I'm not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but i would rather they stick with priorizing courses that haven't been remade ever, i also think tracks that have only been only remade in tour and/or super circuit are also fair game. I'd much rather if they left already remade retro courses for DLC.

Here are my predictions:

Shell Cup
DS Figure 8-Circuit (Never remade, i think it would serve as a nice introductory retro track even if it's kinda boring, specially if the 24 racers rumour is true, peraphs it could have some antigravity stuff)
3DS Daisy Hills (Only remade in Tour, a simple course that could be easily be added into the shell cup, not much else to add)
SNES Koopa Beach 1 (Only remade in SC, Yeah this is a very simple track, but i think it works well as a filler shell cup track, the water could also make the track more interesting)
Wii U Thwomp Ruins (Never remade, i think this is one of the most iconic tracks ofMK8, it' such a modern classic to me, it feels like the perfect course to end the shell cup with)

Banana Cup
Wii Toad's Factory (Never remade, a fan-favourite that could honestly add very fun stuff with anti-grav, not much else to add)
3DS Shy Guy Baazar (Only remade in Tour, A pretty underrated track and i think it could look really nice with a HD glow up)
Wii U Sunshine Airport (Never remade, probably the most popular new track from MK8, not much else to add.)
N64 Wario Stadium (Never remade, the only n64 track left to remade, i think it would work well with 24 players)

Leaf Cup
Wii Mario Circuit (Never remade, Yeah, peraphs a bit unusual for Leaf Cup, but eh Kalamari Desert was in the Leaf Cup in MK7....so why not)
Wii U Electrodome (Never remade, another MK8 fanfavourite, not much else to add)
GCN Mushroom City (Never remade, a fan favourite from CGN that has never been remade, i think it would be chaotic for 24 players, but in a fun way)
GBA Broken Pier (Never remade, This could fit the bill for the "scary track")

Lightning Cup
Tour Piranha Plant Pipeline (Never remade, i think this track is very unlikely to get in compared to the others, but it's the only one that hasn't been remade from Tour)
Wii U Super Bell Subway (Never remade, yes this is a dlc track, but i think it's pretty popular so why not?, also imagine the chaos with 24 players!)
DS Bowser's Castle (Never remade, i think this track is very underrated and it would make a fun track with 24 players)
GBA Rainbow Road (Never remade, not much too add, it's the next one in line)

I'm hoping for there to be at least 4 new items that aren't in Mk8 Deluxe. Not entirely sure what they'd be but I always thought an Ice Flower would be cool.

As for Stages, I hope they go all in on new ones. The Booster Course Pass and just general lifespan of Mk8 makes me really want to ride on some new stages hopefully at the level of or above the previous entries design, since there were so many compelling set pieces introduced. I'm fine with there not being all that many tracks if they're focused on being new experiences.

DLC then could be good for bringing back fan favorite tracks, maybe based off the most popular ones in the previous game since it had so many.

Also, Samus and a Metroid track pretty plz I won't ask for anything else

I think whatever SNES stages return should be designed like most of Tour's courses in 8 Deluxe and have unique routes on each lap. To me, this would go a long way in maing them beefier while also having the potential to modernize them even further.

I wouldn't mind more crossover characters, honestly. Just...not at the expense of most veterans (Honey Queen, Metal Mario and Pink Gold Peach are characters I absolutely won't miss if they don't return in the next game or for the foreseeable future) or new Mario characters. I'd want the majority of the Mario cast from 8 Deluxe to return in the next game first and foremost, along with some brand new character additions to the roster.

At the very least, BotW/TotK Zelda, Tom Nook Ocotlings and/or some of the musicians and Splatfest hosts from the 3 Splatoon games would all make sense as new crossover characters from franchises that have already guest-starred in Mario Kart once since they're all major characters from their respective franchises. Zelda especially since she also got a Master Cycle in Age of Calamity.

King K. Rool.

But knowing Nintendo. They'll prefer to add other versions if characters already in the gsme like Pink Bronze Baby Peach before we ever get King K. Rool.
I think you mean GREEN BRONZE LUIGI
We're getting Burgundy Tungsten Dr. Baby Pauline.
It's **** like this that makes me so mad that Treehouse botched Pink Gold Peach's name.

It's not supposed to be Color + Mineral + Character Name. Her original name was Rose Gold Peach. Rose Gold is an actual fairly well known gold alloy that mixes gold, silver, and copper. Pink Gold does exist but is far less well known since it has no silver in it. The name change only exists to make people say things like these posts.

I do hope the biker outfits for the Princesses and Mayor weren't cut as well. It would be shocking after Peach's biker outfit was prominently featured in the movie to have them be gone.

My best case scenario/theory is that they wanted to bring over the alternate costumes from Tour over, but they had trouble pairing the kimono and hakama outfits that the human characters were with the bikes, so they just redesigned it so that any character wearing a long dress can ride on bikes, and the biker outfits are just alternate costumes that can be selected on any vehicle, bike or kart.

How do you guy think unlockable characters will work since Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U was the last console one that wasn’t a costume. 7 for specific methods.

I forget if I've said this already, but I hope they reach further into the wider Mario "universe" for characters this time instead of filling it full of generic baddies, babies and alternate costumes in the own slots again. Characters from Luigi's Mansion, the Yoshi games, the Wario games, more Kongs and K Rool while we're at it, and yes, even some of the RPG characters.

I have been holding on to for a while my dream roster for some mario spin off, in my mind its either a fighting game or a disgaia-esque tactics game where you build armies out of both leader characters and generic mooks, mario sluggers style. And I absolutely love the idea of a mario title thats willing to dig into the weird forgotten characters they've had over the years.

What I'm saying is if they add Captain Syrup to mario kart I will actually cry in real life.

I think I saw Pauline in a screenshot, I'm hoping that if she's unlockable, it won't be hard to get her unlocked.

Being able to change the lap amount may sound neat in theory, but that could lead to an issue relating to the 3-section courses that debuted in Mario Kart 8; Mount Wario and Big Blue respectively.

Okay, well I guess not every track would require this option; only the ones that specifically change laps, which means no option for the for the 3-section courses.

Why not have the track reset after 3 sections are done? Like a portal back to the start until say, 4 or 5 sections are done.

I've been thinking maybe we could bring in the Spectator Mode from Smash over. Let people watch online races without actually parcipating, and bet on the racers they think will win beforehand. If the racer(s) you predicted wins, you get in game currency.
can’t you just watch streamers?

I’ve been workshopping potential titles for the next game. How does “Super Mario Kart Country” sound?
Think dropping the Super works better. Kind of doesnt roll off the tongue as well & feels kind of bloated with it imo.

Think Super Mario Party Jamboree has the same issue & i mostly hear people refer to that without the Super anyway.
