I did something with Ganondorf that made my eyes bulge...

Okay, I am playing as Ganondorf in Basic Brawl, with the Gamecube Controller. I am up against a G&W, Mario, and Luigi. The battle is pretty heated, then the G&W comes up under me, I footstool him, and end up using Side-B as if it was a reflex by complete accident. However, instead of going straight to the right, I went farther and diagonally up, gaining more vertical distance with it. Whats more is it happened twice in the same match, both by accident. So I dunno what caused it to happen. My thought is that it had to do with doing a diagonal Side-B, but even in Training Mode, I have yet to perform it again.

Your thoughts on the phenomenon? Mine is 'another hidden game mechanic to be exploited'. Problem is figuring out exactly how it happened for sure, since I was in a frenzy when it happened and I wasn't really thinking about my controller movements.

Flames will be ignored.

I've never heard of it, but it seems it was caused by doing a Forward B right after a footstool.
Maybe it could be used for recovery, LOL.:)

You were probably pushed in the air by the initial frames of G&W's up-b or up air.
LOL, didn't think about that, thought he did it on Luigi when I posted that.;)

Sorry for double post, thought I clicked edit.:(

This is what I was thinking...
but you said it was right after a FSJ so I don't think it would even be possible for GaW to do that...

Did you save the replay? That would've helped.
This SHOULD be in the Ganon Forum though >_>

EDIT: Oh...just saw your post...

lolwhut?

You didn't mention the second time being any different of a scenario than the first one. Now I'm stumped.

No footstool after the reg jump?
No sir, it was a single regular jump , when I see something like that, I usually remember exactly how it went. As for a replay, I didn't even think of it till you just mentioned it... ****ATION!

So unless someone can figure out how to do it, and perform it themselves, how to exactly perform it is going to be a mystery. I think I will do training mode later and set the computer to Jump to check the FSJ theory, too bad it is impossible to get a vid out of that aside from crappy camera vids.

So yeah, weird stuff for me.

EDIT: It was Final Destination, Colaya.

This seems very interesting, I'll look into it as soon as possible.

Also, welcome to the site, as I see your relatively new.;)

you have replay? its on basic brawl so you should've been able to save the replay...
Again, I didn't get a replay. I never thought of it until he mentioned it, II was thinking about trying to execute it again at the time and tried and failed in training mode.

I'm sorry to say I can't test this at all for the rest of the day.
I will try to get the time tomorrow.
I hope someone else finds some information on this.:)

First off, you know what an Up+B is, right?
And secondly, are you sure it wasn't just Ganon's superjump? Maybe it can be done out of a footstool to, how cool would that be!

Again...

The first one was done out of an FSJ, the second one was not. Yes I know what an Up+B is, unless you meant that question rhetorically, then okay. No it was not the Superjump, I checked with the AT thread before posting this. The Superjump incorporates Ganondorf's Down+B, this was done with the Side+B.

What happened both times, FSJ'ed and Regular, was Ganondorf performed his Side+B going up and to the side, straight as an arrow. I was only able to perform it twice before I couldn't perform it again. I thought it had to do with the angle I was using the Joystick when I pressed B. The first jump may have been a FSJ-Cancel into a Side-B, because Ganondorf's Aerial Side+B does have a moment where it releases the same shock wave as a Double Jump.

As for the second occurrence, I have no idea, but I didn't footstool anybody at that time. I have attempted to try pulling it off in training mode to no avail.

I can't even try testing it right now because my parents are currently attempting to wall-mount our television.

The Ganon boards see this once every few months. Every time, there is a Game and Watch nearby.

That doesn't always prove that Game & Watch influenced them both times. Why do some people not both to read every post, missing out on information in the process?

Again. Second time it happened = regular jump.

Listen, both times it happened, the Game and Watch either used his Up Air or his Up B. It is not a coincidence that G&W, our one explanation for when this happens, is always around. I would love to find a way to do this without his help, but there currently is none. We have had this topic before on the Ganon boards. Sorry.

Incorrect, that is only what you assume it to be. The Game and Watch was nowhere near me the second time it happened. Just because it hasn't happened that way for you does not mean the second time was also G&W's influence.

Things that surprise me are usually trapped in my head, and I can recount alot of things in a battle where something surprising happens.

Now that I think about it, it seems my re-countenance was off. Both times were a FSJ-canceled Side+B. This one performed on Luigi, who was coming up under me to, of course attack.

I'm glad I clarified it.

Oh, and by the way, the G&W was offstage at the time of the second occurrence.

In that case, I will gladly test it. (But not now, I have to go to work :()

Nope it was Game & Watch.

And before you say anything. Those guys were most likely messing around. It could be a Zap Jump. I'll test it now.

My theory: Sonic, because that is his name and speed is his game, ran in super fast, placed an invisible bumper under Ganondorf and thusly the observed effect.

Definitely either that or Game and Watch.
