hitlag; not disconnecting, not slow gameplay

so as I look around the forums, I notice a lot of people have 2 common problems:
a) people are constantly getting disconnected
b) the game actually goes slower than normal

I have neither of those problems. The problem I have is apparently less common (although not UNcommon, we're just the lucky few who don't have problems a or b so we have to deal with problem c). When I play online, everything I do takes anywhere from .5 to 1 second to respond. This makes things VERY annoying, especially when playing as Lucas, as it makes PK thunder EXTREMELY difficult to land. It also gives my friends, who DON'T have this problem, a very big upper hand against me.

So my question is, I've heard lots of rumors on the Wii LAN adapter fixing disconnections and slow gameplay. However, will it fix my hitlag? Can I please get some confirmation on rather or not it will help me? For the record, I NEVER play "with anyone" as most of the players tend to suck and I constantly have nearby friends willing to play, so that's not an issue.

Also, I've read rumors that games are hosted in individual Wiis and NOT Nintendo servers, however I've read on Kotaku that Nintendo actually hosts. Can anyone confirm the hosting system they use? Like XBox live, will the lag be fixed over time if I DON'T get a Wii LAN adapter?

I usually don't have problems and things run smoothly until someone comes in and lags or just slows down the timing between the attack and the press of a button. Otherwise it's just like playing Brawl without online play. By the way, im using the Nintendo Wii Wifi USB Connector.

I have the same problem. But I have a friend that lives in New York that says it's like he's playing offline when he plays online, it's flawless.

I think I'm going to get the lan adapter but I'm not sure yet because I don't know how much it will help...
