Glitch in Delfino Plaza?

I'm guessing that this has been brought up before, but no use in not trying.

So, anyway, when going through Delfino Plaza, you eventually reach the top of the Star Sprite shrine, where you battle on there. Well (and I'm not sure how it happened,) after getting there, as soon as I landed on the shrine, I fell THROUGH it, past the Shine Sprite to my death.

I have a feeling that this has been known about, but if not, discuss.

Never heard of it...thats really weird...did u get meteor smashed or something? Cause i know i fell through te lava on brinstar due to meteor smash before

Hey this happened to me today! Was jumping while the stage went down to the shine gate and i went through the thing and almost fell! luckily I pk thundered and hit myself, even though I couldnt even see myself( guess I really do have PSI! jkjk) But yeah this is a crazy glitch and a lot of people need to see this thread, it could result in the stage being BANNED.

yeah, it happened to my opponent beforeee. he just up-b'ed back to the actual stage.
but it didn't happen in the shine sprite part of the stage, it happened where you're at the beach.

Weird..that means it can happen in two places(maybe more)

Is this possibly because the game doesn't register the new part of the stage until a certain point, and your character just happened to be below where the floor was when it did? Sounds like the most plausible explanation to me...

^I agree with ParanoidDrone. Was it early after the change that these happened? Because of the nature of the moving stages, it could be that it hadn't really reset to the new layout yet and it was still at the neutral platforms.

I already made a thread about this. Except I didn't die, I fell through the beach stage and was swimming like inside it, lol. Dunno how it happened though.

Its funny when the lava comes in Brinstar and you have a starman.

Please clarify this for me, you were standing on the "main" platform and when it landed/disappeared you fell through the new solid part of the stage? Or did you jump off the "main" platform and land on the new part of the stage before it was formed yet? Sorry I can be a little slow

I've seen it happen multiple times when the stage is definitely 'solid' for that portion.

Yes, this has happened before, and it has been determined to be a glitch like the Seel in Poke Floats in Melee. You just take the hit and move on...
