How mad do your friends get when you pick Marth?

I picked Marth one time in a 4-man FFA with my friends and the next round they all picked Marth and spammed taunts. They won't let me pick Marth anymore. Same for Toon Link. They also won't let me pick Sonic because the fights take too long. They have no problem when I pick Ganondorf or Link, however. The ultimate irony is they play Snake, Metaknight, Lucas and ROB.

They let me play Marth... as long as it's a stage with no edges (Shadow Moses Island, Green Hill Zone etc...) >_>. They think edge-guarding is a noob's way of getting kills.

My friend uses marth, and then i just own him with snake. marth is tyte though, hes amazing but definitely not some God tier bullcrap.

Did I say Marth was the best edge-guarder? No I didn't, I simply said that they think edge-guarding is cheap and nothing else. He may not be the best edge-guarder, but he sure as hell can edge-guard. Read carefully next time!

Mine have merely resigned to the fact (probably because I use about eight different characters, so actually only use Marth when I feel like winning by a significant amount). One time I took them on in teams (me against them) and still won. However, they still don't complain...
lawl people that i use marth to play against just complain they go like "u won cause u were marth" nd im jsut like -_- stfu people just think marth requires no skill to play nd that he is cheap when he is NOT cuz he dosent even kill at low percentages anymore sometimes it takes me to get someone to 140 before i kill him -_-
I think that complaining, surrendering automatically or refusing to play properly solely because someone chooses Marth is completely ridiculous.
The ONLY character I ever pick is Marth and not a single one of my friends have a problem with it. If people have stood up to your Marth in Melee, there is no reason for them to not fight your Marth in Brawl, IMO.

When I pick Marth my friend gets so ticked he pretty much loses interest in the match cause he thinks i'll win. He's better now, he doesn't complain........ as much.

Yeah ....today i was playing my friend...and he got pissed and shut off the Wii and said "lets play somthing else" and i was like...is it because you lost cuz if you want i can play on random if you want me to....and then i had to leave his house ): ... aha..

Marth is good, but he's not much better than other characters, no character can really dominate the game, thats the beauty of brawl. I play marth against my friends and eventually they figured out the right strategies to beat me (or at least come close

well my friends don't get mad when i choose marth, or anyone for that matter. They all refuse to play me now, they'd rather watch TV. It was worse for melee, and when brawl came out the enjoyed it for a few days with me until the same thing happened again. Oh well **** em, i play people online.
As for someone's comment about marth not being irritating, i find in free for alls a marth player who only uses counter, forward smash and chain rolling (yes a technique noobs invented, that i have christened chain rolling, which is the linking of 3-20 rolls in a row) It normally wouldn't be that big a deal, but it's harder to punish them with 2 other people trying to mess with me at the same time.

Well that sucks. Mine get pissed a little ("c'mon man choose Wario again..."), but still fight me because they're cool like that.
Yep, one of my friends still tries to Knee me in that white and pink costume... and succeeds sometimes. That Knee to the face still hurts like a *****... I think I lost a few teeth over there.

Actually, when my friend choses Marth (his best character) I kick his ***... As Ice Climbers or Dedede...

I only lose (rarely) in free for alls to dedede so i don't know. I just say he got lucky cuz he spams the waddle dee throw then smashes u when u turn your back. I just counter when he does so it doesn't bother me.

They don't get mad. I am not very good with Marth. I actually hated him at first but I have been playing him more and picking him up. My old Marth maining skills hardly help out though. I am getting the hang of him though, hopefully I can start playing him well again.

look guys if u get mad becuz marth seems hard to beat then try to find a strategy that can take him and belive me for every single char there is a strategy to beat evry other single char and believe it or not Marth can be easily beaten by a special strategy and i think that one of his weak spots is wen hes trying to recover and wen hes on top of u and u must always take advantage of those weak spots, some chars can do it better than others but that doesnt mean hes unbeatable. I also hate it wen im playing a marth and hes always fair spamming. He just makes marth look ******** and it always makes him lose wen im playin him

My friend who I play smash with the most mains Marth, so no problem there. I've picked him up as well, so we're even.

Hah i didnt know other people had the same problem as me. Marth used my main and my friends always complain when i use him. Especially one friend, who ALWAYS claims that everytime he loses a stock its because "he accidentally pressed a wrong button" or "i couldve dodged that but i was paying attention to something else" >_> lol. well now I only reserve marth for the most challenging players. Right now i have fun with lucas and olimar, and occasionally random
Bottom line is that if someone complains there is something that they call those types of people, sore losers. In the case of my friends, they are sore winners… they complain almost constantly, yet win 2/3ds of the matches we play. I guess my friends are just ‘special’.

I have problems when i choose Lucas and Wolf becuz ppl. say they can just spam Pk fire and the side smash. I do neither and i still whip them. The only move i spam is lucas's bair and wolf's diar offstage.

I have quite a few friends who I'm significantly better than, so i really only use characters I'm bad with against them. Playing Marth is asking for the console to go off half the time...
