Ok, you guys do know that Marth is the only character in Brawl that speaks Japanese in both versions. However, what if the remake of that Fire Emblem game that Marth appear in appears in the North American markets? Would Nintendo still keep the Japanese voice actor if they were going to make a sequel of SSB or have a new english voice actor?

Personally, I think Elijah Woods (you know the guy who did Frodo in the Lord of the Rings movies) would make a great voice actor for Marth in the English version. When I watched the fan-made trailers of Legend of Spyro games (do you know Elijah Woods does Spyro as well), his voice acting was amazing and would fit really well for Marth. Imagine, Marth english voice actor as Elijah Woods. You can challenge this if you want, but you can't change my opinion.

So what do you guys think? Would Elijah Woods fit for Marth?

Marth should never ever get an English voice. Ever. If that happens I'll be buying the Japanese version of Smash.

Marth+ English = NO good. The only way this MAY be good if it was played by Hikaru Midorikawa (THE SAME JAPANESE voice actor).

hey, who knows, if the english voice actor is Elijah Woods, there may be a 20% chance that there may be a crossover between Fire Embelm and Spyro series.

Not getting a version of a fighting/party game because one foreign character all of a sudden speaks a language you can understand, which he will technically do anyway in an upcoming remake of his game? How does that work?

Hey, if Fire Emblem DS (remake of the first Japanese Fire Emblem) is going to be released in North America, then Nintendo would have no choice but to find an English voice actor for Marth. Because every Fire Emblem game that was released in North America have English voice actors/actresses. Just look at Ike's English voice acting, he does have strong serious tone and the voice acting worked out great in SSBB and the Fire Emblem games he appeared in.

umm.. keep the azn pride in marth :D he deserves it =P
Me agree. Besides, no offense, but I thought that Frodo was a wee bit, well, gay (in both orientation and stupidity, but not both definitions mixed). Like I said, hard to talk about sexual orientation/gender, but it happens in marth boards all the time.

Lol, there are a lot of people claiming Marth to be a homosexual because the way he talks (after all the Japanese voicing was done by a WOMAN). At first, I thought of Marth being female before having to do some research (even some claim Marth to be a girl).

Anyways, whether or not remake is going to be released in the U.S. or not, I don't we should bash on homosexuals in this thread. And using the term "gay" to describe something stupid is stupid anyways. But Elijah Woods did the voice acting really well with Spyro and can do well with Marth. Man, if there was a Fire Emblem game (and same universe Marth is in) that would feature Spyro as a secret character for the Wii, I'm going to get it.

not sure...I believe they want Marth to have a young teenage voice but failed miserably. And I don't think Hikaru may work for english voice acting, I haven't played any games where Hikaru speaks english for one of the characters.

I wouldn't think so. Honestly, I couldn't find a good voice actor that could pull Marth well.

About Hikaru Midorikawa's roles, I didn't know he provided voices for Heero Yuy, Xingke, Ryuho, and Kaiba. That's pretty cool.
