Im sure theres a thread for this already, and im sure you guyz wont hesitate to redirect me there, but I just won 20k gold in spectating mode after going on this 10 losing streak lol.

Whats the most you've won in spectating mode?

Any tips?

I think it sucks though how they aren't live battles. It makes me want the option to just be able to fast forward the match.

I used to get 100,000 gold on a few occasions in the early days of this game. Back then, the majority of matches spectated had 10x multipliers, making it easier to get the maximum of 100,000 gold in three consecutive wins. It also helped that repeats happened often, so I just noted who won in a spreadsheet, colored names of players in blue or red for team battles, and highlighted the winners. Periodically the matches would be replaced with new ones, so watching for repeats only work for a while. I never quite determined at what exact point(s) during the day the matches are refreshed with new ones.

I suspect the ratios of 10x multipliers are reduced now that more people are no longer new, which was why everyone started at 10x multipliers. Therefore, it might not be as easy to win 100,000 gold now as it used to be. I now find Crazy Orders to be the best way to earn gold since I have enough good equipment to play that mode sufficiently far enough. I am just glad to have capitalized on Spectator Mode in the early days when it was most profitable.

As an additional tip, today is the ideal day to bet against the new characters, since everyone is new to them. It is almost guaranteed gold. :-)

Update:

This is literally the easiest gold I've earned since the early days of Smash when nearly every match had 10x multipliers. All new characters are consistently losing. Come get it while you can!
