuse to play nothing but final destination..." That means they play everything EXCEPT final destination. I like to rant as much as you do, but at least have a little backbone behind your argument.

Final Destination has always been considered a fair and balanced map, however there have been those who challenge its neutrality and for that, this argument exists.

The concept of Final Destination is as old as fighters themselves, for nearly all 2D fighters took place on flat level stages with no platforms or distractions, just combat. FD takes a page from that book, since having no outside interactions leads to a pure contest of skill. While the fact that it favors projectiles might be true, the characters that can combat projectiles gain an advantage as well. The big thing about FD is that high tiered characters would do better against the matchups that they already excelled at. Now since their aren't tiers yet for brawl, this isn't exactly true yet, however this was the case in melee. Bowser for instance, would do worse than usual on FD because projectile spammers would take advantage of his large hitbox and non-interupptible moves. Even so, characters like Falco or Dr. Mario, who would use their projectiles to their advantage, suffer moreso because of their poor recoveries and the distant blastlines.

Overall, FD has always been balanced because there has never been a matchup that is considered impossible to win, because every character can have advantages and disadvantages on this stage. Also, this stage allows for all characters to move and attack effectively, and any problems with the stage are similar to other neutrals such as Pokemon stadium, character and matchup based, and fairly situational.

Hopefully you can understand why FD has always been a neutral, but if you still dislike it, you always have the option of not playing it.

As much as I am against competitive players and don't exactly like Final Destination, the OP is just whining about his dislike for the competitive scene.

I totally agree with Frames though.

You came here with a hostile attitude, told everyone they suck at the game, automatically assume your views are correct, and you think you deserve civilized responses?

And I really hope you don't think the C-stick is cheap or something. No one whined in those two posts. I honestly would like to discuss your points, but we'll never get anywhere due to your superior attitude and the fact that this topic is actually about your hate for the competitive scene.

Lurk before posting. Final Destination isn't the only stage used in competitive play. In Melee over 50% of the stages were used. In Brawl, we don't know, but there could very well be over 50% of stages used again. Don't make rants about topics that don't apply. Don't like FD? Don't pick it and play with others who don't like it.

Only thing I hate about destination is the fricking gimp edges. I play snake so those things kill me all of the time.

Don't use join dates as a guide. I only joined about two hours ago but I have been lurking for nigh on a year. Also, you will find people who have been on a board for five years and are stupider/more annoying than a newbie.

Anyway, what is the whole point of this thread and similar rants? Me, I play with items on. I play on any and all stages and the only one I have ever been able to say I dislike is Icicle Mountain. Do I come here and tell you no-item play is wrong? No. While I may prefer to play the way I do, I completely understand there are others who prefer to play on more neutral stages without the use of items. The idealist in me would expect everyone to bestow such grace upon others but the realist in me is aware it won't happen.

Just because you play one way doesn't make it the right way. There is no right or wrong way to smash. The idea is to have fun and if that is what you are doing then the game is being played correctly.

How the hell could you possibly expect civilised responses when you come in here screeching like a baboon to get your point across? If you do not like the "competitive" style of play, that's fine. Just don't come about telling people they suck and "fail" at the game for playing in such a manner.

if it's an advantage for people with ranged attacks, why would they be using c-sticks? i bet you love using items also.

You act as though competitive players are such a small number.

Also, are you saying WE fail at the game? A competitive player with items would still destroy a noob with items :/

Don't worry about it. If it doesn't apply to you, there's no need to be offended. It's not your fault that 97% of stupid threads like this are made by people with low post counts and recent join dates. But it does give similar people a bad rap.

Pretty sure this is a joke topic though, nobody's that stupid.

Well, I have to disagree on some points to the OP on this one.

Final Destination is a plain, no non-sense stage. Nothing changes, nothing moves, so you can focus purely on battling. Projectiles are easily blocked/reflected/dodged... and it really favors combo strategies and melee fighting. If anything, I believe that FD heavily favors the brutes of the game that have heavy hitting melee attacks. It's a small stage, so it doesn't give speed the advantage... as you can easily fling yourself off if you're careless.

It's the most neutral level in the game... IMO.

FD is my favorite because it's brutally honest. There aren't any surprises, there aren't any annoying walls, and there's no platform fighting.

FD makes it so that you're fighting the person you're fighting, not the stage. I find it refreshing.
