No, this isnt a question from somebody who cant work out how to jump on smash bros =P

I was wondering what you guys use to jump when playing, a button or up on the analogue stick (or d-pad if using mote)

I use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk configuration, and I jump by pressing down on the d-pad.

Just like I used the Down C button in 64... :p

And I used Y in Melee, so it just feels most natural right there.

I use the Y button during the actual match for short hops or to get in the air. When I must recover I use the control stick.

I use the GC controller.
I jump with x.
And ever since melee i've never actually pushed down the x button fully anymore lol.
I always short hop...

I use Y because I'm used to it from Melee. Guess I just picked Y instead of X when I started Melee.:bee:

Tap up on control stick. Tried to get used to X/Y once, and I just couldn't do it.

I use the GC Controller and I use the control stick. The only reason I use the control stick is because I didn't know you could use the X and Y buttons to jump back when SSB64 came out and I've been using the control stick ever since.

Nunchuck Wii-mote is the only configuration with a C button and a single Z button so it must be that.

...I don't know what you guys are doing, but I usually bend my legs, spring them upwards out of the bent position, and let the momentum help me to jump. It's not that hard, people. >______>

...Or use X.

I use a gamecube controller, and I always use the analog stick. Its just easier when pulling off air combos, especially when using kirby + meta knight.

the why button
do this many people actually use the x button? or are you guys forgetting the y comes before x on the controller. I always want to say x because it makes sense x then y but noooooo y then x gah
