I don't know... I always believed Smash Bros. was created for nostalgia. What else could it be? What other game lets you pit a character like Mario against someone like Fox?

I personally don't like playing a match in 75m, but I'd have to say it's an awesome stage to say the least. So is the Mario Bros. stage. I mean, I just turn them off in the Random Stage select, and avoid them at all costs, but I wouldn't mind a casual match against my roommate on any stage. If I want a good neutral stage, Battlefield and Final Destination are there along with others.

As for R.O.B... I don't understand why people hate him so much. He's as much a part of Nintendo's history as the next guy, so I say he's welcome.

And... Yeah, Brawl was in development in parallel with Mario Galaxy, so there's no way a Mario Galaxy stage could make it in. Sunshine made it in. Wind Waker made it in. Even Twilight Princess made it in and the 4th generation of Pokemon made it in.

So what if Brawl and SMG were developed in parallel? Being an insider, Sakurai probably knew alot about Galaxy anyway, including the fact that it came out months before Brawl. He could've easily added a stage from it.

I mean, the FE game that Roy was in came out AFTER Melee. If they could manage that then they could've managed stages from recent Wii games.

Ah well, maybe next time, eh?

Pretty sure Brawl was about done by the time Galaxy was finished. It was delayed probably due to translation issues(a lot of text on trophies) while attempting to keep the global release(and still failing terribly :/) + not wanting to release two heavyweights at once. Not that it's much of an excuse I guess.
