I began a thread on Gamefaqs that has the most support/replies I have ever gotten. Users there were suggesting I should bring it here - to the heart of the Smash community if I really want it to make an impact.

In response to the recent scalping and overall attitude of this man: http://www.nintendonuggets.com/?p=1427

I have decided to do my part to start a viral movement.

People should not be allowed to get away with creating an artificial supply lack because of their hatred for a company and character. As of now, they are being rewarded for this behavior with monetary gain. Now, what if their reward was a bunch of Little Macs cluttered in a corner? A bunch of dusty Villager and Marth boxes?

This is the reality we can create if we allow a small ripple to become a wave.

Help create a world where kids and collectors can get their favorite characters at retail price by practicing a little self control and waiting for Nintendo to send out another shipment of your favorite characters. Stick the scalpers where it hurts - the wallet.

Take the pledge. Refuse to buy Amiibo from re-sellers and allow those Amiibo to collect dust. Patience will reward us and punish them in the end.

A small ripple can create a wave. This is our ripple. Will you join me?

My friends, it's "Time to tip the scales!"

This is not going to work, I think you're over estimating the percentage of players that actually visit forums or play online at all for that matter.
The average-to-hardcore population of sm4sh are frequent visitors, true.
But I think that a huge majoriy of players are just casual players that will never even touch the online feature and will never visit a single forum.
These casual players are often the amiibo collectors, or hell even parents that want to surprise their kiddo.

All you will reach is the middle-to-hardcore playerbase, not the target you want to have for this movement.

I realize there isn't a perfect way to get this off the ground. I believe that if the "higher-ups" in the Smash community begin to refuse to purchase these, it will start that ripple.

I also realize that it won't come to the point of perfection. But if everyone that sees or hears of this does their part, I truly believe there can be a significant impact.

As a lot of people know, I too am big into collecting amiibos, and think scalpers could be more considerate, but this thread does violate SWF's rules on advertising.

Please contact an administrator if you have further questions over this policy. Also please do not take this discussion to the Amiibo General thread either.
