Help! i am stuck in a room, with a sand bag...

I got a japanese Wii and Brawl the other day, and i turned it on, ya kno i had my wifi hooked up on the menu, and i go to the gameplay. I go to WiFi, then With Anyone option. I pick my character, the level of preference, then i go into a white room, with a sand bag. I wait there, and wait , and wait. 20-30 minutes pass, and i am still waiting. I tried again the next day, nothing happened. I spectate a few battles, i do have wifi connectivitiy, but i go to look for a match and i dont get one.

is this because i am in North America? or do i need to switch on a certain function for online battles?


(by teh way, i really want to play another living person! if you have one, let me know your wii number and lets arrange a battle!!)

I'm not jealous,not one bit.They don't get anything special for being able to have the game earlier than us.I wouldn't even be happy to receive a Japanese copy,and thats because the game's text is in Japanese the voices are in Japanese even the online mode is in Japanese.And we can't even read Japanese.

hmmm... the text, the voices, the online play, the text, the game, the text.... the fighting.. oh wait....

ok, i dont have it, and i agree that its better to wait for the us release, but if they want to spend their money on a game they like, just let them, dont jump all of over them for it.

I don't think this is a game where you really need to read Japanese to enjoy the Japanese version. SSE has no captions(since they don't talk or anything).

You don't really need to read during a fight. All the characters name is in English on the character selection screen. Although, you'll probably have trouble reading the trophies, sticker info, and advanced options such as changing music for a stage or remapping a controller. But you get the basic necessities.

I'm sure you can play "With Friends". Also, my friend got the Japanese Brawl and he said he played "With Anyone" once or twice...

I got the game Feb 4th and I've played it every day since. I beat SSE, Classic, Event Mode, and I unlocked everything. You can still play online, just not "with anyone." No, I can not read Japanese, you just guess.

Who cares about reading Japanese text and what not? That's probably the least important thing when it comes to Brawl.

I'm guessing the reason you can't play online is because of your IP adress. Nintendo probably only has Japanese servers up and anyone with an American IP adress probably gets ignored. If there were a way to make your wii go through a foreign proxy it might work, but then I don't know jack about computers.

well to be honest i will turn it to japanese if possible because i prefer game set sonic's japanese va and of course purin

If you couldn't use about a week's worth of Japanese to figure out how to operate something as simple as a fighting game, then you're really, really slow.

I got the game early because it was cheap to buy a Wiikey(30 Bucks, including the screwdriver), and I get Mario Galaxy for free. I prefer the VA's, and the text is incredibly simple to figure out.
