I agree so much with your name.
Thanks, you know your the first person to say anything. It makes sense when you think about it.

Just before I go all out figuring new stuff out, is there any particular thread I can check out that has all the techs and everything known about Fox? That way I'll know if the stuff I find is new or not.

Playing Fox is like riding a bike. If you don't do it right you fall and kill yourself.
Are you riding near the edge of a cliff or something?

That my friend is how to play Fox. Class is dismissed.
Wait you talking to me......because I feel I didn't learned anything from you, if you let me get you to your last stock with Kirby (just picked up today) and I lived 249% last stock.

P.S. You know I love you light.

I main Fox and second Toon Link, I should go check that out. I don't see why it wouldn't be good to discuss characters that complement Fox.
I main DK and picked up fox bc I liked him... I use him against D3...
I can also play Falco, Marth and Diddy but somehow I dont give up on Fox...

Fox is a great character, i love to play him, but sometimes i find really difficult to make precise movements, in order to use fox to his full potential you need to be really really focused on the match to avoid mistakes and punish your opponent, i love to use him, but when i play against friends or just for fun i almost never use him, just because he takes a lot of concentration from me to use it effectively, Also you need to know the follow ups for attacks and also know which of your attacks can be punished, a lot of times when i play against the CPU i drill and then try to Utilt, but they are able to perfect shield before the Utilt hits them, I know most of the tricks Fox has, I also know % in order to combo or to kill, but in order to apply all of that in a real match you have to be 100% into the match, that is why Fox is hard "to get good consistently with" I would never use fox in all my matches in a large tournament, i would end up exahusted, but when you feel like focusing and know the tricks and your opponent i think that fox can beat almost any character that does not have something broken against him (Zamus, Falco, etc...)

Fox also has some good matchups or even against high tier characters, for example he ***** Snake, D3 and Olimar, has advantage against ROB and Diddy, but other top char **** him, like Falco, Meta, G&W, so in order to be good with fox you should pick a secondary, fox is a grat character, but with that many bad matchups is hard to be a "solo" character

Very well spoken, but I'm sorry to say we have a slight disadvantage against Olis.

And @ Iblis, I only let your Kirby live that long so I could kill him with a shine lol. No worries though, if you didn't get the teachings I hear some other people did. *winks*

(Lol you know I love you too XD. It's gonna be a sad day when you move back to Japan...)

In personal experience Olimar is a hard matchup but i still think Olimar has a disadvantage, you can camp with lasers and force him to approach, Drill counters his Usmash (But not his Uair) and you can get a kill with a shine or a drill to shine, but probably it's just me, One thing i can see is than a smart Olimar can predict your drills and Smash you with those **** pikmins, and also because he is small It's harder to hit him with Bair and Fair if he is in the ground, so your only way to approach him when he is in ground is Run to shield, Running attack and Drill, and from those 3 the best one is Drill, so If you need to approach I can see Olimar ****** Fox :/

Also Lighting, i have seen your videos, you have a good fox, I hope i could get a camera to upload some of my videos :/

Yeah you still have yet to see our Fox FFA's.

Although the thing about Oli's is that you have no approach unless you punish. An Oli can easily out prioritize and outspace you by grabbing, and he even has an annoying chain grab to upsmash. He can gimp you fairly well, and the problem about shining is Oli's superarmor on his down-b.

This so much.

Fox seems to take your full attention if you want to play him perfectly. Sometimes I'll quasi-zone in and out when I'm playing with Marth but I'll still be decent...can't do that with Fox. He's a pretty good character, just has crap matchups because everyone seems to have something against him (Shiek f-tilt lock, IC chain grab, LOL PIKACHU).

Sucky thing is, I don't have any experience fighting good people to really know how to deal with some of the other kinda negative matchups, like Falco. Seeing as how everyone close enough to me sucks, my Wi-fi is extremely laggy, and I can't drive to other people's houses for local smashfests because I'm 13, I'm stuck playing level 9s at home. And while all practice is practice...it's pretty crappy practice unless I've just started a character and need to get his general controls (just started G&W today). And even then, the computers wear off quickly; I literally just decided to main Marth yesterday, and now I'm consistently killing level 9s in three stock 1v1 matches, usually dying once but sometimes three-stocking (I just three-stocked Link in 40 seconds on Smashville, olol dair).

And Fox just isn't someone you can play with lag on Wi-Fi. Marth and Lucas...kinda, but since Fox is so precise, I'm not benefitting at all with my lag matches against people, x_x. I'm afraid with the way I'm playing my Fox now, I'm probably being really stupid at times and am leaving myself wide open to anyone who isn't a computer; I don't want to be LOLPUNISHED constantly when facing real people. tl;dr: I'm at a standstill until I can get transportation or my Wi-Fi stops sucking.

(unrelated: when people jump up to recover from a ledge, dairing them back down is funs)

Wi-fi does suck, but honestly that is where I received most of my training. Your body learns to input controls at the right rates and then you pick up on your opponents. Although it's not the best training, I apply it to real-life matches and still have the same victorious outcome. Fox is all about the mindset, then comes the skill.

In there i can't agree lighting, when you play online with fox you have to rely on moves that you usually don't use that much in a real match (Nair, LOOOOTS of laser spam, Utilt like hell because no1 can perfect shield online) so you sacrifice precision in order to rack damage, I see this as a good training to know how to play in a more reserved way with fox, but i don't think playing WiFi allows you to get better with real life fox, you need to go to a lot of tournaments and play against real life people and try to be precise with fox.

@Avarice Panda, play with handicap on auto against CPUlvl9 and only against characters like luigi, peach, zelda, pikachu and other characters that you think will give you a hard matchup, i personally like to play against luigi, that little g4y man's Nair ***** fox

Naw, Olimar has the advantage. Utilt > Fox's approaches lol.

Usmash also beats his aerials if the hitbox hits Fox instead of the Pikmin.

When a Falco is CGing me, I move back to avoid the spike and sometimes that Falco gets caught in the 'Fox Copter Kick' (dont know the real name for it)

I guess you could call it that, but I play online for competition, not to win. And trust me I think we've all seen how wi-fi can be abused. Then again I play a lot of good people who play honestly, and like I said if you match the tempo of the game you can still PS, although sometimes your inputs are ignored. But hey, at least its better than nothing. No way would I be getting better fighting CPU's...

Lol, the CPU gets better over time, sure it's not as good as a real player but it's a good Sandbag and sometimes they can put a challenge, i also used to play online at AiB, but i really didn't liked it and stopped playing, the best practice you can have is against real life people.

In the place where i live not a lot of people that i know play smash, so what i have been doing i have started inviting friends and create a love for smash to them.
So now i have sandbags that know how to DI properly and Choose meta, falco, G&W and all other kind of characters that **** fox XD

So sad, yet so true.

Hey I find that if I don't get in the tilt-lock I can beat a really good bad Shiek! (Lol as if that won't happen...) XD
fixed. A really good sheik will easily tilt lock fox.

Lol it was a joke... but seriously her defensive and gimping options are too good.

(Another joke, I expect most people to already know the matchup, but obviously I guess I came across wrong. You would think internet humor has evolved to the point where we can finally understand each other. XD)

I believed that the Pika chaingrab was escapable when shined at a correct timing, am i wrong?

@ Pgh-M@v-Pgh, i suppose probably Falco does not **** fox, but a chaingrab that can be done in the same spot sounds like **** to me

Perfect (and I mean PERFECT) SDI+Shine gets you out at around 65-70%, but then you get Usmashed or Dsmashed.

.he walks us to the edge and from ther we can DI to avoid spiking

that is the key to defeating pika, now lets go and practice that Foxs, or just cp like a sane person.

I know you can DI away to avoid the spike, but a ~40% disadvantage in a light char like fox is huge.

@Zhamy I believed it could be DI away at lower %, but i am not sure
