For those wondering if you have sit through the tourney

I had called gamestop yesterday, and I asked them about my Preorder My words where

"Since I pre-ordered, I don't have to Sit through the brawl tournament right?"
"I can just go in and pick it up?"

His response
"Yeah, you don't have to sit through the tourney, you can just go right on in and pick it up."

So there you have it, if you where wondering at all if you had to sit through all their stuff.
Just go in and pick it up and be on your way!

Uhh..one problem with that. The terminals will signal if the game is sold before 12:01am Sunday Morning, they have to wait until that minute marker. I have pre-ordered from there about 20 times; and every single time it has been 12:01 on the dot.

Unless Nintendo is allowing early release (Doubtful; being they are pretty strict about it...but if so, it would be the first I have heard) I do not think you can get it early.

Besides; Why would you not want to participate in the tournament? Next to getting the game home and playing it, it's the second biggest highlight of my night tonight. ^^

Haha..well I want the game as quickly possible and yes I know it's 12:01 I was just saying XD You don't have to sit through their tournament when they open you can go in and just get it and go.

The tournament starts at 10:00pm And it's expected to be finished by midnight.

So...very high chance you will have to if you show up early. If you show up at midnight though, should be over by then and you can get it and go. ^^

i just played brawl at bestbuy, and i can say the transition from the N64 controller to the gamecube controller was a lot easier than gamecube to wiimote + nunchuck. i really don't want to go through a tournament just to get ***** by someone with the japanese version who had the chance to practice with the wiimote.
