Look at the stage discussion thread and you'll see a lot of good ones.

It really depends on the character you're fighting, but generally the stages with low ceilings and close side boundaries are good for Olimar. Platforms help juggle opponents and longer stages help out his camping/spacing game.

The point of spotdodging is to dodge a quick attack and either retreat afterwards or punish them with something of your own. If you're never able to retreat or hit your opponent after the spotdodge, there's no point in doing the spotdodge in the first place... usually. It's safer to just run back, or if you're unpredictable about it, roll back.

With that in mind, I like to use jab out of spotdodges. It's quick, and has good range and priority. It also somewhat covers spotdodgers if your timing is right.

Autocanceling aerials are aerials that have no extra landing lag when you land while doing them.

None of Olimar's aerials autocancel, but nair has a very little landing lag.
it has 16frames of landing lag. fair and bair have 15 if u didnt know, so theyre just as fast :)

That's not really autocanceling. To autocancel you land while you're using the hitbox. Autocanceling is named that since it automatically cancels the landing lag of the aerial.

You're landing before the aerial comes out. It's an aerial cancel since you cancel the aerials before it happens.
well... in way, the aerial DOES come out cuz the pikmin is sent to the line as if its been used. hopefully u already knew this tho

does our uptilt beat peaches d-air?
im not sure, but in the new oli br we are going to be doing a lot of peach research

How do you cancel the up-b into a second jump off the stage after you used your second jump once?
tap off, fall/jump off of the stage, upb, hit down, jump
not sure how to do it with tap on...

this depends. why do u spot dodge in the first place? there might be better options
yet.. if theyre shielding or spot dodging after ur spot dodge, u can probably do sh retreating fair into followup(fsmash?), jab ,grab, or pivot grab in either direction. anything but grab/immediate smashes

To do it with tap on, you need to tilt the analog stick upward enough to do the tether, but not high enough to actually waste your second jump.

Does that work like gay's airdodge zair? Since the super armor frames on the whistle are...somewhat strict, this might not be the best idea but I'll try it out. Thanks (:

No it doesn't work like that. It's just whistling and then doing an aerial.

yep. say u dont have a blue up next and a DK is about to bair u, then to more easily and quickly get the kill off, u shorthop into the bair, whistle( 1/4 of a second of invincibility begining on frame 2 ) the bair, and nair into upsmash him

I have tried to secondary Oli numerous times and he was my starting character in Brawl but everytime I try to use him, I find him too boring. If I were to get more into his metagame and learn some things, would he become a fun character to secondary? Do you guys have fun with him?

I have fun doing things that I should not do in tourney and I end up doing them in tourney and losing yet going out feeling happy I daired someone using my second jump at 0% but not having the pikmin to get back.

Tourney - Not fun unless you like sorting (I do).
Free play - Fun

@ GooseMainsDiddy: I main olimar cause he was fun awell. When I was looking fr another character to main (I like maining multiple characters) I picked up Olimar over characters such as Pikachu, Kirby, Wario, and other S-A tiers. His play stle is very fun (imo)

DI has nothing to do with attacks.

Olimar's up aerial is his best for momentum canceling, though. After DIing, just use your up aerial and fast fall immediately.

The word "albeit" has nothing to do with Smash. It's a word in the English language.
