Great, make most practical combos disappear in Brawl and insert a infinite one.

Pin a char to a wall and shine in into it repeatedly with fox's shine.(since now if you hit down-B fast enough it re-shines faster) try it out on coneria.

Props to all the people who said Brawl is so much more balanced that melee. Take out all the adv. tech that made melee combo's skillful and practical. Actually wait take out pretty much any combo that hits a player more then 2-3 time in general. And then insert infinite combo here.

why it's not broken:

1. requires a wall
2. requires pinning opponent to a wall

possible other reasons:

3. do all characters slide after being shined?
4. are you sure it's impossible to DI?

it might look like an infinite right now, but there's no need to insert your emotional reaction too early.

Oh yea, characters no longer knock themselves back a little bit when locking enemies against walls with jabs and such. Its probably DIable, but if you dont...alot of characters have wall infinites now.

why it's not broken:

1. requires a wall
2. requires pinning opponent to a wall
If you think those are included in good reasons why this isnt bad, you need to relook at this game. If the setup can happen, it will.

In classic, there was this exact situation with Pika. But hey, it needs a wall and you have to lock someone against it, thats hard to do, right? It just happens that pika can chain a forward air into that combo on hyrule against the wall. Whenever he wants.

What will make or break this is if it is DIable or not.

impossible to DI, jammed all buttons in combinatons in every direction. No way out. And all chars slide enough, you might need to be slightly closer more a less from some chars but if they end up rolling towards a wall its game over.

Well L-canceling and wave-dashing required skills, comon where are all the warhawks out against walls now.

Oh goodie, another person *****ing about the loss of advanced techs. Ok so perhaps there seems to be one infinite combo. Kudos. How many such things did Melee have?
And don't give me that **** about loss of advance techs meaning loss of skill. It means more skill is needed. You have to be logical and careful now, not just ludicrously fast.

I also saw a video in which metaknight had a fox? I think pinned up against corneria and kept slashing at him and it looked like the fox was teching as well and was unable to get out of it. Awesome.

uh melee only had 1 truly infinite combo and it was the wobble and it actually was hard to pull off and continue. any person who can catch a guy on a wall and spam down-b can pull this off.

so brawl essentially substituted no combos with easy to pull of infinite combo for lots go practical combos and one really hard to pull off infinite combo. Not a really good balance is it.

Not very well versed in the ethics of infinites, are you? I was an ice climber main in Melee, buddy.

If an infinite requires a setup, that means it can be avoided. The opponent can even avoid it at all costs. If the person doesn't wanna get shined into the wall, then he'll stay away from the wall. Simple, isn't it?

It was the same thing if someone didn't want to get grabbed by IC's in melee. And grabbing is MUCH easier than pinning someone to a wall.

And also: someone already said it could be shielded or rolled out of. Can't prove this is an infinite until video confirmation.

Stop saying "I have seen someone tech out of it, or roll out of it, or do what not out of it" i just had someone say.

"your data is probably VIDEO based"

and i countered that with i confirmed with MY COPY of the game along with other people who HAVE actual copies

melee didn't hvae any ridiculously easy to execute infinites at least.
with the lack of slide-back when hitting people and the fact that so many characters have rapid hitting moves PLUS the total lack of knockback on most characthers moves, infinites like these are going to be everywhere.

krell this discussion is regarding the viability of brawl in competition.
plz take your preconceptions elswhere

*facepalm*
lets complain some more.

There will always be cheap infinite combos, wherever you look. There's no escaping it.
So how about instead of complaining about the loss of combos, maybe try to implement new ones?

the shine puts you in stun animation you cant tech until your out of the animation. It may be only like 1/10 of a second but spamming shine puts you in repeated stun animation. Its not techable DI-able for the same reason or sheild able.

implementing infinite combos is stupid. its essentially playing a game with only 1 hit KO moves.

Are. you. serious?

You played ICs. You know how easy it was to get the setup. People cant just avoid it all day long, thats not how it works. One mess up and you get nailed. Thats why people hated wobbling, because the grab was so easy to pull off. And this is a shine, thats not a problem. Ever heard of the waveshine in melee? Easy as hell to setup, that was an infinite. If there was a wall nearby, you knew **** well that fox would eventually pin you to it, thats what makes a good setup good.

Either way, why are you attacking me? This is likely to not be a legit infinite...stop arguing the details when you dont know what you are talking about.

So stages with prominent walls will be tourney banned, whoopedy****ingdoo.

Hate to break it to you but Melee had that too, it just took more skill to do.

The game wasn't broken.

Edit: you honestly think that wobbling's the only infinite LOL! what about freeze glitch? what about

fox's shine infinite

Ignorance does not make you look cool, it makes people flame you and it gets oyur topics locked.

freeze isnt an infinite combo. its just a misc glitch. just like black hole and or soul breaker. non of which servered practical purposes for winning. and fox's shine in melee wasnt infinite, you can smash DI out of it.

actually, his argument against brawl's balance still stands because things like this still exist and are now extremely easy to execute.

that's not the point.
he's arguing against the balance of brawl
not against people who believe in the balance of brawl.

... I GOT TO PLAY BRAWL TODAY!!!!!! Like I said I would and I did try a couple things (Now I know why people didn't automaticly check for wavedashing and other crap still existed, your completely mesmorised and debating with yourself who and whered you plan on playing first!!!!!)

Either the whole infinite combo thing could be a serious issue, I know Pit and Falco could do there spin thing and lock anyone to the wall, it wasn't hard for me to pull off at all ... except for Pit, its hard to keep his Bow spinning. Either way my freind wasn't very good so he couldn't DI at all, he looked me thinkin WTF does DI mean!?!? So im not actually sure it's DI able and I have no clue where he would try to move to, not towards me, not down not back cause of the wall and maybe up but what good would that do he'd just fall back down due to the stun/hit animation.

Just on a personal note, Wolf friggen kicks ***!!! he's gonna be my main. Also I played with Wiimote and nunchuck

It's probably DIable. Anyways Falco's new AAA.... attack seems like it could be infinate if you could pin somebody againt a wll.

Also a lot of stages in Brawl don't have walls that you could pin somebody against.

Just be aware they can do it and don't fall for that situation. Looks like they still have to have some sort of timing to do it too.
