My friend uses Lucario and I love playing ZSS with him. It's our "rox" team.

I still stand by it being a great team.

i agree with the zelda one. as for MK maybe not. snake? anyone whose anyone with half decent pride doesnt use snake hes not a character. wolf.....gets a big EEEEHHHHHHHH....and tiers dont exsist, not in brawl
Don't be silly Tiers exist in brawl....

There is Snake Tier and Everyone Else Tier

Everyone knows that.

But I agree .... no self respecting person would play snake.

G&W + any character with a good projectile is borderline broken in teams. IMO G&W's best partner is Zelda, but Lucario isn't bad at all either.

Lucario's Aura Sphere and I THINK his Force Palm are both fodder for the Bucket. WHich gets INSANELY low percent kills. There is nothing better than killing some poor sap at about 10% or less with an Oil Spill.

Lucario is also good at racking up damage as Aesir says, but G&W has tons and tons of amazing kill moves outside of his Down-B, which is inherently a good situation for Lucario. IMO G&W overall has the best set of kill moves in the entire game.

@OneWingedAngelo

MK is better than Snake...I mean overall he has better matchups against everyone else. Snake has some bleh matchups against campers and characters who can combo him to death like Lucario. MK doesn't. MK's ONLY remotely bad matchup is in fact Snake.

yeah....thats a bad strat, its worse than a squier strat! why would i go and blows up ma teammate, and besides snakes puny C4 will not instantly kick lucario to full power it will just set lucario up for punishment. youd be better off beating lucario with your old morning newspaper than blowing him up.

Actually, I don't think it's THAT terrible. Just make sure Lucario isn't at too high damage. And at least Lucario can make use of the damage if he gets hit, unlike any other character.

C4 start isn't too bad. Combo -> C4.

And it could be a safety net for those ledge/wall misses =]

Or better yet. Massive edge gaurd -> Extreme speed -> C4 -> Extreme speed. Pseudo-bomb jump?

Modify your Bomb strat.. with

oh wait... why are you teaming up with snake!
Not a Snake fan are you?

I'd say that Lucario does best with G&W, Snake, or Meta Knight. G&W for 1 hit kills with Oil Panic, Snake because he's Snake and his explosives if Lucario gets hit doesn't negatively impact him, and MK because Lucario can get hit by most of MK's attacks and not have to worry about getting killed by them.

I'm liking the support from Nodrak, this is actually one funny strategy, as a Lucario using FP chain/ Pseudo WoP is actually a good finisher with this. Plus, sometimes, we time it into a DT mindgame approach. Man, most of u guys must have been dropped, Snake is an awesome partner, ranging from mine piggybacks, to fire carries (aka "99 grenades on the wall... take one out, throw it out, then Lucario picks it up and blows up the other guy!) You guys must have had some really bad experiences with Snake to not like the matchup, as Lucario in low percents needs a better KOer, and Snake is also a good distracter/disrupter, which is good for Lucario to pounce on.

The only problem with that idea is that C4 blows up on its own after about 30 seconds, which kinda will screw YOU up if you forget you have it on you. It'd be better to pass it to the opponent, knock him up and have Snake release it like a normal Utilt > C4 combo.

Best Lucario partners would either be those with slow, powerful, killing moves, like Ike; or those who move and attack really fast, like Meta Knight. Either way, we have a team of one person who holds and does damage and one who goes for the kill. Either Lucario and Ike, respectively, or Meta Knight and Lucario, respectively. Lucario's fairly flexible, as far as team roles go, so most people would work.

my friend plays ike and dedede mostly, with a few others like marth.

i've found that dedede works well with my lucario. one of the best things i ever did was 'hide' behind him and double team someone that was attacking him lol.

i guess it depends if you play with team damage on. which i don't, cos a lot of people i play with are morons (like the olimar who spammed throw onto everyone.... including me)

Tourny rules are generally to have team attack on. It's not a bad thing though, if you cant get back on stage, that same Olimar can throw a pikmin and hit you so you get your upB back to get to the stage. Besides, if he hits you with pikmin who latch onto you, you can use them for a free double team =P

I'm not sure I'd do well with a DDD partner. DDD players tend to play all over the stage, and being so large I cant help but hit them a few times or have one get trapped in a combo with my opponent >.< I guess it would depend on the stage your on too

yeah i don't play in tourneys really, just play for fun with friends.

but the few times we played with team damage, i'd try and get someone to shoot at me so i could double team lol :D
snake sounds like a really good choice now that i think of it then. he can go crazy with explosives and lucario can double team grenades, grenade launcher, etc. and if it hits him.... YAY

and yeah, stage would make a big difference. maybe i'll train with my friend on team damage on and see how it works on different stages lol. i have a feeling not too well, but we'll try with his ike as well and see how it goes.
he's starting to use pit which i could see a ton of possibilities with if team damage were on.

and that olimar player... i was using olimar as well (i'm actually better with olimar, even though i consider lucario my main) so having random pikmin (THAT WEREN'T MINE, how sick) latch onto me wasn't really desirable ;/
but the next match he used zelda and smashed me at the beginning of the match.
i think i need to just stop playing with that person ;__________;

Lucario's greatest enemy, is his best ally, in which I refer to MK. Along with my brother, this is a very effective team. MK controls the air, while Lucario controls the land. MK disrupts the opponents with his specials, while Lucario moves in with chaingrabs and smash attacks. It could be the chemistry my brother and I share, but the Luc/MK team pwns.

Unfortunately, I don't think they could beat a C.Falcon/Ganon team.:psycho:

I typically main Zelda but have been playing a lot more lucario and my partner and I have found that both ness and G&W are very good.

Like everyone has said the instant oil slick is amazing. We've also got a nice combo using G&W's uair to push lucario higher so lucario can use his uair ro bair to KO people at the top of the stage. Also G&W dwon tilt can be thrown over the edge of a ledge while lucario uses extreme speed to ledge hog. If the opponent just barely sticks his head over the top of the ledge lucario punishes them with a dair which can ledge spikes depending on the stage, or go into a fair/dair combo.

being able to heal ness 60+ in a second and a half with a charge AS and 2 fp is just demoralizing to any opponent,

That suggest that you change mains quite often. What you meant to say was "I typically play Zelda, (because she is my main)."

And honestly, I've grown tired of using Lucario in teams. It appears that I and others can take on two people well with Lucario but with a partner Lucario is more of the survival king.

In doubles, just pick someone else. xD

I play with my bro as G&W sometimes, the bucket is amazing like peopel have said previously. With TL it can be quite amusing due to the massive amount of projectiles we can be sending around.

I really only have Zelda and then lucario as a close second but have been using him more because i have a small problem of going off stage with her and then getting gimped. I'm trying to pick up someone else, I'm thinking about G&W, just for more variety (disjointed hitboxes rock).

The exploding lucario/snake team reminds me of another one.
DDD and G&W.
think about it. DDD sucks in G&W, spits him out at enemy, G&W does his back air. The opponent takes damage from getting hit by G&W and the turtle! or even the side b and get a 9! (We love doing this to ppl)
its good stuff.
