My brother is just about to graduate from high school. As a gift he asked for a ps3 mgs4, grand theft auto 4, virtua fighter 5, tekken dr, ratchet and clank tools of distruction, burnout paradise, call of duty 4, archade sticks and like 400 dollars of spending money.

.....i have no time to play brawl with all these great games

im in love with brawl but grand theft auto, mgs4? seriously? Those games are mega top tier and Ill have much higher standards after playing some ps3 games. and playing tourney games like virtua and tekken would prob give me the mindset of puting brawl down to shame

So wat should i do? quit brawl all together *probably wont but who knows i dont have a ps3 yet*? or play half and half? *which will be hard because i have lots of ps3 games to play

im just sad of the overal quality of wii games

This is not a rant but a cry for help T . T i love my brawl but mgs4 is just so....epic

Not that it concerns me, but your bro seems pretty **** spoiled. I only got like 50 bucks and that was it. I actually think the 50 bucks was too much. I just graduated high school, is all.

Aren't they your brothers games now? Don't play his games, or your just leeching off him. Stick with brawl, a real mans game, where you play a princess fighting a pink balloon in the land of mushrooms.

If you give up brawl, YOU GIVE UP LIFE!

If you dont play brawl, brawl will destroy your other games.

If you give up brawl, you no longer have a account here.

Think about it.

Read what I bolded, I feel insulted. MGS4, I'll let slide, but GTA4? God **** it, rockstar has the whole **** world hypnotized. RAAAGGGHH!!!

Higher standards? How are those games higher standard? MGS4 is amazing I'm sure, but with the GTA games, it's the same old thing. And the other games, eh... I'd rather play Brawl, as I've been playing that sinc March, and I'm not tired of it yet.

And what a shot at Nintendo, calling their games subpar... how is Mario Kart Wii a supbar game? How is BRAWL a subpar game? I am shocked and appauled.

edit: And virtua-fighter and tekken being better than Brawl? ow... that's fail.

(Not that I dislike Tekken, mind you)

yeah, the only game there that would possibly take away from my Brawl time is MGS4. I've got GTA4, but I've only played it once so far.

Quoted for TRUTH.

Seriously, man, your bro is getting way too much as a graduation present. Man, when I graduated, the only thing I asked for was for two of my classmates to have a threesome with me, and I didn't even get that. That's bull.

Your Brother does not deserve $1400+ for graduating from High School. Hell, a relative of mine just RETIRED and he probably got $1000 INCLUDING the cost of the party held for him. Thats f*ckin messed up.

But seriously, it sounds like as if your trolling here. Promoting the PS3, cliaming nintendo does not have high-quality games.

Man, messed up......

$1400...... ****

lol @ ^

msg4 will be a good game once you get passed it's ******** loading screen. Have you seen it at G4tv.com? It's silly.

GTA is a trashy game and always will be a trashy game. GTA is for casual gamers imo so that they can run around and kill everyone and steal their cars. I guess people get a thrill about the detail the game makers put into that, but it bores me.

The rest all seem like alright games.

You'll get bored of these games eventually and will back to Brawl when you're all done. Besides, if your brother is planning on going to college, won't he take his PS3 with him.

i've never gotten into GTA or MSG very much because since they arnt the types of games i prefer, but most of these responses are just fanboyism. its pretty obvious GTA IV is at least decent with the improvements they made to the environments and the online play. MSG also has a history of having great single player, and theres also decent looking online play. basically, dont let these scrubs tell you what to play.

lol @ the hypocrisy

SSBB is a trashy game and always will be a trashy game. SSBB is for casual gamers imo so that they can run around and camp without being punished for lack of technical skill and strategy. I guess people get a thrill about the detailed yet still boring single player, quantity over quality type roster, and slightly better graphics that sakurai put into that, but it bores me.

Mario Kart

Metroid Prime 3
Mario Galaxy
Who dares say wii lacks quality games? :p
1) i liked TP a lot at first, but its really just a snore since its so easy and lacks anything new except "shake to attack" -_-. quality would require more than near trivial puzzles and very unlikely chance losing unless you are terrible, imo. i understand its so more people can play, but they didn't even bother to add difficultly settings. 2) i never cared for MK much. game wining random items are bad enough, but "communist" randomness messes it up. its not really a "racing" game and more of a "fall back until you get a decent item then exploit it" game. 3) brawl? Lol. i dont even need to say anything. 4) MP3 was ok for a while and actually used the wiimote, but when you realize any other company today would have included 16+ player online, voice chat, and content patches, it seems like a lack of effort, unless you only played nintendo games your whole life i guess. 5) SMG, was mostly ok except for forcing a nearly linear play style. theres also some replayability, sort of. sadly/amazingly, Melee still has more depth and replay value than any of the wii games so far.

not trying to incite fanboy rage, but nintendo's games have been generally meh this generation. their marketing to casuals is amazing though, so it makes their games get high sales and seem good. its better to get out while its sinking, than trying to keep as many people on board incase it manages to stay afloat, imo.

im just trying to save any credibility smashboards has left, in case any other intelligent people decide to come here. that is all.

Do we really need more Brawl bashing? There's already several topics on the subject.

TP is different mostly in its story, which is better than any of the previous ones. I don't think the puzzles are that bad, but then again, maybe I'm just not as smart as you.

I haven't played Mario Kart Wii yet, but even in Double Dash I could be hit by a Blue Shell or two and still win. Unless weapons are that much worse in MKW, they shouldn't be enough to override skill.

3) brawl? Lol. i dont even need to say anything.
See first comment in this post.

What do you mean it's " nearly linear"? After you complete the first two observatories you can pretty much tackle the opened galaxies in any order (since you should have enough to go to other places by then).

Ok, lemee tell you something here.

I have these gaming consoles:
-Nintendo
-Super Nintendo
-Sega Genesis
-Nintendo 64
-PS1
-Gamecube
-PS2
-Xbox
-PS3
-Xbox 360
-Wii

I MLG in Halo 1, 2 and 3, as well as gears of war. I'm pro/am at SSBM. I working on getting alot better at Guitar hero. I don't own Super Smash Bros Brawl, yet still play it enough to play at the same level as many high level players, and I still have time to have a fun social life as well as a decent grade average in school.

In other words stop whining. If you really are that estatic about MGS4, which I don't blame you, you'll beat it in what, 1-3 weeks at most? You're allowed to switch in between games you know.
Jeeze when you said this was a cry for help it sounded pretty much like you thought that since you might be playing PS3, you'll absolutely have to be 100% loyal to sony and become a fanboy zombie.

you are correct, we dont. it was to make a point.

TP is different mostly in its story, which is better than any of the previous ones. I don't think the puzzles are that bad, but then again, maybe I'm just not as smart as you.
its not completely about smart, imo. its more about experience that anyone who plays these types of games already has. most of the new puzzles are just linear progressions from the old ones, while people tend to think more diversely. to make them seem as difficult as the first ones for some one experienced, they would need to be considerably more different/difficult. look at portal for example. the levels require a nonlinear way of thinking up until you learn to use multiple portal jumps, then the levels start becoming linear and its more about timing/aiming correctly or frequent use of the portals for the solution. TP is basically the linear part without any technical challenge either. i suppose the story decent for a zelda game, but its also sort of meh if you already read/watch japanese manga/anime, for similar reasons. the japanese sales werent great either to confirm this, imo.

I haven't played Mario Kart Wii yet, but even in Double Dash I could be hit by a Blue Shell or two and still win. Unless weapons are that much worse in MKW, they shouldn't be enough to override skill.
don't get it for online, as the "communist" rating system makes it sort of pointless. continuing to play online after getting a higher rating degrades your rating even when finishing 3rd-4th place. its very difficult to avoid regardless of how good you are when there are streaks of blue shell, blue shell, lighting, red shell, etc. (this is not uncommon at all when you have 12 ppl falling back until they get one and then saving them).

Are any of those things even possible with the Wii? I know voice chat and content patches aren't.
yes, as a matter in fact, there a chip thats designed for voice interpretation in the wiimote itself. of course, theres no reason to even consider making high production value games when you can make something like wiifit and throw in a peice of plastic and people will go crazy over it. the limitations are mostly all artificially induced by nintendo, not physical limitations of the wii.

What do you mean it's " nearly linear"? After you complete the first two observatories you can pretty much tackle the opened galaxies in any order (since you should have enough to go to other places by then).
i mean when you are actually in a level. in SM64 you could explore the level and go for any of the objectives, but in SMG you pick which star you want to get before entering the level and the game guides you to that one. usually you have to clear them one by one before moving to the next star on that level, also, instead of just exploring the level and doing w/e you want.

You might not like MGS4. The only way to know is if you've played the others (Which is mandatory if you want to understand the plot) unless you already have then nevermind. It's a game for the fans.

Anyways, you can probaly do both. None of those games have the replay value of Brawl.

Also, don't listen to these people. Most of those games are great. I play Brawl a lot and I have a PS3 and a 360. You're making their lineup seems much better then they are. Triple AAA titles do not come out once a month on those systems or any system. It's just people over-hyping crap like Haze.
